New Justice League & DCEU Rumors

With the Justice League movie officially starting filming today in the UK, how about some rumors?

While not the best source of rumors, maybe these batch of DC movie 4Chan rumors explains why Black Canary was recently killed off in Arrow?

Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release.

• Zack Snyder might not direct JUSTICE LEAGUE 2 if JUSTICE LEAGUE also receives critical backlash.

• JUSTICE LEAGUE is massive and filled with characters. Snyder and Chris Terrio wrote the script together.

• Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, J.K. Simmons, Jena Malone, Jeremy Irons, Connie Nielsen, Viola Davis, Diane Lane, Joe Morton and Harry Lennix are the returning actors from previous movies.

• Amber Heard, Alona Tal, Imogen Poots, James Remar, Alfred Molina and Ed Harris are also cast as Mera, Black Canary, Iris West, Darryl Frye, Thomas Morrow and General Wade Eiling.

• Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Tessa Thompson are in negotiations to play Sarah Charles.

• Javier Bardem, Jackie Earle Haley, Frances McDormand, Joel Edgerton, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Willem Dafoe have also been approached and/or are in discussions for undisclosed roles.

• AQUAMAN will feature Ocean Master and the Trench. Black Manta is not slated to appear at this point.

• THE FLASH will feature the Reverse-Flash, but it’s a “new twist” that producers are confident will set it apart from the TV show.

• Shawn Levy is the frontrunner to direct SHAZAM.

• Matt Reeves, Duncan Jones and Rian Johnson have been approached about GREEN LANTERN CORPS.

• CYBORG is still in the backburner until JUSTICE LEAGUE provides feedback on the public’s reception of Cyborg. If it happens, it’ll have a black director.

• Ben Affleck is still reluctant to direct the new BATMAN movie, but he’s writing it. It’ll definitely include Jared Leto’s Joker.

• SUICIDE SQUAD 2 is likely to happen in 2018/2019 judging by early reactions.

Ezra Miller & Grant Gustin Flash Have Nothing To Do With Each Other

For fans hoping one day the DC movie universe would cross over with the DC TV Universe — keep dreaming.

Gran Gustin is uber-popular right now starring on The CW’s Flash TV series.

Meanwhile, WB cast a different Barry Allen actor for their Justice League movie universe, Ezra Miller, who made his first two apperances recently in Batman Vs. Superman.

While Ezra Miller has previously mentioned parallel dimensions regarding the two Flash characters, and the Batman Vs. Superman Flash cameo hinted at multiple dimensions, producer Chares Roven says there is no connection at all.

“The Flash on the television show and the Flash in Batman v Superman don’t have anything to do with one another,” Roven told Coming Soon. “They don’t exist in the same time, place, universe or even dimension.”

Roven goes on to state it will be rather interesting to see the response to the two different Flash actors.

“Television is interesting. It’s going to be interesting to see if you can have two characters in two different mediums have the same name, have many of the same attributes and still coexist harmoniously because they’re from two different universes,” Roven said.

It also doesn’t appear as if Warner Bros. plans on having two characters exisit at the same time on TV and the movies ever again. WB already killed off Suicide Squad characters in Arrow, and most recently saw Zack Snyder kill off Jimmy Olsen in a post-release BVS interview (they didn’t even name the character in the movie); CBS’ Supergirl has their own Jimmy Olsen with Mehcad Brooks. It’s also known Batman and Superman don’t exist within the CW Arrow/Flash universe, and Superman has only been a blur on Supergirl. Regarding Gotham, Ben McKenzie and J.K. Simmons are probaby far apart enough in age where it won’t much matter much regarding Gordon.

Watch The Awesome Flashpoint Paradox Fan-Trailer

Check out a cool fan-trailer for The Flashpoint Paradox featuring footage from the DC TV universe, DC TV and other sources put together by the UltraSargent YouTube channel.

Flashpoint was the DC comic book event that precended their 2011 New 52 relaunch. It was a pretty awesome series that saw The Flash change history and the DCU completely (for better or worse depending how you look at it).

The last scene in the above trailer features a Batman Vs. Superman cameo spoiler.

I’ll also include an explanation below for some of the footage (watch the trailer first if you are unfamiliar with the DC Comics Flashpoint storyline).

