Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson & Anthony Mackie Spotted For Captain America: Civil War In Germany

Joining Daniel Bruhl and Sebastian Stan, now set pics from Germany for Captain America: Civil War reveal Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Anthony Mackie.

An earlier report also stated Mark Ruffalo is in Germany for filming, but images of Ruffalo, who is yet to be confirmed for the movie, have yet to surface.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Ghostbusters Reboot Confirmed By Drew Pearce

In addition to the Paul Feig female Ghostbusters, it’s confirmed Sony is developing a second Ghostbusters reboot.

While presently unknown if the two Ghostbusters movies will be in the same universe, Mission Impossible and Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce confirms he has finished the script.

“Obviously it’s top secret, but there’s a gigantic bold idea that I came up with,” Pearce told MTV. “And the Russo brothers — who did Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are doing Civil War at the moment — and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it. Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year’s time you’ll know!”

Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt have been mentioned as possibilities for the new Ghostbusters, with Pearce confirming the idea – at least – is to use them.

“That’s definitely the cast we’ve been thinking about as we approach the project,” Pearce offered. “Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It’s just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they’ll do.”

Regarding the shared Ghostbusters universe, Pearce says he wants it to happen.

“My personal inclination is to try and make everything occur in the same ’Ghostbusters’ universe, because I feel, as a fan, that’s what I would want,” Perace said. “Standing here in New York, you just wanna tie it all together. Whether that happens or not we’ll see, but I’ve certainly given them the tools to do that, I hope.”

Paul Feig’s previously mentioned he is not involved with the new Ghostbusters (male-led) reboot.

New Spider-Man Costume Possibly Teased By Russo Bros.

Update: Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirms the Twitter account is fake.

Update #2: James Gunn deleted the above tweet fueling further speculation the Twitter account is in some way legit.

Is this a possible peek at the new Tom Holland Spider-Man costume for Captain America: Civil War?

Images surfaced on the “Russo Bros” Twitter account (unknown if official) possibly teasing a red and black Spider-Man costume.

In addition, it appears as if the “Sokovia Accord” is the movie version of the Civil War superhero registration act, as Sokovia was the city destroyed in Avengers 2.

Some of the other images appear to tease Peter Parker’s high school, the Ten Rings and possibly Spider-Man’s camera.

Joe Quesda, Marvel’s CCO, recently stated the new Spider-Man costume is awesome and that it will blow people away.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Marvel Announces Russo Bros. On Avengers Infinity War Films

Marvel has officially announced that Joe and Anthony Russo will direct The Avengers 3 and The Avengers 4. made the announcement that includes mention Captain America 3 will start filming soon.

As anticipation and excitement build to a fever pitch for Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the blockbuster sequel to the third-largest movie of all time, Marvel is proud to announce Joe and Anthony Russo will join the franchise as the directors of Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2.”

The Russo brothers first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” one of the top-grossing film’s from 2014, and are currently preparing to shoot Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War.” The third film in the Captain America franchise will bring the classic storyline from the comics to life pitting Cap (Chris Evans) against Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), as well as introducing Black Panther to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with actor Chadwick Boseman ahead of his own film later in Phase 3.

Before stepping behind the camera for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War,” the Russo brothers served as Executive Producers and directors for many TV series, including “Community” and “Happy Endings.” Joe and Anthony earned a Primetime Emmy award for their work directing the pilot episode of the cult-hit “Arrested Development” series. Their film debut was “Welcome to Collinwood”, produced by Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney.

Russo Bros. Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity War 1 & 2

Joe and Anthony Russo are confirmed to direct The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2.

The Russo Bros. will be taking over from Joss Whedon for the third and fourth installments of The Avengers movies.

It’s reported both parts of The Infinity War movies will shoot simultaneously starting some time in 2016.

THR is also speculating that the Russo Bros. will most likely reunite with Captain America: The Winter Soldier writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, whom also collaborated on Captain America: Civil War, to script the two-part Avengers: Infinity War films.

