When Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3rd, the Son of Asgard will find himself on the alien planet Sakaar, otherwise known as Planet Hulk in the Marvel comics. Mark Ruffalo Finishes Filming Thor: Ragnarok

It’s learned Mark Ruffalo is done filming in Australia for Thor: Ragnarok.

Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner as well as the Hulk that sees the son of Asgard teaming with the Green Goliath against the likes of Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

Ruffalo posted on Instagram: “Waititi and ‘Ruffles’ on the set of #Thor3 last day. Had such a great good fun time making this movie. Thanks @taikawaititi @chrishemsworth , @tessamaethompson @marvel for the love and the laughs.”

While it may seem as if Mark Ruffalo has finished filming Thor 3 early, bear in mind that the Hulk is done with CGI, which means Ruffalo isn’t needed on set to provide the movement. There’s also the fact that Thor: Ragnarok is an adaptation of the Marvel Comics “Planet Hulk” storyline which didn’t even feature Banner (too puny) aside from a one-time reveal.

“Thor: Raganarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

Mark Ruffalo Teases It Ain’t Easy Being Green For Thor: Ragnarok

Chris Hemsworth teased possible big changes for Thor: Ragnarok, and now Mark Ruffalo says it ain’t easy being green!

Ruffalo took to Twitter to reveal the following Thor: Ragnarok set video where we see the actor with giant Hulk hands.

Ruffalo runs at the camera making a Hulk noise and does a Hulk punch!

Updated: with second set video below.

While the plot hasn’t been officially released, it’s probably a safe bet that at some point in the movie we’ll see Thor battle the Hulk prior to the pair teaming up to take down Hela and her minions (and maybe Loki?).

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release also starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.

Mark Ruffalo Says Hela Kills Hulk & Thor In Ragnarok

For those wondering how much of the Hulk will be featured in Thor: Ragnarok, Mark Ruffalo says there will be a lot of the Green Goliath.

ET Online caught up with Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo who also talked about Cate Blanchett’s villain role, Hela, possibly revealing a plot spoiler.

“It’s an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor,” Ruffalo said. “I think it will be smashing. You’ll see a lot more Hulk and I think [it will be even] ‘Hulk-ier’ [this time around]. The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”

Mark Ruffalo, who previously let it slip that Cate Blanchett was cast in Thor 3, now possibly reveals a key detail about the movie as he says Blanchett’s Hela kills both Thor and the Hulk.

“She plays the worst of the worst. So evil,” Ruffalo teased. “She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.”

In the Marvel Comics, Hela rules the world of the dead, Hel, as well as Niffleheim. Perhaps she sends Hulk and Thor to Hel, and that’s where part of their adventure takes place.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release also starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.

Hulk Almost Made It Into Captain America: Civil War Post-Credits Scene

It’s learned Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk almost made it into Captain America: Civil War.

Throughtout filming of Captain America: Civil War there were a lot of rumors and speculation that the Hulk might make an appearance.

Mark Ruffalo was said to be spotted in Germany with the cast, Robert Downey Jr. teased Ruffalo’s involvement, and Anthony Mackie even made it sound as if the Hulk was in Captain America: Civil War.

Now Captain America: Civil War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely set the record straight regarding the Hulk.

It’s learned Mark Ruffalo wasn’t in Germany, but the unit publicist on Captain America: Civil War was mistaken to be Ruffalo as the two look alike.

The writers do note they talked about using the Hulk and even had an idea for a Captain America: Civil War post-credit scene with the Hulk, but on second thought, decided not to do it just to add in another character.

Via HP:

“We can clean that up real quickly,” said Markus. “Mark Ruffalo shot no scenes. We talked about having Bruce Banner at the very end of the film, and it just, again, seemed like we’re sticking people in just to stick them in. He has clearly gone somewhere at the end of ‘Ultron,’ and that’s a story. Don’t blow it off and put it in a little tiny chunk just to put in a little extra filigree on our movie. That’s a story.”

McFeely added, “There was a draft with a stinger of him in it. But that was long ago, and reports of him actually filming stuff — the unit publicist on the movies [John M. Pisani] looks a lot like Ruffalo, so when people say, ‘Hey, he’s in Berlin dancing with Anthony Mackie,’ it’s John Pisani. It’s not Ruffalo.”

Another character that almost made it into Captain America: Civil War was Wasp.

Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk can next be seen along Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in Thor: Ragnarok.

Holy Oscar Fallout 2016!

