New Supergirl rumors match what we first reported and what I posted on X from WonderCon on Friday night.
I posted that the budget is higher than the recently reported or guessed $100 million figure.
The new chatter also says that more David Corenswet as Superman has been added, along with Jason Momoa’s Lobo, which aligns with what I’ve been told.
Earlier reports also pointed to iffy test screenings and a runtime around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The latest update keeps all of that in play.
It has also been reported by the trades that Supergirl is a red flag and a pricey risk.

Supergirl has reportedly screened at least eight times
World of Reel now says Supergirl has now gone through at least eight test screenings.
The report says three different endings have been shown. The latest cut screened last week in California and reportedly runs around 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Previous runtime rumors had the movie in the same range (same as The Marvels), so the number has stayed fairly consistent, even with the different cuts.

More Superman has been added
The site adds that the newest cut includes additional Clark Kent and Superman scenes with David Corenswet.
That lines up with what I was hearing and what I posted Friday, that reshoots involved adding more Superman.
Update: James Gunn just released a new Supergirl spot featuring David Corenswet as Superman with word the new trailer drops Tuesday. A new image of Jason Momoa as Lobo has also been released:
While at Wonder Con, insiders told me that Jason Momoa’s Lobo was originally said to have only around five minutes of screen time. World of Reel also says what I was previously told, that Momoa’s Lobo makes a strong impression and adds “despite the limited screentime.”
Worth a mention is that more Superman and a stronger Lobo presence also fit with the idea that the movie costs more than the $100 million figure people started throwing around online.

Mixed reactions continue
World of Reel also says reactions remain mixed. Earlier reports said the same thing, so none of this is coming out of nowhere.
Milly Alcock’s performance as Kara is again said to be one of the movie’s strongest parts.
The action sequences reportedly do not fully land, with the blame landing on director Craig Gillespie. Krem is also said to feel underwhelming as the villain.
Those were already the kinds of concerns floating around the movie, and this latest update keeps them alive.

Three composers and changing endings
Regarding the composers, I’ve been told that Junkie XL did not fit with Supergirl because his music sounded too close to Zack Snyder’s style, which didn’t work for this movie at all.
They’ve brought in a new last-minute composer, Claudia Sarne.
Going through three composers and multiple endings suggests they have been reworking the tone and structure, again what seems up to the last minute.

Darker tone, planet-hopping structure
The report also describes Supergirl as darker and more character-driven than a standard superhero movie.
Kara is said to be jaded, reckless, and shaped by emotional trauma and moral ambiguity.
The use of music and needle drops is described as similar to Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
The editing is also said to have an episodic, planet-hopping structure, with the movie playing like a space western.
