Writer On Aquaman Offers Update On Setting & More

Will Beall, who also wrote an unused script for Justice League, is writing the Aquaman movie.

SlashFilm caught up with the writer at the recent Television Critics Association where Will Beall offered details on Aquaman‘s setting.

“I can tell you that not all of the action takes place underwater,” Beall said. “Some of the most fun action in the movie actually takes place on dry land.”

Will Beall also said the Aquaman movie script isn’t finished.

“Nope, I am still working on it with James [Wan] and Geoff [Johns],” Beall said.

Following Batman vs. Superman, Jason Momoa will be featured in the Justice League film. Beall says what happens in that movie isn’t affecting his Aquaman script.

“No, no, they know what’s happening,” Beall said. “Everybody knows what’s happening so it’s not that. It’s working out what’s going to make the best movie.”

The article also notes Will Beall wouldn’t confirm the rumor that Black Manta is the villain of Aquaman.

“Aquaman” has a July 27, 2018 release.

Cyborg Confirmed For The Flash Movie Again

It’s once again being said Cyborg will be appearing in The Flash movie.

Following producer Deborah Snyder already having confirmed Cyborg for The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller, and Flash director Rick Famuyiwa teasing a team-up, now Variety is stating more of the same.

Sources filled them in that Ray Fisher and Cyborg will be a part of The Flash, but in what capacity is unknown.

It’s noted Cyborg’s appearances in Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League and The Flash are intended to create interest for the character and the planned Cyborg 2020 movie.

Ray Fisher as Cyborg was fully revealed in the recent Justice League trailer, and the Batman vs. Superman cameo saw Cyborg created through use of one of three mother boxes located on Earth.

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release; “The Flash” hits March 16, 2018; “Justice League” 2 lands June 14, 2019.

James Gunn Was Offered DC Movies: Talks Shazam, Batgirl, Suicide Squad & More

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director James Gunn reveals he was offered to direct DC movies, though exactly when is unclear.

Gunn recently participated in a Facebook Q&A where he mentioned his favorite DC characters he would like to direct.

“I thought there was some amazing action sequences in Man of Steel, but I haven’t seen the other two films [Batman Vs Superman and Suicide Squad]. I’ve had opportunities to make DC films, but I haven’t said yes to anything, and not sure I would at this time,” Gunn said. “I’ve talked before about which projects appeal to me the most IF I was into making one, and it’s always Shazam and Metal Men and Swamp Thing and [Jonah] Hex and a few other DC IPs I’ve enjoyed for a great deal of my life.”

Gunn also let it be known that the Cassandra Cain version of Batgirl is one of his favorite female superheroes, and he talked about the fact that Suicide Squad topped his 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy movie at the August box office.

“It beat us first weekend,” Gunn said. “We almost made more money second weekend. And there is a very likely chance we’ll make more money at the end of the day (we made more domestically than BvS even). The great thing about Guardians wasn’t that it came in and made a ton of money but that so many people went and told their friends about the movie, who went to see it, and that people kept coming back again and again. By the time we were in the later weeks, we were making more money than any comic book film EVER, which was such an amazing feeling for those of us who put our hearts into it.”

Regarding the DC movies, Dwayne Johnson is attached to the Shazam movie as both a producer and the villain Black Adam; Justice League Dark (Swamp Thing) looks to have been axed in favor of an animated movie; Jonah Hex did just appear on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow last season, and a Metal Men movie was said to be in the works a few years ago directed by Barry Sonnefeld, which looks to have never gotten off the ground floor or is still waiting for the full green light.

James Gunn also said Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will probably get made, but he’s unsure if he will return to direct the third movie.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.

Synopsis:

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

Henry Cavill Teases Black Superman Justice League Costume

Looks like the black Superman costume is a sure thing for the Justice League movie.

Henry Cavill took to instagram to show off an up close look tagging the picture with “#Superman.”

In the comics, following the “Death Of Superman” DC Comics storyine, the Man of Steel returned with a black costume.

I wonder how they will explain the black costume in the Justice League movie? In the comics, Superman was brought back to life through Kryptonian technology, with the indirect help of the Eradicator. Maybe something similar?

Interestingly enough, Man of Steel gave us a glimpse of the black Superman costume in that Superman and Zod nightmare scene. Check out concept art below for that.