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Comedian Watchmen role is used as the footage for Thomas Wayne. In Flashpoint, a young Bruce Wayne is the one that gets killed, and Thomas Wayne takes up the Batman mantle, which is a gun-toting version of the vigilante. He battles his arch-nemesis The Joker — his wife, Martha Wayne.

Ezra Miller Flash Movie To Feature Ray Fisher’s Cyborg

Following Ezra Miller’s Flash (watch here) and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg (watch here) appearances in Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League, it’s learned the two will team up for The Flash standalone movie in 2018.

Batman Vs. Superman producer Deborah Miller told Forbes about the plan.

“As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher – who plays Cyborg – are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice camaraderie with each other,” Deborah Snyder offered. “Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them.”

Justice League opens November 17, 2017; the standalone Cyborg movie is also due out in 2020.

Kevin Smith Changes His Tune For Batman vs. Superman

Well, that didn’t take long.

Following Kevin Smith blasting Batman Vs. Superman for not having any heart and comparing Ben Affleck’s Batman to Donald Trump, now Smith has changed his tune.

Kevin Smith happens to be directing an episode of The Flash and posted on Instagram that after watching Batman vs. Superman a second time, he has found the movie’s heart. Awe.

Anybody know where Smith’s spine is at?

Smith was also involved in promoting Batman Vs. Superman.

So to thank me for sneaking him into the @dccomics universe, Jay took me to see @batmanvsuperman again (my second time, his first). I liked the flick more on my second viewing (see 1 hour review on my #KevinSmith #youtube channel). I’d said the film didn’t have any heart, but after the second viewing, I actually found the heart in #batmanvsuperman: it’s in the viewer. And the viewer I watched the blockbuster with the second time was all agog, eyes as big as saucers. During the Knightmare sequence, we shared a moment that even elevated the flick for me: when the winged New Gods nasties attack #Batman and take him down, Jay (age 40) & I (age 45) simultaneously looked at one another and whispered reverently “ParaDemons.” It was a beautiful moment shared by two lifelong fanboys who were delighted to see their childhood flash before their eyes.

Meta-Mewes! The folks at @cwtheflash were kind enough to include a cameo for my hetero life mate @jaymewes in the episode of #TheFlash I directed. As a longtime lover of everything that ever aired on @thecw, Jay was ecstatic to have scripted lines in one of his favorite shows (plus, he got to visit the @cw_arrow sets across the lot). But I also found an opportunity to sneak #jaymewes into another scene as well – this time as a masked super villain. And even though he had no lines as the Meta and is unrecognizable, THIS was the role that reduced him to tears. I’ve seen #JayMewes cry twice in my life: one time it was about the birth of his only begotten daughter, the other time was after he wrapped his super villain bit on #TheFlash. Jay gave me a huge hug and said “You made my dream come true, Moves.” You see, Jay never planned for @jayandsilentbob; while he certainly inspired the cinematic duo, it was never his dream to play Jay in the movies – it was just something that happened to him. But this boy LOVES his comic books – so much so that I’ve never heard him say he’s ever read a bad comic book (and I know for a fact he went deep on the I’ll-fated @marvel “New Universe” titles back in the day). He doesn’t dissect superhero material, he just consumes. Analyzing is for academics: Jay’s just there to see his heroes come to life. Supergirl & The Flash Score High Ratings

Last night saw The Flash and Supergirl air on CBS, which drew in some pretty good numbers.

The episode gave Supergirl its best rating since early February with 7.24 million viewers tuning in, which is up from the previous episode of 6 million.

The 7 million viewers is also almost more than two times what The Flash on the CW normal sees (around 4 million).

Supergirl also beat Fox’s Gotham, as the two air at the same time, with Gotham netting 4.78 million.

The episode was a bit corny for my taste (poor choice in villains, and I could do without the Kara and Jimmy Olsen romance), but seeing Supergirl and The Flash on screen together was pretty cool. Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist have some good on screen chemistry.

More than likely with the ratings success, this will mean further crossovers down the line with Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, which Gustin said was the plan.

Update: CBS released the following official announcement:

“SUPERGIRL” SOARS WITH “THE FLASH” CROSSOVER

“Supergirl” Leaps +31% in Adults 18-49 to a Seven-Week High and Increases +21% in Viewers

Tops All Monday Scripted Programs in Adults 18-49

SUPERGIRL delivered its biggest adults 18-49 rating in seven weeks and its largest audience in five weeks with last night’s “The Flash” crossover episode, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Monday, March 28.