The Russo’s will start filming Captain America: Civil War next month, which stars most of the Avengers actors including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.

In addition to signing on fore the Infinity War movies with Marvel Studios, the Russo Bros. look to be ever busy as they also signed a three year first-look deal with Sony. The duo has also been rumored to be involved with the new Spider-Man in a producing capacity.

Captain America: Civil War hits May 6, 2016; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 has a May 4, 2018 release, with Part 2 a year later on May 3, 2019.

Male-Driven Ghostbusters With Channing Tatum & Russo Bros. Being Developed

In addition to the all-female Ghostbusters, Sony is also developing a male-driven Ghostbusters movie.

Deadline reports Anthony and Joe Russo, who just signed a first-look deal with Sony, look to be attached to direct and produce the new male Ghostbusters movie, with Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce penning the script.

Channing Tatum is also set to be onboard as a producer, with it likely that Tatum will star as one of the new Ghostbusters as well (recently leaked Sony e-mails revealed Tatum was interested in Ghostbusters along with Chris Pratt).

It’s further reported that Sony has plans to expand the Ghostbusters franchise as a “Ghostcorps” – a new production company – is being formed to oversee the franchise, which will have original director Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd involved (more than likely Aykroyd will be featured in the new Ghostbusters).

The female Ghostbusters movie will launch July 2016 and marks the start of the new franchise from director Paul Feig starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.

“We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment,” Reitman said. “This is a branded entertainment, a scary supernatural premise mixed with comedy. Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016. He’s got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come. The second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that. Drew will start writing and the hope is to be ready for the Russo Brothers’ next window next summer to shoot, with the movie coming out the following year. It’s just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies.”

Russo Bros. Sign First-Look Deal With Sony

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19480:]]Anthony & Joe Russo At Captain America: Winter Soldier Premiere

Joe and Anthony Russo are developing The Gray Man at Sony, and now it’s learned the duo behind the likes of Captain America: Winter Soldier have signed a first-look three-year deal with Sony, which is set to kick off this April.

“Joe and Anthony Russo are terrifically exciting filmmakers with a sensibility that matches the tastes of audiences worldwide,” Sony producer Doug Belgrad said in a statement.

“Joe and Anthony Russo have demonstrated their ability to bring excitement, audacity and phenomenal commercial success to a variety of genres and endeavors,” added Michael DeLuca and Hannah Minghella, “and we are proud to add them to the family. Their original voices and fearless execution are a tremendous addition to our studio.”

“We’re thrilled to make a home at Sony Pictures, and to be partnering with the entire team,” Joe and Anthony Russo said in a joint statement. “The studio has created an environment that is not only collaborative, but truly filmmaker-friendly and we’re excited to begin developing both new and ambitious material with them.”

The Russo brothers are directing Captain America: Civil War for Disney/Marvel and The Avengers Infinity War movies.

Previous leaked Sony e-mails also revealed interest in Spider-Man by the Russo brothers. Sony has yet to announce a director on the new Spider-Man (or a new actor), but the Russo’s seem a perfect fit.

Leaked: Chris Pratt & Channing Tatum Ghostbusters Spinoff

Additional information regarding Sony’s Ghostbusters plans have leaked as a result of hacker attacks against the company.

In addition to details that Ryan Gosling, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, and Lizzy Caplan are interested in the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, it’s become known a possible spinoff may be made.

The Ghostbusters spinoff would feature Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt; Captain America directors Joe and Anthony Russo would be on board as producers, with Ghostbusters 3 director Paul Fieg possibly directing.

The Daily Mail got ahold of a batch of e-mails revealing Tatum’s enthusiasm as he compares the spinoff to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

“Let us show the world The DarkSide and let us fight it with all the glory and epicness of a HUGE BATMAN BEGINS MOVIE. I know we can make this a huge franchise. Fun adventure craziness. COME OONNNN!!!”

