Justice League vs. Teen Titans Animated Movie Announced

The movie is being directed by Sam Miu with James Tucker on board as supervising producer.

The voice cast includes: 

Jon Bernthal (Walking Dead, Dardevil, Punisher) as Trigon, described as “a ruthless demon who shares a long comic book history with the Teen Titans.” 

Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Raven, a member of the Titans and daughter to Trigon.

Jake T. Austin (The Fosters) as Blue Beetle; Brandon Soo Hoo (From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy; Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb) as Starfire; Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Sean Maher as Nightwing; Jason O’Mara as Batman; Jerry O’Connell as Superman; Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, and Christopher Gorham as The Flash.

Justice League Vs. Teen Titans arrives this Spring with the story about: Robin gets sent to work with the Titans after his volatile behavior botches a Justice League mission. The young team then must really step up to face Trigon after he possesses the League and threatens to conquer the world.

The original story is written by Bryan Q. Miller (Smallville and Defiance), with the script by Milller and Alan Burnett; Phil Bourassa did the character designs, and Sam Register is executive producer.

Kevin Smith Describes Justice League Special: Wonder Woman In Action & More

Tonight following the return of The Flash sees the two part special air on the CW with DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow: Their Time Is Now and DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League.

Regarding the latter, which will be hosted by Kevin Smith and DC Entertainment chief creative officer Geoff Johns, Smith recently offered the following on his podcast:

“They show footage, new footage of Batman v Superman. They show footage from the Wonder Woman movie that they’re shooting right now, which includes shots of Wonder Woman in action doing some shit you’ve never seen before. Then the whole fucking thing wraps up with the debut of the Suicide Squad trailer.” 

Regarding Suicide Squad, Smith also offered:

“I think this is their Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s going to be a sneak fucking stealth hit.”

The Flash returns at 8pm ET; The DC specials kick off at 9pm ET.

Who knew Captain America had such a weak stomach?!

Check out pics of Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the upcoming Civil War movie for Marvel, hunched over at the side of the speedway after suffering from a bout of motion sickness while being a passenger in an Audi R8 V10 for the UK’s Top Gear.

The problems don’t end there as Car Throttle reports the return of the show has seen its share of issues ranging from audio problem to reports of “meddling management,” and a production team that knows nothing about cars.

Top Gear was recently revamped following the departure of popular host Jeremy Clarkson.

According to reports, professional race car driver Sabine Schmitz had to pull over at the Monterey, California race track to give Evans some time recuperate.

James Earl Jones Rumored As Darth Vader For Star Wars: Rogue One

This probably shouldn’t be all the surprising, but it’s being rumored that Darth Vader will be featured in Star Wars: Rogue One and that James Earl Jones will return to voice the character.

The info comes from Making Star Wars that states Darth Vader’s iconic costume from Episode IV: A New Hope is being recreated for Star Wars: Rogue One. It’s further suggested that a new actor looks to be cast in the suit as the physical Darth Vader.

It’s said Darth Vader looks to be used in the movie “as a prominent player in a few scenes and something to fear for the heroes,” and it’s noted this would fit with Episode IV that sees Darth Vader chasing the stolen plans at the start of A New Hope.

James Earl Jones did return to voice Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels, so obviously a part in Rogue One wouldn’t be out of the question.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” has a December 16, 2016 release directed by Gareth Edwards starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in Rogue One, and Riz Ahmed.

Synopsis:

Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theory States Rey Has A Different Name

With all the theories surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Snoke’s identity comes to mind), is another one that just might hold some merit, which suggests Daisy Ridley’s character may have a different name than Rey.

The speculation/theory arises out of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Rey’s Survival Guide book which is written from the point of view of Rey, in a diary/journal format.

Remember the scene in the movie featuring Rey with the X-Wing pilot’s helmet? Well, the Survival Guide reveals information why Rey has it, as well as the name of the pilot — Dosmit Raeh. We know Rey was dropped off on Jakku at a young age. Is it possible she was abandoned without anyone knowing her name? If she was hidden on Jakku, which some theories suggest, to hide her lineage, she might not even have had a name. We see Rey comes upon the helmet at a young age and makes up stories about the X-Wing pilot. It’s possible she might have even taken the pilot’s name – Raeh – as her own, “Rey.”

Further evidence comes from the novel, Before The Awakening, which states Rey “calls herself Rey.”

Of course, this the brings up the question as to who Rey really is: A Skywalker? A Solo? A Kenobi?