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Suicide Squad Producers Defend Cuts; Back Zack Snyder & Justice League

Following Suicide Squad‘s poor reviews, an article revealed that lots of cuts were made, and Jared Leto even let it be known that he filmed enough scenes for an entire Joker solo movie, even though the Joker appeared in only around ten minutes or so of the film.

Now the Suicide Squad producers, Richard Suckle and Batman producer Charles Roven, come out and defend all the cuts as well as back Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League director Zack Snyder, who was also a producer on Suicide Squad.

“Yes, there were a couple of different cuts of the movie, but they all really had to do with finding the final shape of the movie,” Roven told WSJ. “I’ve been doing this for a long time, and that’s not the first time something like this has happened, and it won’t be the last. And so sometimes in order to get the work done, you really just have to bring on more people and spend really long days and nights getting work done to get it ready.”

Regarding cutting Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad, Roven mentions that’s also part of the process.

“David Ayer shoots a tremendous amount of footage, and when it comes to things having to do with the Joker, Jared does many takes and all the takes are very, very different, and sometimes the scenes can go on for a very long time, and sometimes the scenes can be, when you’re more on page, tighter, etc.” Roven said. “Sometimes those impromptu scenes are fantastic, sometimes they’re not. That’s all part of the process. What you don’t want to do is you don’t want to limit the process.”

Following the Batman Vs. Superman fallout, as the movie never reached the billion dollar mark and received equally as bad reviews a Suicide Squad, rumors were flying that Zack Snyder might be let go from Justice League – which hasn’t happened – but Roven offers Zack Snyder has their complete support.

“I’m just saying you need to pay attention [to criticism], but you also need to stay true to your vision,” says Roven, who is also on board Justice League as producer. “Zack Snyder is a great director.”

Suckle also added that regarding Suicide Squad, “We’re ecstatic by the fan support and the fan reaction that we’ve received.”

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release, with “Wonder Woman” coming out June 2, 2017.

Dwayne Johnson Shazam Movie Connected To Justice League Universe

Details are finally made known about the Dwayne Johnson Shazam movie which sees the Rock starring as the villain/anti-hero Black Adam.

Johnson’s producing partner and manager, Dany Garcia, tells Newsweek that Shazam is set within the DC Justice League universe, and that Shazam won’t be featuring the same producers that worked on Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad, which have been receiving the blame for those two movies’ poor performances.

Shazam is to live in the same world [as the other films] but we have incredible autonomy over this brand and franchise,” Garcia said. “We are working with a different team, different producers, directors… it’s a different set-up. We don’t feel fettered by, or constrained by, the successes or failures and challenges of the other projects. That was a key component to our participation—that we be able to control the tone and the voice, and do it the way we want to.”

“It needs to be of the world,” Garcia continued. “You’ve got Justice LeagueWonder Woman with a different director, so you’re going to see different points of view. I think by the time we land with [Shazam] we’ll fit nicely within the world that’s been created, but not such a shorthand relationship. [It’ll be] enough that people say, ‘Oh, this is within the family,’ but the culture will be a little different.”

Garcia also let it be known they are presently getting the Shazam script right as they want to made sure they get the tone right for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.

Regarding Shazam being set within the DC Justice League universe, Dwayne Johnson did call out Henry Cavill’s Superman on two occasions on social media. Johnson posted that Black Adam vs. Superman wouldn’t happen in the first movie, “but nothing would make me happier. [Superman has] it comin’.” Johnson also posted a pic of himself a while back wearing a Superman t-shirt teasing, “No capes.”

Shazam currently has an April 5, 2019 release; no director or other actors are attached as of yet.

No Worries About Wonder Woman Movie

Following all the negative reviews for Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad, I’ve seen more than a few reactions state the same regarding the upcoming Gal Gadot Wonder Woman movie.

While it’s true that both Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad had their faults, they were at least enjoyable and lots of people did love them (I’m fond of the BvS Ultimate Edition myself).

Regarding Wonder Woman, this will be the first DC movie that Geoff Johns is directly involved with. Johns helped write the Wonder Woman script, and he was also on set in England. Following the Batman Vs. Superman fallout, Johns was elevated to President of DC Entertainment, and you can even argue he is in a better position than that of Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. While Feige is simply in charge of the Marvel movies, Geoff Johns is involved with all forms of DC: from movies, to TV, to comics to gaming. The Batman Vs. Superman fallout also saw various producers ousted from having much influence, so Wonder Woman probably won’t have the interference that Suicide Squad  (lots of cuts and versions) and even Batman Vs. Superman (didn’t let Snyder go ahead with his cut of the movie) had.