By Lawrence Napoli

(Editor’s note: the article was written live as the Oscars happened)

As the red carpet nonsense starts to simmer down, I’m thinking about a couple of things.  First, is it beyond a foregone conclusion that Leo takes home his first Oscar?  It does seem it would take an act of God to prevent this from occurring seeing how he has as much hype to win as any other “favored” star in the past.  Second, what is Chris Rock going to do or say: Is he going to play it safe – corporate and PC – or is he going to set the show on fire?  Third, what kind of surprises are we going to experience during the show (please let there be an appearance by Deadpool)?  I hope the show producers do more than simply speed things along, but find an entertaining twist without using musical interludes as a crutch.  Fourth, will there be more disdain for the rise of comic book/special effect driven adventure films, or will there be a deeper appreciation for the ones that really pull out all the stops?  Blockbusters deliver the magical spectacle to audiences as well as any other heavy handed drama.  I understand the argument for over-saturation, but purists should shut their mouths when it comes to scoffing at and mocking these films.  There’s nothing wrong with bringing more attention to smaller, indie productions that have bare bones budgets and make their films as much about “the art” as possible, but make no mistake, The Academy Awards is a show that is much more about money and politics in Hollywood and studios that own winners have big pay days to cash in on.  We’ll leave post show analysis to the end and hopefully we will be treated to a good one; on with the show.

[Side note: Holy crap!  It’s Louis Gossett Jr. prior to the show! He had a great message regarding diversity that was short, sweet and poignant and probably going to be ignored by the majority of people on the planet.]

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24514:]]

Opening Monologue by Chris Rock: All race; all the time.  Major props go out to Chris for not shying away from the issue and going straight for the jugular and never letting it settle for the entire speech.  He had a great observation regarding the racism of Hollywood as “Sorority Racism.”  Sure we like you, but you’re not a Kappa.  This is perhaps the most accurate description of Hollywood racism (and let’s be honest, Corporate racism) and you’ll probably be hearing this repeated on social media, but probably not the mainstream.  He may have gone a bit far with that bit regarding the “In Memoriam” sequence of black people being shot on their way to the Oscars, though.  Let’s just say that Ellen would have about zero percent chance at addressing the elephant in the room, but Chris Rock was pretty calm and collected the whole time, and he kept at it and didn’t give it a chance to dissipate.

Really Charlize, writers are the backbone of the industry?  Two words: my ass (also written by a writer).  If that were really true, they’d be getting paid much more and we’d be getting higher quality stories.

Best Original Screenplay:  SpotlightTom McCarthy and Josh Singer are our first candidates to ignore the thank you scroll at the bottom of the screen who get played off stage cutting off their speeches.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24515:]]

Best Adapted Screenplay: (Good awkward comedy between Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling) The Big ShortAdam McKay and Charles Randolph also get played off stage by the orchestra.  I predict that the Academy will attempt to damage control the lack of diversity among its nominees by putting corporate big money in as much bad light as possible.  This means that The Big Short will probably win best picture.

Oh My.  Chris Rock certainly has the racism angle playing strong with the “funny” media promos featuring black people that didn’t make the cut for The Martian, The Danish Girl and Joy with help from Whoopi Goldberg and Tracy Morgan.

Sarah Silverman making fun of James Bond.  One word: Yikes!

Sam Smith performing “The Writing’s on the Wal”l theme from Spectre was nice, but certainly not an example of his best vocal work live or recorded.  I felt he forced it a little bit as opposed to being smooth and legato.

Best Supporting Actress: Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl.  Seeing her performance in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. didn’t exactly pave the way for her victory here.  The effort she made in Ex Machina was certainly more telling.  Ultimately, it was a great performance in a period piece for a British actress that brought home the gold for this relative newcomer.  Well done Alicia.  2015 was an incredibly busy year for you.

Best Costume Design:  Jenny Beavan for Mad Max: Fury Road.  WOW!  This was a legitimate surprise for me.  Usually this award goes directly to one of the annual period pieces, but to go to an action film was pretty bold.

Best Production Design: Colin Gibson and Lisa Thompson for Mad Max: Fury Road.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24516:]]

The Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) present for best makeup.  Appropriate.

Best Makeup: Vanderwalt, Wardega and Martin for Mad Max: Fury Road.  They probably should have seated these folks a bit closer to the stage than the nosebleeds.

Best Cinematography:  Emmanuel Lubezki forThe Revenant.  There was never any doubt.  No film in 2015 did more with its framing than this.  The cinematography made the harsh environment of this film as imposing a character as any other in this story.

