A new Chinese poster for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released, and with it comes a plot synopsis that appears to reveal major spoiler details about Tom Holland’s next Spider-Man movie.
The synopsis says Peter Parker is still forgotten by everyone after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter now alone and protecting New York by himself.

Spider-Man Gets Organic Webs
It also reveals a big twist: Peter suffers a genetic mutation that unlocks organic web-slinging abilities, while also causing him to lose control of his body.
The biggest detail from the Chinese synopsis is the apparent reveal that Spider-Man gains organic webbing.
Via the translated synopsis:
“When Peter Parker is forgotten by the world, having lost his best friend and his beloved, he returns to the streets alone to protect the entire city. However, a genetic mutation causes his body to suddenly spiral out of control. At the same time, various evil forces take advantage of the situation, plunging New York into crisis once again. Facing an unprecedented foe, can Spider-Man break free from this desperate situation and emerge reborn?”
A second translated version goes even further, stating that the genetic mutation “unlocks his new organic web-slinging abilities,” but also “robs him of control over his body.”
The organic webs are a big deal for Spider-Man fans. In the comics and most versions of the character, Peter uses mechanical web-shooters. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies famously gave Tobey Maguire’s version organic webs, which became one of the biggest changes from the comics.
Now it sounds like the MCU version could be getting his own spin on that idea. Recent images and toys have also teased that Spidey uses gamma-powered web shooters to battle the Hulk.
Peter Parker Is Alone After No Way Home
The synopsis also confirms the emotional setup for Brand New Day.
Peter is forgotten by everyone after Doctor Strange’s spell in No Way Home. MJ and Ned no longer know who he is, and Peter walks away from them to keep them safe.
The Chinese synopsis leans directly into that, describing Peter as having lost his best friend and the woman he loves. It also says he is now alone, roaming the streets and carrying the burden of protecting New York as Spider-Man.
This lines up with what Marvel has been teasing about Brand New Day being a more classic Spider-Man movie. Peter has no Avengers backup, no Tony Stark tech safety net, and no one left in his personal life who remembers what he lost, save for maybe Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner.
The Hand, Tarantula, And Boomerang Spoiled?
The synopsis also appears to reveal some of the threats Spider-Man will face.
According to the translation, The Hand is “advancing in force with overwhelming numbers,” while Tarantula and Boomerang launch attacks on Spider-Man.
That also fits with one of the newly surfaced images showing Spider-Man with a throwing star stuck in his shoulder. Fans already suspected the weapon could be tied to The Hand, and this synopsis adds more fuel to that theory.
The Hand is best known as a ninja organization tied to Daredevil, Elektra, and Marvel’s street-level side. With Jon Bernthal back as The Punisher, Michael Mando returning as Scorpion, and the movie looking much more grounded, The Hand would make sense for the type of story Brand New Day appears to be telling.
Tarantula and Boomerang also fit Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. Both are street-level villains, and both would help move the movie away from multiverse stakes and back toward a New York crime story.
A Mystery Figure Watches From The Shadows
The translated synopsis also mentions a “mysterious figure” watching from the shadows, with the character’s true identity unknown.
It isn’t clear who that could be. The obvious guesses include Michael Mando’s Scorpion, a bigger villain pulling the strings, or possibly a surprise Marvel character being held back from the marketing. The synopsis asks if the figure is friend or foe, so it may not be a straight villain reveal.
Brand New Day Sounds Bigger Than Expected
Spider-Man: Brand New Day already looked like a street-level Spider-Man movie based on the recent images of Punisher, Scorpion, Bruce Banner, and Spider-Man wounded by a throwing star.
The Chinese synopsis now suggests the movie may also include body-horror-style mutation elements, organic webs, The Hand, Tarantula, Boomerang, and a mystery character watching everything unfold.
Marvel and Sony have not officially confirmed all of these plot details, so treat the synopsis as spoiler-heavy but still worth keeping in the rumor column until more official information is released.