I’ve said it before, and I know some of you will bring up Green Lantern, but Johns was on board as an executive producer in most likely an advisory role. The writers of Green Lantern also recently came out and said not to blame them as the version of the movie was a lot different than their script. I think the pattern we see is that the execs/producers at WB (whoever they are) interfered with these movies a bit too much, but the good news is that they are apparently no longer involved.

Man Of Steel 2 Said To Be In Development

It’s reported Man of Steel 2 starring Henry Cavill is in active development.

Despite not hearing much about a sequel to the 2013 Superman Man of Steel movie, The Wrap reports sources close to WB filled them in that “Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.”

The article mentions no release date or director involved with Man of Steel 2, but WB does have two untitled DC films to be released on October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. The report also mentions the solo Ben Affeck The Batman movie will most likely be released prior to Man of Steel 2 as well.

It was said George Miller was involved with Man of Steel 2 at one point, but Miller said while he was involved in talks with DC, regarding Man of Steel 2 it probably wasn’t true.

Back a few months ago saw Henry Cavill make it known he would do Man of Steel 2 as well:

“I do believe it depends on the success of [Batman vs. Superman],” Cavill offered. “If this goes well then we can start to negotiate with Warner Bros. for a standalone Superman movie.  But they’ve got their plans set out for other stuff and Justice Leagues and various other movies, so it’s about finding the time, really.  It’s something that I would be very keen to do.”

Zack Snyder also offered that “part of the reason we didn’t announce a standalone superhero movie this time was to support some of the events of [Batman vs Superman].”

An official WB press release from almost two years ago aso saw word of more Superman movies:

And, in a massive expansion of the Studio’s DC Entertainment-branded content, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will release a slate of at least 10 movies—as well as stand-alone Batman and Superman films…

Zack Snyder also revealed a potential ending for their Man of Steel 2 if they didn’t go with Batman Vs. Superman, which would have tied to Batman:

Originally, it was going to be a straight Superman movie. One of the ideas was that at the end of the movie, a crate of kryptonite would be delivered to Wayne Manor. That didn’t happen, but once Batman was mentioned, he wouldn’t go away. It couldn’t be undone.

Henry Cavill will next be featured as Superman in the Justice League movie.

Here is the current DC line-up:

Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot (June 2, 2017)

Jai Courtney Didn’t Know About Flash In Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad included surprise cameos by members of the Justice League, which also turns out to be a surprise for Jai Courtney.

The movie revealed the background stories for the members of the Suicide Squad and how each Squaddie was caught. For Jai Courtney’s Boomerang, it was revealed The Flash had captured Boomerang during an armed robbery; however, Jai Courtney lets it be known that he only learned about The Flash after watching the movie.

“I didn’t f—ing know that was happening when we were filming. That was a surprise for me when I saw the film,” Jai Courtney told Business Insider.

Courtney continues with mention of how the scene was originally written in the Suicide Squad script.

“It was written like we didn’t really know,” Courtney said. “But it’s part of the roundup of the squad, so my interpretation was that he had been taken out by [Rick] Flag’s crew. But it’s not specified [in the script]. When I saw it, I was like, of course!”

The article notes that Jai Courtney filmed the scene with a green screen (and we can surmise with Ezra Miller filming The Flash separately and then added in post-production), with Courtney going on to talk how it’s a good thing that everything comes together.

“Totally. It was just a nice little thread. That’s what’s cool about all this,” Courtney said. “The potential for that to happen over the course of wherever all this goes is there. The relationships between these characters and different characters in other properties, too. The fact that we can all get into bed and mix it up, the future is bright in that sense.”

“Suicide Squad” is now in theaters directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown role.

Synopsis:

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Supervillains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Jason Todd Robin Suicide Squad Easter Egg Revealed

So far 2-for-2 as Jason Todd has been referenced twice with the release of Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad.

We all know the dead Robin suit from Batman Vs. Superman that’s in the Batcave, now we get another reference to Jason Todd in Suicide Squad with Harley Quinn.

As the members of the Suicide Squad were introduced, each member was given an intro featuring credits where it’s learned Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was involved with the death of Robin (see the image below).

“Accomplice to murder of ROBIN,” Harley Quinn’s intro says.

Joker killed the Jason Todd Robin in the comics as well as the DCEU.