An email from Hannah Minghella, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures, was then sent to Amy Pascal, head of Sony movies, outlining the possible plan:

“They want to make it simultaneously super scary while also super funny. They love the idea that they are mortal heroes who are believers in the paranormal and the only people who can defend mankind from a paranormal threat. I know we’re mid negotiations with Paul [Feig]. I’m not sure whether we’d ever develop two different versions simultaneously. Joe Russo is open to the idea that both movies could be developed in partnership so they compliment one another within the same Ghostbusters universe. Apparently the Russos are very close to Paul and Joe suggested Paul could be attached to direct both. Personally I think it’s possible for the female version to co-exist with this other version so maybe they’re not mutually exclusive.”

It’s currently unknown if the Ghostbusters spinoff was approved, as Pascal replied only with:

Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt starred together in the 2012 movie 10 Years.

Other leaked info revealed Tatum involved with a crossover between Jump Street and Men In Black.

Leaked: Russo Bros. Offered Avengers 3 & 4; Could Produce Spider-Man

The leaks continue at Sony as a result of a series of hacks.

It recently became known that Marvel wanted Spider-Man to come home and be featured in Captain America 3.

Now, further insights into the potential deal are made known through additional e-mails.

The Brazilian website,, managed to get ahold of a series of e-mails and exchanges from co-chairman of Sony Pictures, Amy Pascal.

Pascal had communications with the Russo Bros., who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are directing Captain America: Civil War for Marvel Studios.

The e-mails reveal that the Russo Bros. are likely to direct The Avengers Infinity War: Part 1 and Part 2, and they assured Pascal that regardless what happens with The Avenger 3 – Part 1 and 2, they are still going to direct the Gray Man movie for Sony, in which they want Robert Downey Jr. to star.

Another e-mail reveals that Joe Russo told Pascal they can produce Spider-Man as a result of a new contract. It’s unclear if the Russo’s would be working independent of Marvel or for both Marvel and Sony.

Venom, Sam Raimi, Sinister Six, Jeff Robinov

Pascal also talks about the future of Spider-Man at Sony where e-mails reveal the state of the franchise is up in the air.

Spider-Man producer Avi Arad asked Pascal to greenlight the Venom movie based on sales and promotion of the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes line, which prominently features the character.

In an update on an earlier report about Sony asking Sam Raimi for assistance, the new e-mails reveal that Raimi has had talks with Sony about Spider-Man.  Pascal also remarked that while Raimi did a great job with his first two Spider-Man movies, she compared Raimi to “Joel Schumacher” with the third.

Another interesting conversation is revealed with the former head of Warner Bros. movie studios, Jeff Robinov, who was behind The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel, and is now with Sony. Robinov seems pretty adamant that Pascal and Sony not make a deal with Marvel.

“You can’t go back to Marvel,” Robinov is quoted as saying.

The exchange continues with Pascal revealing just how unsure she is with Sony’s Spider-Man plans as she responds, “I’m worried Sinister Six might not be the right [way to go],” and, “I just have the Spider-Man universe and not the Marvel universe.”

Pascal then asks Robinov for further help, with Robinov actually recommending Stan Lee or someone else in the industry with credibility and knowledge of Spider-Man.

“Can you help me figure it out tomorrow? Unless I make the partnership with Marvel and Spider-man to join their world, I’m running out of options,” Pascal said.

Russo Bros. Rumored To Direct Infinity War and Avengers 4

Captain America 2 and 3 directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, have been named as possibly taking the reins from Josh Whedon for the Avengers movies.

In their report regarding Daniel Bruhl being cast in Captain America 3, Deadline reports they keep hearing that the Russo Bros. will possibly direct The Avengers: Infinity War Part I and II.

It’s also stated that in addition to Chadwick Bosemann being featured as Black Panther in Captain America 3, that Sebastian Stan will reprise as the Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie will be back as Falcon, in addition to Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow being involved.