Best Film Editing:  Margaret Sixel for Mad Max: Fury Road.  The George Miller juggernaut continues to roll, and it’s only picking up steam.  Thank you again orchestra for another awkward play off.

[Black History Month Presentation thanking Jack Black for his contributions was a tactical jab at Will Smith for his personal boycott of the Oscars.  This being the second moment Chris Rock put the finger on the Smith household is more than likely going to start a Twitter war.  The Smith’s are likely to be righteously pissed come the morning.]

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24517:]]

Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Captain America (Chris Evans) present Best Sound Editing: which goes to Mark Mangini and David White for Mad Max: Fury Road.  Ah, cursing blotted out by the satellite delay.  Well done sound editors!  More love for George Miller!

Best Sound Mixing:  Jenkins, Rudloff and Osmo for Mad Max: Fury Road.  Thanks to Australians!  I’m starting to get upset with the show’s director and orchestra for not giving the film production nerds a chance to say anything.

Best Visual Effects:  Whitehurst, Norris, Adington and Bennett for Ex Machina.  Hey, let’s give it up for a film not named Mad Max: Fury Road for winning something in a while.  I don’t mind the extra kick to the groin The Force Awakens gets for its continued snubbing for the tech categories.  Star Wars doesn’t need awards as cash is king in this business, and Episode 7 has plenty last I checked.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24518:]]

[C-3P0, R2-D2 and BB-8 make an appearance to give some love to John Williams.  Sorry guys, you still haven’t won anything tonight.]

[Chris Rock fleecing his daughters to sell Girl Scout cookies continues the strange live interaction with the audience moment recent Oscar shows have adopted.]

Best Animated Short:  Gabriel Osorio and Pato Escala forBear Story.  First Oscar for the country of Chile, well done folks!

Best Animated Feature Film:  Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera for Inside Out.  Once again, the winner for the Disney/Pixar category is another Disney/Pixar film.  Yawn.

[Kevin Hart bringing more attention to Chris Rock’s agenda and even more cursing blotted out by the satellite delay.]

Best Supporting Actor: Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies.  Well, a Steven Spielberg film had to go home with something, even if it’s another period piece, even if it’s using another backdrop for war.  No disrespect for Mr. Rylance, but this was a disappointment for me as I felt that either Christian Bale or Mark Ruffalo had this one in the bag.  Oh well.

Best Documentary Short Film:  Louis C.K. found a way to lighten up an otherwise dull presentation due to its heavy subject matter.  I agree that this award can genuinely change the lives for the winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness

Best Documentary Feature:  Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees for Amy.  Not a surprise here.  Amy was critically acclaimed at every turn and in every film festival it was presented in.  This was the equivalent of a Michael Moore documentary competing against the field.

A nice speech made by the president of the Academy regarding a more positive angle on the race issue in Hollywood, but despite the total combined political power in the entire auditorium, I feel this speech needs to be shared with the CEO’s and board of directors of every major studio and media conglomerate because they are the true gatekeepers.

In Memoriam was, once again, a classy remembrance of talented stars gone, but not forgotten.

Best Live Action Short Film:  Benjamin Cleary and Serena Armitage for Stutterer

Best Foreign Language Film:  Lazlo Nemes for Son of Saul

Best Original Score:  Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight.  There was lots of love from Quincy Jones and much love for Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein in Ennio’s speech.  Thank goodness they gave him time to have his short speech translated.

Best Original Song:  Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith for Spectre – The Writing’s on the Wall.  Well, if they gave one to Adele for doing a James Bond theme song they have to give one to Sam Smith for doing the same.  Was anyone surprised here?  Seriously, anyone?

Best Director:  Alejandro G. Iñárritu for The Revenant.  Why was J.J. presenting for this category when Alejandro won last year.  Oh yeah, because he can’t present it to himself and as soon as I saw J.J., I knew, it was Alejandro’s time once again.  Once again, an awful orchestral playoff to knock out his acceptance speech, but he stuck it through to finish strong despite the distraction.  Stop doing it!

Best Actress:  Brie Larson for Room.  Another actress who had political momentum leading into this evening as well as strong showings in festivals took home the gold.  She actually kept her acceptance speech very short and very sweet.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24519:]]

Best Actor:  Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant.  Finally.  It’s been a long time coming for the king of the world.  Leo pulled out all the stops on this one because it was full of raw emotion despite the fact it wasn’t a very talky role.  Pretty excellent as far as acceptance speeches go and whether or not you agree with his politics, you cannot argue with Leo’s sincerity.