Early scripts for Star Wars: The Force Awakens were said to have used the name: Kira Skywalker.

How About Daniel Radcliffe As Wolverine?

With Hugh Jackman retiring from the Wolverine role (or not), who should be the next actor to play the role?

I’ve previously recommended Tom Hardy (as has Hugh Jackman), but now fans on Reddit have brought up another name — Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe.

Before you snub your nose at the thought, bear in mind Radcliffe is arguably closer to the comic book version of Wolverine than Hugh Jackman, as Radcliffe is a lot shorter in real life (and just as hairy).

As some of the fans pointed out, pack some muscle on Daniel Radcliffe, and we might have our next Wolverine.

Regarding Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is thought to be appearing in Deadpool, possibly participated in reshoots for X-Men: Apocalypse and will star in the sequel to The Wolverine in 2017. Jackman may have also teased Wolverine 4.

Connie Nielsen Cast In Wonder Woman Movie; Robin Wright Role Revealed

It’s reported Connie Nielsen has nabbed the role of Wonder Woman‘s mom.

Variety reports Nielsen has been cast as Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons and mother of Princess Diana, aka Wonder Woman.

It was previously said that Robin Wright, who was already cast in the movie, might get the role, but now it’s said that didn’t happen, and Robin Wright is playing Wonder Woman’s aunt (possibly Antiope).

Connie Nielsen is known for Gladiator, The Devil’s Advocate, The Good Wife and The Following.

Wonder Woman has a June 23, 2017 release directed by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Maz Deleted Scene Description

Check out a description for a pretty awesome scene that was cut from Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring Maz using her Force powers and fighting Stormtroopers.

The info comes from SFX supervisor Chris Corbould (via the Collider).

CHRIS CORBOULD: There was a particular part of a scene that never made it, where they go underneath the castle and they’re going into the underground passageways, and stormtroopers are coming down the stairs and Maz uses her powers to collapse the ceiling.

From my point of view, [that] worked absolutely brilliantly because you had all the main actors running up and then Maz does her bit and then the whole ceiling collapses in front of them, but that never made it. That was a shot I was quite proud of, actually, it worked really, really well.

Other deleted scenes included more aerial combat dogfighting, a snowspeeder chase, more of the Rathars, Kylo Ren turning on his lightsaber, and a shot of Maz placing the Skywalker lightsaber into the hand of Carrie Fisher’s General Leia.

Hopefully the scenes makes their way on to the Blu-Ray, and also check out a cool video going over Star Wars: The Force Awakens deleted scenes and rejected concepts.

Ryan Gosling Comments On Blade Runner 2

Ryan Gosling is set to star in the sequel to the 1982 Blade Runner film.

While not much is known about the film and Gosling obviously can’t say much, the actor told Total Film magazine that it’s a “dream project” and more.

“With Blade Runner 2, first of all, I have to say that if  say too much about it, I have a chip in my neck that will explode my head, so I have to be careful choosing my words… But it’s a dream project. I’m such a huge fan of the original  and then to work with Denis Villeneuve, who I’m a huge fan of as well, and Roger Deakins, and Harrison Ford, and Ridley Scott, on extending that story – and it is an extension of that story, it is a really intersting extension of that story and the world – is a dream. I’m very excted. The original’s an incredible film, it’s an amazing world, it’s the reason so many people have borrowed from it, and it’s exciting to actually be able to go into that world.”

Ridley Scott also previously offered the following about the opening:

“We decided to start the film off with the original starting block of the original film. We always loved the idea of a dystopian universe, and we start off at what I describe as a ‘factory farm’ – what would be a flat land with farming. Wyoming. Flat, not rolling – you can see for 20 miles. No fences, just plowed, dry dirt. Turn around and you see a massive tree, just dead, but the tree is being supported and kept alive by wires that are holding the tree up. It’s a bit like Grapes of Wrath, there’s dust, and the tree is still standing. By that tree is a traditional, Grapes of Wrath-type white cottage with a porch. Behind it at a distance of two miles, in the twilight, is this massive combine harvester that’s fertilizing this ground. You’ve got 16 Klieg lights on the front, and this combine is four times the size of this cottage. And now a spinner [a flying car] comes flying in, creating dust. Of course, traditionally chased by a dog that barks, the doors open, a guy gets out and there you’ve got Rick Deckard. He walks in the cottage, opens the door, sits down, smells stew, sits down and waits for the guy to pull up to the house to arrive. The guy’s seen him, so the guy pulls the combine behind the cottage and it towers three stories above it, and the man climbs down from a ladder – a big man. He steps onto the balcony and he goes to Harrison’s side. The cottage actually [creaks]; this guy’s got to be 350 pounds. I’m not going to say anything else – you’ll have to go see the movie.”

