Following the massive Insomniac leaks from 2023 that revealed a Venom video game was on the way, a new report offers that the project has been in active development and will feature Eddie Brock, Carnage, Anti-Venom, and more.
Development Status
According to mp1st.com, in addition to their Wolverine video game update, the Venom game is still early in the pipeline. With Wolverine expected to remain Insomniac’s priority, the Venom title is likely in pre-production rather than full development.

Eddie Brock as Venom
One detail coming from the site’s sources is that Eddie Brock will be the game’s protagonist. While that might seem obvious after the events of Spider-Man 2, it rules out other possible symbiote hosts like Flash Thompson (Agent Venom in the comics) or a brand-new character.
This Eddie Brock is said to be modeled closer to his comic book counterpart instead of Tom Hardy’s live-action version.

Villains and Other Symbiotes
Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage, is expected to return as the game’s main villain. This lines up with leaks from the 2023 data breach that included internal slideshows mentioning Carnage.
The game is also rumored to feature Anti-Venom, though not Peter Parker’s version. Instead, it would be the monstrous design from the comics, which Eddie eventually takes on. In the story, Eddie can maintain full control with Anti-Venom, a contrast to Peter’s struggle with the symbiote.

Spider-Man 2099 Appearance
Another character possibly showing up is Miguel O’Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099, though details on his role remain unverified. The site notes it’s possible Miguel O’Hara appears in Spider-Man 3 and maybe not the Venom game.
Take It With Caution
The site also stresses that some of these story details are unverified, so fans should take them with a grain of salt.
When will the Venom video game be released?
The report says the Venom video game was originally planned to be released at the end of this year, but says to expect a 2027 release.