Best Picture:  Spotlight.  Wow.  Holy cow!  No pun intended.  In an evening of politics, the filmmakers here call out Pope Francis. It appears as though the Left has heard the Right in the news these past few months and a ton of crazy rhetoric has not gone un-countered.  Hollywood drew its line in the sand regarding race, the environment, the church and the corporate conglomerate.  I’m not so surprised that this film won more than the fact it won with very little build up individually prior to this evening.  With Mad Max taking so many artistic and tech categories, it could have taken the grand prize.  Leo and Alejandro’s wins for two major categories could have done the same.  Everyone (other than the rich) hated Wall Street for the housing market disaster so there was a lot of talk for The Big Short.  Still, congratulations to the victors, and we will soon see the various responses to what has occurred this evening.

In Conclusion:  Another Academy Award show has come and gone and there was a solid mix of expected outcomes as well as surprises.  Chris Rock took early command of the show and kept hammering at the race angle all evening long.  Mad Max: Fury Road was more than a dark horse as the sheer number of categories it won had to have made it the second or third most important film of 2015.  Leo can finally return to his magical mountain of mystical fairy virgins with his golden trophy.  How about that big old goose egg for Star Wars?  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Straight Outta Compton was woefully snubbed because it featured some damn fine acting by a cast of relative newcomers, and it was a very entertaining film overall.

I will say this in regards to diversity in Hollywood.  Chris Rock made it very clear that more diversity means more roles, opportunities and recognition for black actors.  Well, it really means more than that because the Oscars aren’t the BET awards that he invited everyone in the audience to attend next year.  Yes, Hollywood IS “Sorority Racist,” but it needs equally strong recognition for Asians, Hispanics and far more cultures and ethnicities, too.  As I said earlier in this overview, the studio heads need to lead on this issue.  Unfortunately, IF the rumor is true regarding Hollywood coveting the Chinese market over all others, and IF the rumor is true that Chinese audiences don’t want to see black people in films they see, then no amount of socially responsible discussions and debates is going to amount to a hill of beans because white, yellow or black are colors that are irrelevant when compared to the color of green.

Thor 3 & The Avengers: Infinity Wars Will Feel Like A Hulk Standalone Movie Says Ruffalo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24083:]]

While there will be no standalone Hulk movie because the rights are not owned by Marvel Studios, Mark Ruffalo eases fans concerns as the actor lets it be known the Hulk will have an epic role to come in Thor: Ragnarok as well as The Avengers: Infinity War movies.

Ruffalo tells Yahoo the three films will actually make it seem as if the Hulk has a standalone film (which must mean the Green Goliath is featured rather prominently).

“I’d love to do a Hulk movie, but that’s beyond my control,” he said. “It’s controlled by Universal. Marvel doesn’t even hold the rights to it. So, it’s not on the horizon. And I don’t know if it will be.”

But we’ve worked a really interesting arc into ‘Thor 3′, ‘Avengers 3′ and ‘4′ for Banner that I think will – when it’s all added up – will feel like a Hulk movie, a standalone movie.

On Thor 3:

“Taika Waititi’s coming in and I love him. That’s a surprise and it fits part of this Marvel doing the unexpected, casting the unexpected, and now bringing in the unexpected for writer and director. I’m really interested in where that’s going.

“They’re writing the script now. I am thinking about it, I’m doing script meetings and stuff so we’re starting to prep it.”

The most recent rumors surrounding Thor: Ragnarok indicate some sort of adaptation of the Planet Hulk comic book. Is it possible following Thor 3 that Marvel Studios adapts the World War Hulk storyline as well?

“Thor: Ragnarok” as a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi also starring Chris Hemsworth and films in Australia.

Hela Rumored For Thor: Ragnarok & More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23947:]](fan art)

It’s being said that Hela will be the villain of Thor: Ragnarok, most likely played by Cate Blanchett as Mark Ruffalo previously let it slip she is playing a big baddie.

According to Geek.com, Hela will be similar to her comic book counterpart (ruler of Hel and the realm of Niflheim) and will make her way to Asgard where she will be in “cahoots with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.”

Details include:

• Hela might replace Death in the MCU (which may mean Thanos is in love with Hela and the two battle the Marvel heroes in Avengers Infinity War).

• Hela and Loki’s plan (currently unknown) will have well been underway before Thor realizes what’s going on.