Another name that has previously surfaced to take over for Whedon and The Avengers is Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

Captain America: Civil War has a May 5, 2016 release starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.

The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 has a May 2018 release followed by Part II with a May 2019 release.

Captain America 3 Directors Said Civil War Is Highly Unlikely (Video)

Two days ago saw word hit that Robert Downey Jr. has signed on to star in Captain America 3, with the storyline adapting the Marvel Comics Civil War event that pitted hero vs. hero, and namely, Iron Man vs. Captain America.

Interestingly enough, the directors of Captain America 2 and Captain America 3, Anthony and Joe Russo, talked about Civil War being a part of the Marvel Studios universe about a month ago where Joe Russo stated it was too complex and highly unlikely.

You know it’s really a function of how much story can you fit into this universe. Certainly we know Thanos is coming. There is a a lot of story real estate that needs to be covered in order to tee up what is clearly going to be a massive storyline. Would something like Civil War ever fit into that? I don’t know. It’s complex. There is a lot of characters. Marvel doesn’t have ownership over some of the key players in Civil War. I would say it is probably doubtful, but you know I don’t run Marvel, so I can never say to you that it couldn’t happen, but I would say it’s probably highly unlikely.

The original report surrounding Captain America 3 and Civil War stated the event would play out into the Marvel movies for years to come. It also said there was some contention getting Robert Downey Jr. signed, which is possibly why Joe Russo was hesitant about talking about Civil War. Of course, it’s also possible that Joe Russo simply wanted to steer people away from the fact that Captain America 3 will feature Civil War and lead into The Avengers 4 and the other Marvel movies.

Regarding Marvel Studios not having the rights to the key players that took part in the comic book storyline, obviously similar to the other Marvel movies, the films would be an adaptation of the comic book event and go a different route.

Marvel has yet to officially confirm the news.

About Those Captain America 2 Red Skull Rumors

Spoilers follow for Captain America 2.

It was rumored that Alexander Pierce, played by Robert Redford, in Captain America 2 was actually the Red Skull, and that through use of the cosmic cube from Captain America: The First Avenger was somehow transported 70 years into the future and into Pierce.

After seeing the movie, we all know that isn’t true, and now Captain America 2 co-director Anthony Russo comments on the Red Skull rumors (via io9).

We did hear that rumor. Fans are always trying to tie everything back to the mythology, and sometimes it’s good to subvert expectations. We wanted a very grounded villain for this movie: Redford as a top level bureaucrat. He’s sort of the Henry Kissinger for this generation, who’s gone bad. That felt like that fit more into the struggle that Cap was going through in the film and it was a better villain for him to oppose. A sort of ideological villain, versus a science fiction creation?

Russo also teases the fate of Crossbones, which was played by Frank Grillo, possibly hinting at an appearance in Captain America 3.

What we’ll say… We won’t confirm or deny, but this could be perceived as an origin story for Crossbones.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is currenly playing in theaters.

Joe & Anthony Russo Confirmed For Captain America 3

At the end of January it was said that Joe and Anthony Russo would be back for “Captain America 3.”

Now that news is confirmed as the Russo brothers state they are in the midst of the story, but interestingly enough they want to hear how the fans react to Captain America 2 before really proceeding.

Via Collider:

Well now that Kevin [Feige] said it that means we can talk about it, I guess.  That’s great.  We’re just in the formative stages of it right now.  We just started breaking story with [screenwriters Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely and we’re just getting an idea of what we wanna do with it.  It’s crazy working on it before the movie even comes out because you want to see what people respond to in the movie.  You want to get some inspiration from what people like about the film so you go, ‘Okay, this is what we gotta lean into in the next movie’ or ‘this is what we should move away from, this didn’t work so well.’  So we’re just in that phase of breaking story but waiting to see how people respond to the movie.