It’s also been rumored that Jason Todd may come back in the upcoming solo The Batman movie as The Red Hood.

Regarding Robin:

WB did confirm it’s Jason Todd.

Robin died around ten years earlier or so in a run in with Joker.

Bruce Wayne is bitterly disappointed and has had previous devastating losses.

The loss of Robin contributed to Batman’s hatred of Superman.

Adam Beach Reveals Which Justice League Member Captured Slipknot In Suicide Squad

Spoilers for Suicide Squad follow.

Suicide Squad kicked off by revealing how most of the members got caught and landed in prison. One backstory we didn’t see was Adam Beach’s Slipknot.

As the Suicide Squad was forming, Slipnot got out of a vehicle and decked a female soldier/guard. I believe he also made reference to not liking women (or such).

Now Adam Beach reveals to Empire Magazine what went down with Slipknot leading up to that scene revealing he got into a tussle with a Justice League member, similar to Boomerang.

“David asked me, ‘So they kidnapped and caught you — what were you doing?’ I said, ‘Man, I was strangling Wonder Woman. What else was I doing?’ He started laughing,” Beach said (Slipnot’s weapon of choice is a rope).

Slipknot’s fate in the movie was also similar to what transpired in the comics, basically being set up by Boomerang; however, I believe Slipknot’s fate in the movie was much worse than what happened in the comic book story.

Suicide Squad Opens With Massive Start

Following up on Thursday’s record-breaking opening, Suicide Squad continues to crush it at the box office.

Suicide Squad opened Friday with a massive $65.1 million (which includes the $20.5 million from Thursday night previews) and is on track for an opening weekend gross of $135-$150 million. The number would give Suicide Squad the best August opening, far surpassing that of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s 2014 opening of $94.3 million. For another comparison, Guardians‘ Friday opening was $37.8 million, so we see Suicide Squad is doing exceptionally well.

The question is, however, does Suicide Squad have the legs that Guardians of the Galaxy had as Guardians went on to make over $773 million worldwide, and didn’t have the well known actors and characters (Ben Affleck, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Batman, Deadshot, Joker, Harley Quinn, Justice League cameos) that Suicide Squad has. Similar to the two previous DC movies – Man of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman Suicide Squad may start out strong, but fizzle in subsequent weeks. It’s no doubt that Warner Bros. has a major issue with making their DC movies work for the long haul.

Reviews continue to crush Suicide Squad, even more than Batman Vs. Superman, as Suicide Squad is currently at 26% at Rotten Tomatoes to Batman Vs. Superman‘s 27%. In addition, Suicide Squad‘s rating over at IMDb has dipped a bit and currently sits at 7.2/10 (Batman Vs. Superman has a 6.9). Viewers have also given Suicide Squad a B+ CinemaScore, with younger fans liking the movie (A to A-) more than older fans (B). Regarding the critics, it probably should be noted they gave Ghostbusters and Star Trek Beyond more positive reviews; however, they’re basically flops or fell flat at the box office, so it has to be questioned whether or not reviews actually affect how a film performs. More than likely, if it’s a good movie – it’s a good movie – and word-of-mouth plays bigger into a movie’s success than what the critics have to say.

It should also be noted that Warner Bros. has made changes to their DC movies following both Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad. As a result of the Batman Vs. Superman fallout, various producers have been removed from having a substantial influence on the brand. It was basically too late to remove them from Suicide Squad as it filmed prior to the release of Batman Vs. Superman, but with the upcoming release of Wonder Woman, Justice League and The Flash movies, DC’s Geoff Johns is co-running the films along with WB exec Jon Berg, which has seen Johns’ status at WB elevated to President Of DC Entertainment. Johns is also helping out with script writing. Ben Affleck is also now on board Justice League as a producer and is directing and co-writing (along with Johns) the upcoming solo Batman movie.

Suicide Squad isn’t a perfect movie, but it is lots of fun. Standouts include Will Smith’s Deadshot (who is rumored for the solo Batman movie); Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn (another potential solo movie there); Jai Courtney’s Boomerang was terrific and may have stolen near ever scene he appeared in; Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller was probably a bigger baddie than the Squaddies themselves; Jared Leto’s Joker, while appearing in only a few scenes, at least leaves the audience wanting more (which isn’t a bad thing by any means), and Jay Hernandez’s Diablo was well portrayed.