In adults 18-49, SUPERGIRL averaged a seven-week high of 1.7, a +31% jump from a week ago. In viewers, the crossover episode averaged 7.24 million viewers, up +21% from last week and delivering its largest audience in five weeks.

SUPERGIRL was Monday’s highest-rated scripted series in adults 18-49.

Ezra Miller Getting Ripped For The Flash

Ezra Miller Flash Justice League Featurette

Ezra Miller appears as The Flash in this week’s Batman Vs. Superman followed by the Justice League movie, which films in a couple of weeks, and then in the 2018 Flash standalone movie.

Many fans are on the fence regarding the casting because of the popularity of Grant Gustin, the TV version of The Flash.

However, that may change as by most accounts Ezra Miller’s appearance in Batman Vs. Superman was an impressive debut (watch the spoiler cameo here).

Now photos of Ezra Miller have hit the net revealing the actor is taking his Flash role seriously, as Miller is getting in tip-top super hero shape to play the Justice League Scarlet Speedster.

While attending the Batman Vs. Superman premiere, Miller posted on his official Instagram account that he is getting “ripped” for the role.

The Batman Vs. Superman Cameo Discussion: Aquaman, Flash & Cyborg

Obvious SPOILERS follow for Batman Vs. Superman.

Note: It’s already been announced numerous times that Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher are going to appear in the movie, so that part is not a spoiler.

That said, now let’s discuss the Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg cameos.

Lex Luthor has a file on metahumans that contains info on Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. Bruce Wayne tries to steal it, but Diana Prince ends up stealing Batman’s device first; however, she can’t break the encryption, so she ends up giving it back to Bruce Wayne, who uses the Batcave computer to decrypt it. Diana Prince wanted the file because it contains an image of herself from 100 years ago (check out the pic here).

Bruce Wayne ends up giving the file to Diana who looks through it, and that’s where we get the second Flash cameo, Aquaman and Cyborg.

Aquaman

Jason Momoa’s Aquaman cameo wasn’t as good as The Flash or Cyborg. Actually, I wasn’t quite sure what was going on with it, other than the military(?) was investigating a possible downed ship. When the camera (drone?) came to the ship, Aquaman came out of the hole and used his Trident to destroy the camera-drone. Was more referenced in this scene? I may have missed it.

Cyborg

Cyborg’s was pretty wild. We didn’t get that football scene that Zack Snyder was said to have filmed way back in October. I believe Perry and Clark made reference to it a couple times. I’m guessing Ray Fisher may have been involved, but it looks to have gotten cut. Anyway, maybe it had nothing to do with Cyborg, but the scene showed half of Cyborg’s body up on a wall attached to equiment at Star Labs. Was that his father? Some guy was trying to revive him, but initially couldn’t(?). Then he used some sort of tech (Kryptonian?) that bonded to Cyborg and gave him his metal parts. Honestly, I thought it was a larger Tesseract from Avengers (lol). Cool scene. Update: The tech is confirmed as a Mother Box, and Joe Morton plays Silas Stone.

The Flash

Fans have been pretty much upset that Grant Gustin isn’t The Flash in the DCCU. Snyder said some BS about Gustin not fitting in in the Justice League universe. Okay, whatever. I felt Ezra Miller made an impressive debut. He actually had two cameos. He communicated to a sleeping Bruce Wayne that Bruce is right about him all along (Superman? we’re not sure). The Flash tells Bruce that Lois is the key; to watch out for her or something like that. This reminded me a lot of the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game: Lois dies and Superman goes bad. That was the feeling I was getting here.

Regarding The Flash costume (people are already going nuts on our Facebook), the costume was an armored version. I felt The Flash needed the armor to protect him from travelling where ever he was travelling to/from. I also thought maybe this Flash might have the armor to protect himself whenever he goes ultra-fast. The last episode of The Flash TV series saw Trajectory run too fast and disappear, maybe the Ezra Miller Flash was protecting himself from something similar. We also know this probably isn’t the final Flash costume as Zack Snyer teased a different version (at least I think as much).

The Flash Cameo #2

This is another part of the Diana Prince scene where she is watching the Lex file. It shows Barry in a convenient store buying some milk when the store gets robbed. Barry moves as quick as a flash and stops the robbery! What I thought was cool about the scene was that Barry seemed to move faster than the camera. Barry didn’t really “disappear” from camera #1 — he seemed to move too fast that it appeared as if he was in two places at once! Now that’s fast! Zoom who?!