• It’s said Hela is responsible for an incident which leads Thor on a journey in the film.

• Thor gets banished from Asgard.

• Hela destroys Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.

• Odin (which sees Anthony Hopkins return) has fled to Earth where he wanders around as a “end is near” crazy-looking street-corner hobo warning of the coming Apocalypse (Ragnarok).

Thor: Ragnarok Is A Universal Road Movie Says Mark Ruffalo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23931:]]

Empire caught up with Mark Ruffalo, who is currently promoting his latest movie Spotlight, and chatted with the actor about Thor: Ragnarok, which sees Ruffalo back as Banner and the Hulk.

Ruffalo said Thor 3 is a “road movie” (meaning a movie which sees the main character traveling, and/or on some sort of journey of self-discovery, etc.) and compared the film to the 1988 Midnight run movie starring Charles Grodin and Robert De Niro.

“There’s a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] De Niro.  I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner. It is a universal road movie – that’s where we’re heading. It’s not where you’d think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think.”

Ruffalo also commented about working with fellow Avenger, Chris Hemsworth.

“I love Chris [Hemsworth], and it’s not an accident that we’ve been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off. The fact that we’re moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship.”

And Ruffalo confirms Hulk will be on Asgard: “[Am I looking forward to that?] Hells, yeah.”

Mark Ruffalo also revealed Thor: Ragnarok will be shot in Sydney, Australia.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi.

Mark Ruffalo Confirms Cate Blanchett As Villain For Thor: Ragnarok? (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23735:]]

Cate Blanchett is said to be in talks for a “bad ass” character in Thor: Ragnarok, and now she might be confirmed for the movie as Mark Ruffalo may have let it slip she’s playing a villain in the movie.

ETOnline caught up with Mark Ruffalo at the BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party on Saturday and asked him about Blanchett.

“Cate Blanchett is supposed to be at the BAFTA event day, your Thor 3 co-star, I believe,” ET asked. “What can you tell us about the movie. Are you excited to work with her?”

“I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!'” Ruffalo replied. “She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting.”

Cate Blanchett also previously joked with Jimmy Kimmel she was playing a female Thor.

“Yes. Chris Hemsworth is busy, so I’ve bee working out,” Blanchett replied to being asked if she is in Thor 3.

Kimmel then questioned if that is a confirmation, to which Blanchett said, “They are just subsituting one Australian for another. Gender equality. Why can’t you have a female Thor?”

Sounds Like Merged Smart Hulk Is Coming In Thor: Ragnarok Or Avengers: Infinity War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23458:]]

We may see a merged smart form of the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok or even The Avengers: Infinity War movies.

Ruffalo previously teased that Banner and the Hulk would have a confrontation, and now Ruffalo talks about the two merging.

As fans of the comic books know, at times Banner and the Hulk have merged or one has over taken the other (due to various factors).

Speaking with AICN, Ruffalo offered the following:

He’s on the run. I think that we carry that through. It’s not just a matter of taking himself to some remote place and hiding. Now he’s removing himself from humanity altogether. I’m not sure where we’re going to head with that, but I’m sure that’s probably still very much alive within him. It’s very subtle, but the Banner/Hulk consciousness is beginning to meld a little bit. Who decided to leave? Was it Banner or Hulk? It’s not really in the [cinematic] mythology of Hulk up until that moment to be that conscious and pro-active. It’s interesting, right?”

“Yeah, I think it [will be fun]. I think it’s really exciting where we could go with it. Now I feel like we’re kind of in No Man’s Land. I mean, the comic books have kind of broached the subject, but we’re moving away from the traditional Hulk/Banner relationship. We’re starting to mess with it a little bit. Now we’re going to see how far we can push the limits of it before people get sick of it!”

The merged version (or a one-sided version) of the Hulk on the big screen would be interesting as it could mean the introduction of the Green Scar, the Hulk from Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

The merged version of the Hulk also brings up memories of the Peter David 1990s version (one of my favorites), which I consider more a superhero version of the Hulk, aka Prof. Hulk (and who also appeared in Infinity Gauntlet). I actually had Peter David sign my issue of Incredible Hulk #377 at the recent NYCC that featured the first Banner/Grey/ Green merged Hulk and asked him if he thought we would ever see that version in a movie. He said he doubted it and added this one of his favorite versions of the Hulk, too.

“Thor: Ragnarok” hits November 3, 2017.

