Justice League Cast & Footage Speculated For Comic-Con

Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are already confirmed for Comic-Con, but Warner Bros. has made no mention of Justice League.

When asked, Ben Affleck did state, “Yep. We’ll be there.”

It’s possible that Ben Affleck, Zack Snyder and the cast of the Justice League will show up Saturday at Comic-Con as a surprise during WB’s big Hall H presentation.

The last couple of years has seen WB show up big time at Comic-Con, which included Batman Vs. Superman and Suicide Squad last year in addition to the reveal of DCEU concept art. Previous to that saw the DC Trinity appear for the first time with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot on stage revealing a first look at Wonder Woman. The prior year saw Zack Snyder make the announcement for Batman Vs. Superman.

In THR‘s report on WB’s presence at Comic-Con, they speculate the Justice League will show up as well, noting, “…it’s hard to imagine there won’t be a surprise appearance by the Justice League cast and a splashy sizzle reel from the film to accompany them.”

With Marvel Studios appearing this year (they skipped out on Comic-Con last year) bringing Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Doctor Strange and Black Panther (possibly more with Captain Marvel speculated), it’s probably safe to assume DC will answer with the Justice League cast.

WB’s Hall H presentation with the confirmed cast of Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad takes place Saturday, July 23, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe as an Atlantean.

Watch: The Batman Trailer (Fan-Made)

Following the super cool Justice League fan-made trailer, check out one for the Ben Affleck solo The Batman movie.

The trailers come from the Stu Whitten YouTube channel.

WB has yet to announce the official title and release date for The Batman. The latest rumors mention The Batman may incorporate Arham Asylum heavily into the plot with lots of Batman villains featured.

Both Affleck and Geoff Johns are writing The Batman, which looks to feature an original story, and may be released in 2018 with Affleck directing as well.

The Batman Movie Rumored To Be Based On Arkham Video Games Again

It’s once again being said that the solo Ben Affleck The Batman movie may be somewhat based on the popular Arkham video games.

We were first told about the possiblity a few years ago, and now Batman On Film is claiming The Batman movie could see Bruce Wayne locked up in Arkham Asylum surrounded by his enemies.

The 2009 Batman: Arkham Asylum video game saw the Joker trap Batman in Arkham where the Caped Crusader fought his way through various villains including Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow.

There’s already been a rumor that The Batman would feature numerous Batman villains, so the Arkham Asylum connection makes sense, and also at the end of Batman Vs. Superman, we saw Bruce Wayne make mention he still has connections at Arkham and was sending Lex Luthor there.

If they do go the Arkham Asylum route for The Batman, it’s probably safe to assume it won’t be a straight-up adaptation of the video game. Ben Affleck recently said they were going with an original story for The Batman, which would borrow various elements from the comics.

The Batman movie has no announced release date, but we could find out more at this week’s Comic-Con. Affleck recently confirmed an appearance.

Regarding Justice League, Simmons says he hopes to appear in future Batman movies and is lobbying for further appearances.

Watch more below.

First Look At Zack Snyder On Justice League Set

Hail to the king, right?!

Following the stellar release of the Batman Vs. Superman Ultimate Edition many fans have changed their tune in regards to Zack Snyder.

He’s no longer #HackSnyder, he’s become #ZackAttack!

Check out a first look at Zack Snyder on the set of the Justice League movie along with his cinematographer, Fabian Wagner, who also happens to be the DP for Game of Thrones.

I recall following some of the Justice League set visits that many articles compared the movie/visit to a Marvel film. Let’s hope not! The Batman Vs. Superman Ultimate Edition was pretty darn good. The Marvel movies, at least for me, while fun and entertaining, don’t really leave me with anything as nothing really happens in them. Zack’s right! They’re basically just popcorn movies with bland basic villains and no ramifications. Sorry, the Marvel films are getting way too predictable and have been following the same formula for too long.

Keep Justice League as intended and don’t change it because of the Marvel and Disney cronies!

Look for more about Justice League and the DCEU at this month’s Comic-Con.

Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe in an unknown role.

Kiersey Clemons In Talks For The Flash & Justice League Movies

It’s being reported that Kiersey Clemons is in talks for the female lead in the Ezra Miller The Flash movie.

Variety reports Clemons, who starred in Flash director Rick Famuyiwa’s Dope movie, is up to play Iris West.

It’s further said Kiersey Clemons will have a cameo role in the Justice League movie prior to her full appearance in The Flash.

Update: It’s also being said Rita Ora and Lucy Boynton are up to play Iris West.

The Flash currently has no release date as WB recently announced the new Tomb Raider movie for March 2018. Best guess is The Flash may be released in April 2018.