The bad for Suicide Squad includes Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress and Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag (guess we now know the real reason Tom Hardy turned down the role.) It should be said it’s not the fault of the actors, but the writing was just subpar, particularly with Enchantress and her brother Incubus. Ayer actually adapted the story from the Suicide Squad comics, but really dumbed it down as the actual comic book story probably would have required an R-Rating and was a lot more mature (less Ghostbuster-y).

It seems that Warner Bros. is still finding themselves regarding their DC movies, but they’re almost there. Suicide Squad just missed the mark and the Batman Vs. Superman Ultimate Edition was much better than the theatrical release. The turnaround may come with the release of Wonder Woman, which seems promising. Can’t give up on the DCEU just yet.

Suicide Squad Post-Credit Scene Leaks Online

The Suicide Squad post-credit scene has leaked online apparently from a Mexico premiere. Watch below.

Spoilers follow.

While actually a mid-credit scene (nothing appears directly after the credits), the Suicide Squad post-credit scene features Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne along with Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller.

It’s already known that Batman appears earlier in the movie as footage has been revealed with Batman chasing after Joker and Harley Quinn.

The Suicide Squad post-credit scene looks to further set up the Justice League movie as Amanda Waller gives Bruce Wayne files on metahumans, which contains Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen The Flash and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

Amanda Waller remarks to Bruce Wayne that he looks tired and should stop working nights — obviously knowing he’s Batman.

Bruce Wayne responds by suggesting she should shut down Suicide Squad, and then finishes up with a warning that if she doesn’t, the Justice League will.

Pretty cool.

Watch the Suicide Squad post-credit scene below. The movie opens tonight with advanced screenings.

Batman Vs. Superman Justice League Synopsis & Doomsday Featurette Released

A couple days ago saw new Doomsday concept art released, now check out a new Batman vs. Superman featurette about the Superman-killer.

WB has also updated the Batman Vs. Superman synopsis last month with the release of the Blu-Ray which includes mention of the Justice League characters:

Directed by Zack Snyder and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is a follow up to 2013’s Man of Steel and is the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. It was written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the first live-action film to feature Batman and Superman together, as well as the first live-action cinematic portrayal of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash. In the film, criminal mastermind Lex Luthor manipulates Batman into a preemptive battle with Superman, whom Luthor is obsessed with defeating.

The general public is concerned over having Superman on their planet and letting the “Dark Knight” – Batman – pursue the streets of Gotham. While this is happening, a power-phobic Batman tries to attack Superman. Meanwhile Superman tries to settle on a decision, and Lex Luthor, the criminal mastermind and millionaire, tries to use his own advantages to fight the “Man of Steel”.

Grant Gustin Reacts To Ezra Miller The Flash Justice League Costume

The recent Justice League Comic-Con trailer saw the debut of the Ezra Miller costume for The Flash.

At Comic-Con, Newsarama caught up with Grant Gustin, the TV Flash (separate universes), and got his reaction to the footage.

“Oh man, I haven’t seen this. I heard they might show it today, but I hadn’t seen it. That’s sick. I thought they might make it look like of like Injustice.”

“It’s totally different from our costume. I like that our costume is more of the classic version. That’s something I don’t think you’ll see anywhere else.”

We see Grant Gustin notes the Ezra Miller costume resembles the one from the popular Injustice: Gods Among Us video game which features The Flash wearing more of an armored costume. The Flash cameo in Batman Vs. Superman seemed to futher resemble Injustice, with the Justice League movie Flash costume toned down a bit from that.

Per Gustin’s words, it also seems that the movies won’t be going with the classic costume for The Flash, which is a good thing and keeps the TV series a part and unique from the Ezra Miller version (best of both worlds).

Grant Gustin returns in October on The CW for The Flash Season 3.

Check out images for the Grant Gustin Flash, the Injustice Flash, the Ezra Miller Batman Vs. Superman Flash, and the Ezra Miler Justice League Flash. You can also watch the Justice League Comic-Con trailer and The Flash Season 3 Comic-Con trailer below.

The second video sees Henry Cavill donning a V For Vendetta mask hitting the Comic-Con floor and surprising an unexpected Will Smith and the cast of Suicide Squad.

Matt Damon As Green Arrow & Hush Fan Art

With Matt Damon being best buds with Ben Affleck, is it inevitable that Damon will join the DCEU?

Damon recently said he would only join the DCEU if it was something that Ben Affleck directed, well how about Green Arrow?

