Fandango Crashes With Star Wars: The Force Awakens Ticket Sales

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22541:]]

About twenty minutes ago saw Fandango announce that Star Wars: The Force Awakens tickets had gone on sale.

Well, similar to the UK, the Fandango web site has crashed.

The Fandango web site puts out a 503 error as it’s getting too much traffic.

I was actually on the site about an hour or so ago, and it said tickets were going on sale at 10pm ET, but it appears they actually went on sale at 8pm ET.

Twitter has already been lit up about the Fandango site crashing, with some noting they were able to get tickets.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a December 18, 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Marvel Studios Vs TV Rumors Said To Be BS

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22529:]]

It was recently reported that a split has occurred between the Marvel Studios division, led by Kevin Feige, and the Marvel TV/Comics division, led by eccentric Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter, which also includes the Marvel Creative Committee consisting of Joe Quesada, Dan Buckley and Brian Michael Bendis.

The initial report about the split stated that following “several years of frustration,” Feige recently “vented his unhappiness to Horn and Disney CEO Bob Iger earlier this summer” which now means Kevin Feige will report to Disney studio chief Alan Horn instead of Perlmutter.

No specific reasons were cited, but following the release of the report, the rumors started flying.

Long story short: Basically (from my perspective), what went down is that following the first report of the split, new rumors surfaced that seemed overtly pro-Marvel Studios with the blame being aimed in the direction of Pelmutter and the Marvel Creative Committee.

That’s when Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool stepped in and contacted his Marvel Comics sources (Johnston has been involved in comic book news/gossip/rumor reporting for the past 23 years).

According to Johnston, his Marvel Comics/TV sources filled him in that:

• Disney considers Avengers 2 a failure with the reasoning being in part Kevin Feige

• Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 will have production budgets of $500 million

• Disney is laying off Marvel TV employees connected to Perlmutter

• Marvel Studios is cancelling the Inhumans movie (which was spearheaded by Perlmutter as an effort to promote Agents of SHIELD)

• Marvel Studios is interfering and stopping the Iron Fist Marvel TV Netflix series.

Now Forbes blogger Mark Hughes is stating the Marvel Studios vs. Marvel TV rumors are all BS – calling them “rubbish” –  offering Avengers 2 isn’t considered a failure, there is no evidence Inhumans is being cancelled, Infinity War movies will not have a $500 million budget, and that Marvel Studios isn’t trying to “harm” Marvel TV or cause the cancellation of the Iron Fist Netflix series.

The Fobes’ report goes on to mention there is nothing to back up Johnston’s claims, and offers the reason the rumors are BS is because Johnston got them from Marvel TV/Comics sources at the recent New York Comic-Con late night at the bar scene. It’s more or less stated the rumors from the Marvel TV/Comics people were exaggerated because liquor was involved and that they are just simply disgruntled employees, which happens in the work place any time a split/differences occur.

Johnston is sticking by his guns, however, as he responded to the Forbes report on Twitter: “have spoken to a no. of Marvel execs, East and West, well away from bars, who would vehemently dispute this.”

If there really is no “Civil War” taking place within Marvel, there is at least one going on in the blogosphere (spin from both sides) with the winner obviously being what comes to fruition in the months to come. Will we have an Inhumans movie? Will Iron Fist be cancelled? Time will tell…

Watch: Good Morning America Teases Star Wars: The Force Awakens For Monday

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22517:]]

We finally have some concrete evidence that – something – Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting on Monday.

A user on Instagram posted the following video of a Good Morning America (airs on Disney’s ABC) promo that states something new from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming.

As it’s been reported a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer will be released Monday during NFL Monday Night Football, it’s possible Good Morning America may confirm the trailer release with a new spot featuring a bit of new footage.

Interestingly enough, similar to the ESPN tweet, the official GMA Twitter account deleted a tweet announcing the news as well (screen shot follows video). It’s also been stated tickets go on sale Monday.

OMAC Speculated For Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22510:]]

Following Cosmic Book News breaking the story that Doomsday will not be featured in Batman Vs. Superman, a fan theory has surfaced online suggesting OMAC will be a villain.

The gang over at the Super Hero Hype Message boards have put forth a rather convincing argument that Zack Snyder will be tying OMAC into LexCorp and Lex Luthor.