It’s also speculated Ray Fisher will star in The Flash as Cyborg.

Charles Dance Rumored For Justice League Villain Steppenwolf

With Justice League filming in Iceland and the cinematographer being the director of photography for Game Of Thrones, how about Charles Dance as the villain, Steppenwolf?

Charles Dance, known for playing Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, might be up for Justice League. The info comes from a Twitter account, so this could be another rumor to take with a grain of salt.

Charles Dance might not be a bad choice for one of Darkseid’s generals. If you saw the SyFy miniseries, Childhood’s End, Dance played the alien leader Karellen (see below), which came off rather well, I thought.

While Steppenwolf was cut from the Batman Vs. Superman theatrical version for some odd reason, the scene does make its way into the Ultimate Edition. Zack Snyder and WB also released the deleted scene following the debut of Batman Vs. Superman in theaters. The scene goes a long way to explain why Lex acts the way he does at the end of Batman Vs. Superman and also helps set up the Justice League movie. Watch it below.

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe as an Atlantean.

Colin Farrell & Michiel Huisman Rumored For Justice League

It’s being said that both Colin Farell and Game Of Thrones‘ Michiel Huisman are up for Justice League.

The info comes from some Russian Twitter site, so obviously take this with a grain of salt.

The info might hold some truth as Colin Farrell was said to be rumored for Constantine in the Justice League Dark movie at one time, but the JLD DCEU movie doesn’t look to be happening as WB recently announced a Justice League Dark animated movie. Perhaps with the JLD movie not happening, it left Colin Farrell up for another role? Farrell also happens to be starring in WB’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Regarding Michiel Huisman, who plays Daario Naharis on Game of Thrones, it’s possible he could have a Justice League role as the JL cinematographer happens to be Fabian Wagner, who is the DP for Game of Thrones. There was also that Justice League concept art of Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju, so it sounds that at least WB might have their eye on some of the GOT actors.

Any guesses as to who they could be playing?

“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe in an unknown role.

Justice League: J.K Simmons Commissioner Gordon Will Be Bad Ass

J.K Simmons has been cast as the new Commissioner Gordon for the DCEU Justice League universe.

EW caught up with Simmons noting his Gordon is an “ally” to Batman, with Simmons offering filming Justice League has “been a fun experience, and knock wood, if it continues, then I’ll hopefully get to play Commissioner Gordon in a handful of movies.”

Regarding what type of Commissioner Gordon we’ll see in Justice League, J.K. Simmons offers he’s going to be more bad ass than previous incarnations (speaking of bad ass, check out how jacked Simmons got for the role here).

“People of my generation remember Commissioner Gordon as this jolly, ineffectual Santa Claus type, and I think over the years in the comics there’s definitely much more of a badass side to him,” Simmons explained. “One of the things that’s interesting to me is investigating hopefully a little bit more of that badass [side]…You’re living in a universe where it’s pretty tough to be a badass compared to somebody like Batman, but in the universe of non-superheroes I like the idea of Commissioner Gordon as a guy that can take care of himself, a guy that’s a real partner to Batman, not just a guy that turns on the bat signal and goes, ‘Help! Help, Batman!’”

Simmons also previously talked about doing his homework for the role.

“I’m just planning on learning as much as I can about him through the comics and getting my feet wet in the first movie, and then hopefully continuing on from there,” Simmons said. “I’m sure there will be differences and similarities with what Gary Oldman or Pat Hingle have done before, but I’m just going to try to do my take on it and be as informed as I can about the rich history of the Batman universe, going into it.”

J.K Simmons continues with mention about how strong his Gordon is in the DCEU.

“My understanding, from what I’ve learned so far about Commissioner Gordon, is that he’s the older guy with the mustache who relates with our hero in a certain way,” he said. “Other than that, it’s a vastly different character and much more of a stronger, impactful character in the DC universe.”

Jared Leto In London: Is It For Justice League?

Zack Snyder is currently filming the Justice League movie in London, and now Jared Leto is there.

It’s unknown if Jared Leto is in London for a Joker appearance in Justice League, but the actor did take to his social networks to announce he is in the city (via reddit).

Jared Leto stars as the Joker in Suicide Squad, which hits August 5th. It’s thought Jared Leto’s appearance isn’t just a one-and-done, but it’s speculated Leto has signed a multi-picture deal to appear as the Clown Prince of Crime.

It’s possible Jared Leto could cameo in the Justice League movie as the Joker, which would be followed up by a large role in the solo Ben Affleck Batman movie (some fans think Red Hood).