The DC movies and TV universes are separate, so we won’t be seeing Stephen Amell on the big screen any time soon (unless they adapt Crisis), would Matt Damon make a good Oliver Queen?

If you are on the fence about it, maybe Boss Logic can help:  They put together the following piece of Matt Damon Green Arrow fan art.

Maybe if Matt Damon decides he doesn’t want to play a DC super hero, he might want to play a villain opposite Ben Affleck’s Batman. Boss Logic also put together the following Matt Damon Hush art.

Watch: Swamp Thing Animation Test For Live-Action Justice League Dark Movie

Following the Justice League Dark animated sneak peek, now test animation featuring Swamp Thing for a live-action Justice League Dark movie has hit the net.

At one time, WB was going to go forward with Guillermo Del Toro’s live-action Justice League Dark movie; however, now with the animated version coming out, it’s thought the live-action project is DOA.

Director Joseph Khan, known for Torque, Detention and Power/Rangers, posted a video on Vimeo of a Swamp Thing animation test he used to pitch Justice League Dark to WB.

“I pitched on Dark Universe before it became an animated movie. Here’s an 8 second test of Swamp Thing I designed,” Khan added.

At one time it was said Colin Farrell was going to play John Constantine in the JLD movie, with Ben Mendelsohn as the villain Anton Arcane.

Matt Ryan, the Constantine from the TV series, voices the character in the animated Justice League Dark movie.

Watch: Ezra Miller Talks Justice League & Black Flash At Comic-Con

Both Ezra Miller and Colin Farrell star in Fantastic Beasts (Farrell is also rumored for the DCEU), with MTV catching up with the actors at Comic-Con.

Ezra Miller discusses working on Justice League where mention of Black Flash comes up. Miller obviously knows his comics.

“When we were driving in here [to Comic-Con], you know the Black Flash, which is the character representative of Death for The Flash?” Miller said. “There was a really good Black Flash costume, and as I was driving by with the window open in my car, he pointed at me. And I was like, ‘I’ll be seeing you, man. I will be seeing you.’ I said that to him and he was like [points finger]. It was amazing [laughter].”

Ezra Miller also offered he loves to put on his Flash costume, with the “awesomeness” outshining the discomfort, and says he has done a lot of improv for his character in Justice League.

“I certainly have been… I have said very few lines the way they were written. I’m going a little crazy,” Miller said with a laugh.

Miller also says working on Justice League has been a blast.

“It’s just everything you hoped for and more. It’s an outrageous amount of fun. I spend every day in a state of sheer ecstasy.”

Ezra Miller talks Justice League, The Flash and Pokemon Go starting around the 6-minute mark in the video below.

Geoff Johns Promoted To President Of DC Entertainment

Update: It’s confirmed.

It’s being said Geoff Johns has been promoted to President of DC Entertainment, though Warner Bros. has yet to make an official announcement.

Johns, known for writing for DC Comics as well as being the DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, recently received new duties following Batman Vs. Superman.

It’s known Geoff Johns is working with WB film exec Jon Berg on the Justice League movies, so the promotion makes a lot of sense. Johns is also involved with DC TV and remains involved with DC Comics.

According to Bleeding Cool, Geoff Johns is both DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer and President, and still reports to Diane Nelson (who is also President of DC Entertainment). Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, DC Entertainment Co-Publishers, continue report to Diane Nelson as well.

It’s said the promotion happened because of the Batman Vs. Superman “fallout,” and explains the different approach the recent Justice League and Wonder Woman Comic-Con trailers took.

It’s recently become known that Geoff Johns also helped write the Wonder Woman movie script and wrote a treatment for Aquaman with director James Wan as well. Johns is also writing The Batman with Ben Affleck.

I’m sure someone will bring up the fact that Geoff Johns “executive produced” the Green Lantern flop; however, his role could have been more or less as a consultant. There’s also the fact that the writers of the Green Lantern movie, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, said not to blame themselves for the failure as their script was different than the final product. Reporters who took part in set visits even offered the storyboards they saw on the Green Lantern movie set (which looked cool) weren’t even a part of the finished movie (for whatever reason).

As I previously wrote, DC seems to be in good hands with Geoff Johns, unlike Marvel who is currently a house divided.

It’s also thought Geoff Johns is the reason why DC TV and the movies are now sharing characters played by different actors (Batman is now rumored for DC TV and Tyler Hoechlin will play Superman on Supergirl).