What are your thoughts? Let is know in the comments below or on Facebook.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Grant Gustin Flash Not A Fit For Justice League Universe Says Zack Snyder

I’ve said it once, and it’s worth saying again: If ever DC was looking for their Spider-Man, they’ve found it in the Grant Gustin Flash.

I also think it’s a colossal mistake by WB not to use Grant Gustin (and Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow) in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Obviously, Zack Snyder disagrees as he cast Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen for the DCCU, which hasn’t been well received by fans.

Now we hear exactly why Zack Snyder chose to go a different route, and it’s because he feels the Grant Gustin Flash is too different in tone than the Justice League movie universe.

“I just don’t think it was a good fit,” Snyder told the New York Daily News of bringing Grant Gustin’s Flash into the Justice League universe. “I’m very strict with this universe, and I just don’t see a version where…that (tone is) not our world.”

Snyder continues in what seems an attempt – or an excuse- to calm the masses (sorry, Zack; not working) by stating Grant Gustin’s Flash is part of the overall DC multiverse.

“Even if Grant Gustin is my favorite guy in the world and he’s very good, we made a commitment to the multi-verse (idea), so it’s just not a thing that’s possible.”

From Snyder’s comments, I guess we are supposed to take from that, that the Grant Gustin Flash is too light and too happy. Now we know we can expect a dark and depressing Ezra Miller, right?

Ezra Miller, you have some mighty fast boots to fill. Good luck.

10 Supergirl & The Flash Spoiler Details

Monday, March 28th at 8pm ET on CBS sees the highly anticipated crossover air for Supergirl and The Flash.

Below you can check out some details from the episode as Entertainment Weekly offered up some tidbits. Promos and preview images for the episode are also included below.

Spoiler warning is in effect.

• The crossover will be referenced on the April 5th episode of The Flash, but only literally for a flash as Barry disappears for a second in his world, but ends up for an entire day in the world of Supergirl.

• Supergirl and The Flash exist in parallel universes where they haven’t heard of each other’s characters, meaning Supergirl doesn’t exist in The Flash universe and vice versa: “Supergirl has never heard of The Flash and Flash has never heard of Supergirl, so there’s a lot of like, ‘Wait, you’re the who, now?’ ” says Kreisberg.

• It’s said since Arrow and The Flash have never referenced Metropolis or Superman because Superman doesn’t exist in the Arrow and Flash universe (probably Batman, too): “If Supergirl and Flash were existing in the same universe, then why has no one on Flash or Arrow ever talked about Metropolis or the fact that there’s a Superman?” Kreisberg points out. “The one explanation for that is because he doesn’t exist in that world.”

• Barry crosses over into the Supergirl universe through use of the tachyon device he has been creating to help take down Zoom.

• It will be a fun and lighter episode, and The Flash and Supergirl are quick to trust each other.

• Barry helps teach Kara about being a superhero; likewise, helping Supergirl helps Barry gain the confidence he needs to fight Zoom back in Central City.

• Winn thinks the idea of a multiverse is cool; Jimmy Olsen feels as if Barry is a little bit of competition; Barry is intimidated by Cat.

• Live Wire and Silver Banshee are the villains.

• There will be race between Supergirl and The Flash.

It’s hoped this leads into one big crossover with the other DC shows.

“Worlds Finest” episode synopsis:

Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home.

Grant Gustin Hints At Mega Crossover: Flash, Supergirl, Arrow & DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

Monday, March 28th sees The Flash crossover into the world of Supergirl.

As we’ve already seen The Flash and Arrow together, as well as Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, futher down the road it’s possible there could be one mega crossover between all four shows.

While speaking with EW.com, Grant Gustin mentions he is hoping it’s a possibility.

But viewers will get to watch Barry and Kara address an age-old question. Like The Flash and Superman before them in the comics, the two have a footrace to figure out who is faster. “It’s one of my favorite moments in this episode,” says Kreisberg. “It’s close.” Hopefully close enough that they’ll need a rematch next season, maybe with Green Arrow and the Legends as an audience. “That’s in the cards at this point,” says Gustin. “The whole point of us doing this crossover is setting up the fact that maybe next year we can cross over all of them.

Watch two teasers below for The Flash and Supergirl episode “Worlds Finest.”