No Hulk Movie Because Marvel & Universal Don’t Get Along Says Mark Ruffalo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23457:]]

Mark Ruffalo previously offered the reason there is no new solo Hulk movie is because Universal Studios owns the distribution rights.

Now Ruffalo exands upon the subject, talking with Yahoo, offering that Universal and Marvel don’t even get along.

“I think they’ve been working on it. Marvel and Universal famously don’t get along very well, and so that’s working against us, definitely. But I know for a fact that everyone is holding out hope that one day we can do it. But the nature of the relationship right now, it’s a little prohibitive. And I hope that that changes, that changes with regimes, it changes over the course of time. But right now it doesn’t look particularly promising.”

It’s noted that things are working out between Sony and Marvel (with Spider-Man), which Ruffalo offers that’s the hope for Universal and Marvel, but again says things are not good between the two.

Yeah, I think ultimately that’s what they’re after, it working out for both sides. But like I said, Marvel and Universal are just not having a good time together right now.

The gist of the problem seems to be a feud between Universal’s parent company, Comcast, and Marvel Studios’ own parent company, Disney, over a failed merger from back in 2004, as Ruffalo compares the battle to Marvel vs. DC.

I know. It’s like the Marvel Universe and DC going after each other.

While no solo Hulk film looks to be happening any time soon, the Green Goliath is slated to next appear in Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers: Infinity War.

Regarding a Hulk solo film, I wonder if the rights are in regards to the title of the film or if the majority of the screen time features the Hulk? Say for instance, Marvel simply didn’t use “Hulk” in the title (i.e. “Warbound”), would that be able to get by Universal’s distribution rights? Or what about if they gave a different character a minute of more screen time (i.e. Caiera) than the Hulk?

Update: Ruffalo hints at a smart Hulk for Thor: Ragnaork.

Michael Keaton Says Batman Could Beat Up The Hulk & Everybody Else

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22884:]]

Former Batman actor Michael Keaton is currently starring in Spotlight along with the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo.

ABC (via Geek Tyrant) caught up with Keaton to get his take on who would win between the two.

Keaton let it be known that not only could Batman beat the Hulk and everybody else, but that he could, too.

“Everyone needs to stop asking the question of who could beat up who. Batman kicks everybody’s a**. And if they won’t, I will, Bruce Wayne will.”

This isn’t the first time that Keaton has come out and proclaimed himself as Batman. Last December saw Keaton answer a question regarding if he is jealous that Ben Affleck is playing Batman by answering, “No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.”

Michael Keaton also appeared on Saturday Night Live this year which saw him reprise his Batman voice from the 1989 movie by stating, “I’m Batman.” The SNL Cast also tried to convince Keaton to don the cape and cowl once again.

Batman and the Hulk have fought in the comics, with the Dark Knight getting the upper hand over the Green Goliath.

Hulk Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity Wars; Loki For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22740:]]

It’s recently been learned that Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok, and now Ruffalo has confirmed the Hulk for the Avengers: Infinity War movies as well as Loki for Thor 3.

Regarding Loki, while it seems the inclusion of the Asgardian Trickster is a no-brainer, Tom Hiddleston recently questioned if he would be returning as he stated he hasn’t heard anything from Marvel in years; hasn’t heard about Thor 3, and also wondered if the fans wanted him back.

Now it appears we can all breathe a sigh of relief as Mark Ruffalo fills in USA Today that he has spoken with Thor 3 director Taika Waititi, and while Ruffalo doesn’t know story specifics, he does state Hulk, Thor and Loki will be in the movie.

I don’t know what the story is yet, but it’ll be (Loki) and Thor, and then I’ll be in there here and there. But I don’t know any of the particulars quite yet. I’ve talked to Taika a little bit and I like where it’s headed. … Chris (Hemsworth) and I have a really good time together, we goof off and play around when Tom Hiddleston is around. So it’ll be a lot of funny back-and-forth, especially with Taika, he does that really well. It’ll have that kind of antagonistic Odd Couple-thing going on.

As Hiddleston previously stated, it’s possible Marvel simply hasn’t informed him yet of the Thor 3 plans. Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi, two members of the Warriors Three, haven’t heard from Marvel as well, but are expecting the call: “I’ve heard that it’s on the cards,” Stevenson told IGN. “As far as Volstagg is concerned, should he be called with his other Warriors Three to protect young Thor again, within a heart’s beat he will be there. So, I am waiting to hear. I’m very excited about the whole thing actually.” Likewise, Levi told CBR: “No, not at all. As far as I know, they are still writing the script. Once that’s all buttoned down, I’m sure they will be making the phone call to whatever actors are involved.”