The initial rumor also stated Chris Evans would be back as Captain America; however, Evans recently said he wants to take a break when his currently Marvel contract expires. Whether his current contract includes “Captain America 3” is unknown at the present time, but Evans will be back for The Avengers 2.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits April 4th.

Captain America 2 Has More Action Than The Avengers

Fans may have been spoiled by all the action in the third act of The Avengers movie, but Joe and Anthony Russo are hoping that you have room left for seconds.

And if the trailers for Captain America: The Winter Soldier are anything to go buy, we may need to have room for third and fourth helpings.

In the latest issue of Total Film, The Russo Bros. talk about the amount of action in Captain America 2, stating it might be more than seen in The Avengers and at the same time compares it to a couple of classics.

“We grew up on Scorsese. We grew up on Copolla. We studied The French Connection 50 times. And we’ve been waiting for a long time to find a project like this, that would allow us to explore those interests,” Joe Russo said.

The comparison to the 70s films, however, doesn’t necessarily mean a lot of talking will be going on as Joe Russo continues.

“There’s a lot of action in this movie, as much as Avengers, if not more,” he said. “But there is also a lot of character work. So it sort of goes between the two. It’s very important to us, when there’s an action set-piece that it’s driving the story in some way, that there are stakes involve. Just like a ‘70s thriller.”

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has an April 4, 2014 release directed by the Russ Bros. starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily Van Camp, Hayley Atwell and Robert Redford.

Check out the Cosmic Book News Avengers Hub for more.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Russo Bros. & Chris Evans Said To Be Back For Captain America 3

With Captain America: The Winter Soldier set to premiere in less than three months time, word comes that Marvel Studios is looking ahead to “Captain America 3” as it’s reported the third installment will see the return of Joe and Anthony Russo to direct.

Variety has it that both of the Russo brothers will be back, with no official word as of yet from Marvel.

While a third film depends on the success of Captain America 2, it’s stated a plot outline is being developed as well as a release date.

It’s also said that Chris Evans is expected back as Captain America (perhaps shooting down rumors the actor is getting replaced), and that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will be back to produce.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits April 4th directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

Anthony Russo Talks Captain America 2: Big Fan Of Comics; Getting Brubaker Involved; Set Present Day

As confirmed at the recent San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have brought on the Russo Bros. – Anthony and Joe – for Captain America 2 aka “The Winter Soldier.”

Anthony Russo recently discussed coming onboard the movie with the Huffinton Post where he let it be known that he and his brother are big fans of the comic books.

We were comic book geeks from a young age and big fantasy geeks. We got to talk to them in detail about that history. They knew that we understood the brand really well and the characters really well. It was a long process, actually, of talking to them over and over again, through a series of meetings over a long period of time. And I think they just — we were really passionate about the movie, incredibly passionate about the movie. They felt that, and they felt like it was the right match.

Speaking of the comic books, Russo let it be known that they would be in talks with Captain America comic books scribe, Ed Brubaker.

We’re actually going to have lunch with Brubaker soon. But no, they haven’t been involved. In the same way that they would develop a new comic-book series, they give its own space to develop. But certainly everybody is aware [of what’s in the comics], has read everything, is aware of all their other material. But they do like each thing to be its own, organic process, which is nice.

And while none of the plot was discussed, Russo did confirm that the movie would be set in the present day, which is a switch from the original plan of having Captain America 2 set in the past.

The ‘40s stuff worked so well in the first movie, and I know Marvel was thinking about maybe doing an in-between story, because [they] just like that era. Do you have any insight into why they wanted to go ahead and keep it set in the present day?

You know, I actually don’t know, to tell you the truth, how that debate went. That was before we entered the picture and I never actually asked them about that.

After the huge success of The Avengers movie, fans have been wondering if any of the Assemblers will be appearing in any of the upcoming Marvel Studios movies. While Feige has been pretty adamant that none of the Avengers will cross-over, at least here, Russo doesn’t exactly state “no.”

That’s the something that — Marvel would shoot me if I answered.
