While it has been said the new Batman movie will film this Spring and be released in 2018, there apparently is still no guarantee it will happen.

Echoing earlier statements that he won't make a mediocre Batman movie, now in a new interview with the Guardian, Ben Affleck still won't confirm the Batman movie is definitely a go.

“That’s the idea. But it’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it,” Affleck said.

Ben Affleck also went on to state he donned the cape and cowl for his son.

“Sam thinks his dad is Batman,” Affleck laughed. “That’s an incredible feeling.”

While Affleck makes it sound as if the Batman movie has a chance of still not happening, in a previous interview Ben Affleck did state he is excited for the Batman movie.

“We’re on the right track with that and everything is coming together,” Affleck said. “We’re still finishing up a script. I’m very excited.”

The Batman movie currently has no release date and Affleck is co-writing the Batman script with Geoff Johns; Ben Affleck will next appear as Batman in Zack Snyder's Justice League, out November 17, 2017. It's also been said Justice League 2 has been pushed back to make room for Affleck's Batman movie.