Perhaps one of the most visually compelling arguments comes in the form of the LexCorp logo from the trailer and the art of OMAC from the comics which share the same color scheme:

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22509:]]

The recent Batman Vs. Superman LexCorp viral video also seemingly teases the involvement of OMAC :

At LexCorp Industries, we believe in technology that unites us, where inspiration, innovation and imagination all come together to create a greater tomorrow, today. Now, LexCorp is proud to announce Lex/OS the world’s most private and secure operating system. Engineered with the protection you need, and the freedom you want. To celebrate, please enjoy our free Lex Wi-Fi throughout this venue and visit our LexCorp booth for your free charging device. LexCorp and the New Lex/OS, providing the safety and confidence we need in an ever changing world. Let’s build a better tomorrow.

With Luthor stating:

We are on the cusp of unveiling a technology that will change the world forever. It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.

In the comics, the OMACs are humans transformed by a Brainiac virus into living machines/cyborgs that are used to assassinate any and all beings with superpowers created by the Defense Department and LexCorp. In Batman Vs. Superman, it’s possible Lex may create OMAC with the use of Zod’s corpse.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

No Doomsday For Batman Vs. Superman; Visual Effects Completed

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22505:]]

The visual effects on Batman Vs. Superman have finished as a 3D creature artist who works at MPC posted the above on image Instagram and also revealed Doomsday is not in the film.

“Batman v Superman is wrapped, one the best films i have worked on! My inner child is happy!” Sean Ray added. “I’m the biggest superman fan ever! So it was a dream to work on it! Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen in March! I can’t wait!! Good job everyone who worked on it.”

It’s long been rumored and speculated that Doomsday would be featured in Batman Vs. Superman (with some thinking Michael Shannon playing the part); however, the artist responds in the comments the Superman villain is not in the film.

“Hahaha lol unfortunately he’s not in the film, maybe in the man of steel squel or justice league film who knows,” Ray said responding to being asked if he created a model for Doomsday.

Vin Diesel Wants Giant Groot For Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (Video)

Not only did Vin Diesel tease Black Bolt (and maybe Adam Warlock), but in a recent interview Vin Diesel said he wants to see Gigantic Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

While Guardians of the Galaxy ended with the dancing baby Groot, obviously since Groot is plant-based, he can grow to the full size of a tree.

“I’ve talked to James Gunn about that. I can’t give it away but I would love to see gigantic Groot,” Vin Diesel told IGN. “I’d love to throw him into a forest and see how much mass that he consumes after devouring all the trees.

“Imagine throwing him into Central Park in New York City. I just want to see Giant Groot,” he said.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has a May 5, 2017 release.

Watch: Vin Diesel Show Off Black Bolt Impression; Teases Adam Warlock?

On more than one occasion Vin Diesel has teased playing Black Bolt in the Marvel Studios Inhumans movie with the latest being that Vin Diesel recommended his Witch Hunter co-star Rose Leslie for a role and teased that his “presence” would be used for another character.

Now while in London speaking with IGN, Black Bolt is brought up again with Vin Diesel offering his impression.

“If I said one word, I would level all of London,” Vin Diesel offered in the above video.

Vin Diesel continued with mention about talking with both Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige as well as his father about super hero roles.

“It would be… put it this way, when Kevin Feige started talking to me about… who would ever think?” Diesel offered. “A voice for one thing and presence for another would be pretty genius – it’d be pretty genius.”

It should be mentioned that Vin Diesel as Black Bolt isn’t confirmed (he could very well be playing Lockjaw in some form), and note that Vin Diesel didn’t specify what Feige was talking about, but check out what his father told him, which may actually hint at Adam Warlock.

“Whenever my father sends me an email, at the end of it he says ‘stay human’ – and it’s cool and beautiful, but what is he really trying to say. Is he trying to say I’ve been affected by Terrigen Mist? Does he want to cocoon me again?”

Relative to the character of Adam Warlock is that Warlock is an artificial human who was born/reborn in a cocoon. Warlock is also quite the presence in the Marvel Cosmic universe, wouldn’t you say?

Inhumans has a July 12, 2019 release.

Mark Ruffalo & Hulk Confirmed For Thor: Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22489:]]

Following the rumor from a couple of days ago, it’s now confirmed Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok.

Deadline confirms the news, as the site is essentially an “unofficial” voice for various Hollywood sources.

A second as-of-yet unconfirmed rumor also recently surfaced surrounding the Hulk and new director Taika Waititi stating Waititi was brought on board Thor 3 to lighten up the script and add in some humor as Marvel felt the Chris Yost-written script was too serious and dark. The same rumor also saw hints of Planet Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.