The USA Today article also makes mention of the Hulk appearing in Avengers: Infinity War:

…he will resurface in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War sequels…

And Ruffalo comments on the possibility of a standalone Hulk movie:

“Actually, it feels even further away. It’s not Marvel’s property, it’s Universal’s property. I don’t know. It seems really problematic.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release.

Mark Ruffalo Says We’ll See Thor Vs. Hulk In Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22681:]]

Thor: Ragnarok is confirmed to feature Mark Ruffalo as Banner and the Hulk with it previously said the Odinson will team up with the Green Goliath. Now we learn not only will the two Assemblers team up, but they will battle as well.

The NY Daily News caught up with Ruffalo who offered: “I don’t really know that much about it, but I think it’s going to be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner. I think they’ll probably fight. There’s no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point.”

Ruffalo continued with mention of what he does know about the film.

“I know that it’s about (the Norse legends of) ‘Ragnarok,’ or the end times in the Marvel universe as it pertains to Thor — which seems to be quite the theme these days in movies,” Ruffalo said.

As mentioned above, Ruffalo says the film with be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner, which is interesting as Ruffalo recently hinted at a separation between the Hulk and his human counterpart.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth.

Mark Ruffalo Teases Hulk and Banner Separation For Thor: Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22616:]]

With the Hulk going cosmic in Thor: Ragnarok it’s a wonder how they will fit in Bruce Banner, the Green Goliath’s fragile and puny alter-ego.

As the Hulk will be smashing side-by-side the Odinson on Asgard, will there be any room for Banner in the cosmos?

It turns out Kevin Feige may have an out (which potentially could work for a Planet Hulk movie) as Mark Ruffalo recently spoke to the Huffinton Post teasing Banner and Hulk may be featured on screen together.

“I play Dr. Bruce Banner, and occasionally I turn into a big green, mean monster,” Ruffalo offered. “I am excited to keep coming back to this role. I see a lot of space for it to grow. I feel like there’s a lot of cool stuff to explore still, especially the relationship between Banner and Hulk. Hopefully, we’ll see the two of them in a scene together. That would be cool!”

Fans of the movies and comics know that the Hulk and Banner are essentially the same person, but actually, the Hulk represents sort of a different personality. At times, Banner’s various personalities have triggered different Hulk versions such as the dumb Green Hulk, which is akin more to Banner’s infant years; then there is the Joe Fixit Grey Hulk – actually the first iteration of the Hulk – who is not as strong as his green brother, but comes off as more cunning and more adolescent-like (there have been other versions as well including Devil Hulk, and the popular Future Imperfect version, Maestro).

The Banner, Green and Grey personalities actually combined in one of my favorite story arcs, with the culmination being the smart Professor Banner Hulk (I asked Peter David at the NYCC if we would ever see the Banner Hulk in a movie to which he replied, “Probably not,” and noted it’s one of his favorite versions of the Hulk, too). So as Banner seemingly suffers from a gamma-irradiated multiple personality disorder, it’s possible Banner and Hulk might actually be separated in the movies. This has actually proved disastrous in the comics as the two can’t survive without the other, and in addition, the inclusion of Banner was a calming factor for the Hulk.

So without Banner, we might see a totally nutso Hulk in Thor 3, as some cosmic factor could explain how the two get separated (Doctor Doom also separated the two recently in the comics). Still, another possibility (and similar to the comics) is that Banner could have a conversation with the Hulk in his head, which they were ought to do in the comics. At times, the various personalities would be attempting to take control, with the battle taking place in Banner’s mind.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth.

Mark Ruffalo & Hulk Confirmed For Thor: Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22489:]]

Following the rumor from a couple of days ago, it’s now confirmed Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok.

Deadline confirms the news, as the site is essentially an “unofficial” voice for various Hollywood sources.

A second as-of-yet unconfirmed rumor also recently surfaced surrounding the Hulk and new director Taika Waititi stating Waititi was brought on board Thor 3 to lighten up the script and add in some humor as Marvel felt the Chris Yost-written script was too serious and dark. The same rumor also saw hints of Planet Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Hulk Rumored For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22423:]]

Following The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the exact whereabouts of the Hulk is currently unknown.

It was thought the Green Goliath would be appearing in Captain America: Civil War; however, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

So where will we see Banner next?

A new rumor has hit the net from JoBlo stating the Hulk will be in Thor: Ragnarok.

According to the report, Thor will team with the Hulk as Asgard faces a Norse Apocalypse.

The report further mentions that Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki, as there seemed question as of late if Hiddleston was set to return; Jaimie Alexander is also said to be back as Sif.

It’s also said a “distant planet” is involved in Thor 3 that is “not Asgard and not Earth” which is speculated to possibly be the planet Sakaar where the Planet Hulk Marvel Comics storyline took place.

Regarding Mark Ruffalo, the actor is said to be absolutely part of the supporting cast of Thor 3 and will be featured prominently as Banner.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Mark Ruffalo Says No Hulk For Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21950:]]

It looks as if those earlier reports of Mark Ruffalo filming in Germany for Captain America: Civil War were a tad bit off as Ruffalo has let it be known he is not in the movie.

At the recent Venice Film Festival, the Italian website BadTaste spoke with Ruffalo about the Hulk, where Ruffalo offered the following (translated):

Because it’s still missing is not known where. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end evidently believe that reveal what happened Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away.Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.

Ruffalo says the Hulk is still considered missing following Avengers: Age Of Ultron. He thought he would be in the film, but Marvel believes what happened to the Hulk is something too big to reveal in Captain America: Civil War, and Marvel wants to use the information later. Ruffalo also reveals he was a part of an early script, but then he was cut. Ruffalo continues with mention the revelation of what happened with the Hulk is a secret, stating it’s something really big.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Evangeline Lilly Scanned For Wasp Costume & Is Writing A Comic

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21762:]]

Evangeline Lilly is currently starring in the Ant-Man movie as Hope Van Dyne, daughter to Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne.

As seen in the Ant-Man post-credit scene, Hank Pym gave Hope the Wasp suit.

Now while participating in a fan Q&A on Facebook, Evangeline Lilly reveals she was scanned for the Wasp costume, but not able to try it on as she is currently about eight months pregnant.

Lilly also commented that she is writing a comic book next year, though it’s not a super hero character.

It was also previously revealed that Wasp has been cut from Captain America: Civil War, but there are big plans for Wasp in a future Marvel movie.

Check out what Lilly had to say:

Wasp Costume:

Oh! And I was scanned for #TheWasp suit, but then I got pregnant. Let’s hope I fit it again! #ineedtime! [winks]

No. I’ve been too pregnant

Writing a comic:

I am writing one next year. So, I have to keep it a surprise. It’s not a superhero, but she is a very cool heroine.

Fighting Hulk:

I love your ideas and will share them with Marvel! I would love to see Wasp fight The Incredible Hulk. I think she would just roll her eyes at his temper and fly circles around him until he was exasperated. smile emoticon Haha!

Difference between Edgar Wright and Peyton Reed’s Hope:

She became more relatable and a little less like an original, 1960’s comic book character. I LOVED both versions, but the version we settled with fit better in the #marvelverse. I’d still love to do Edgar Wright’s version, too.

On Marvel movies and who she would like to work with:

I haven’t seen them all, but I really liked Winter Soldier for the powerful political commentary and who doesn’t love RDJ as #IronMan?? That said, I would love to work with #MarkRuffalo. I think it would be fun to see the interchange between Paul and my tiny characters and him.

A cut scene:

You wouldn’t know it to watch it, but the dinner scene between #CoreyStoll’s character and mine had me in stitches when we shot it. They cut a lot out.

Mark Ruffalo Spotted In Germany For Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21603:]]

We may have confirmation of Mark Ruffalo in Captain America: Civil War.

While the Incredible Hulk actor has yet to be officially announced by Marvel Studios, news comes from Germany that Mark Ruffalo is filming scenes there for Captain America: Civil War with Chris Evans (Cap), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Daniel Bruhl (Baron Zemo).

Germany’s BILD states the actors have also been spotted at various night clubs and included images.

A guest at one of the clubs offered (translated), “Ruffalo and Mackie had fun, danced the whole time. They were one of the last at the club to seven o’clok and danced to electro music.”

While the Hulk wasn’t a part of the original Marvel Comics Civil War storyline, it’s being speculated that Captain America: Civil War may include the Red Hulk to match the Green Goliath as William Hurt returns to play Generaly Ross.

There was also news about the Hulk following the incidents in Avengers: Age Of Ultron as an Ant-Man viral video made mention of Tony Stark stating public concerns about Dr. Bruce Banner are baseless and irresponsible.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.