“Blade Runner 2” is being directed by Denis Villeneuve, produced by Ridley Scott, with Harrison Ford set to return as Rick Deckard.

The latest issue of Total Film magazine interviews Diane Lane in which she comments about being Superman’s mother in Man of Steel as well as returning for Batman Vs. Superman.

“I always said if I had a son that would be the ultimate test. Raise a good man — there’s something noble about that,” Lane said about Superman.

Regarding Zack Snyder and Batman vs. Superman:

“I’m endlessly impressed with his imagination. Who gets offered the opportunity to bring such things to the screen for millions of people? That’s tremendous. It’s an honor and a burden and I can’t imagine shouldering that load. He also has a whole bunch of children — he’s a force of nature. He’s got his plate full and likes it that way.”

The latest issue of Total Film Magazine features director Paul Feig describing each of the characters from the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot:

Melissa McCarthy is Abby Yates
The brains of the group, Feige describes Abby as a “paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist, entity trapper.”

Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holzmann
Director Paul Feig says she’s a “nuclear engineer, munitions expert, proton wrangler.”

Kristen Wig as Erin Gilbert
According to Feig, Erin is a “particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior.”

Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan
And finally, the braun. Feig reveals Patty’s a “ghost tracker, municipal historian, metaphysical commando.”

Bill Murray also described the cast as a “great hope” and offered, “I like those girls a lot. I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to.”

“Ghostbusters” has a July 15, 2016 release directed by Paul Feig starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey will play the villain of the movie, and Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver are confirmed to return.

Captain America: Civil War Spider-Man Introduction Rumored

A new rumor has hit the net regarding details on how Spider-Man will be introduced in Captain America: Civil War.

From the Ant-Man movie (“we got guys who climb up walls”) and interviews with Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers, it’s already known that the Tom Holland Spider-Man will be established in the MCU (no more origin stories).

Now the website Geek.com is possibly providing further details.

According to a source in the know, Peter Parker decides to fight crime as Spider-Man because he is a big fan and idolizes Tony Stark/ Iron Man. It’s said Captain America: Civil War takes place ten years or so after the first Iron Man movie, so Peter would have been 5 years old when he first saw the news broadcasts about Iron Man.

It’s further said Tony Stark has been keeping tabs on “a certain young genius and his superhuman abilities” and goes to Peter Parker to recruit him with an offer of an “advanced Spider-suit to fight in,” which is an upgrade from whatever the 15-year-old Peter Parker has been wearing. Obviously as Peter is such a big fan, he is completely in awe of Tony Stark showing up at his door and accepts the offer.

We can even speculate that further evidence to support the theory/rumor comes from the viral marketing surrounding Ant-Man as the [fictional] WHiH news reports mentioned Tony Stark setting up scholarships for “promising students” in urban schools (i.e. Peter Parker).

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. Yvonne Strahovski, Sean Maher and Travis Willingham will be featured guests when Warner Bros. Home Entertainment presents the world premiere of Batman: Bad Blood at The Paley Center for Media in New York on January 19, 2016.

Director Jay Oliva and character designer Phil Bourassa will join the trio of actors for red carpet interviews and a post-screening panel at the spotlight event to celebrate the release of the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Original Movies.

Strahovski (Chuck, 24, Astronauts Wives Club) makes here DCU animated debut as the voice of Batwoman, while Maher (Firefly, Serenity) returns for his third turn as the voice of Nightwing. Popular voice actor Willingham (Sofia the First, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) gives voice to The Heretic, a key villain in the film.

All free public seats are now sold out, and any cancellations will be filled from a waiting list of previous RSVPs.

About Batman: Bad Blood …

The mysterious disappearance of Batman (voice of Jason O’Mara), coupled with the emergence of powerful and malevolent new villains in Gotham City, force Nightwing (Maher) and Robin (Stuart Allan) to take crime-fighting into their own hands – while simultaneously searching for their missing leader. WaterTower Music announced today the March 18 release of the soundtrack to the upcoming feature film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” a collaborative effort by film composers Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg). Available digitally, on CD, 2-disc deluxe CD, and on Limited Edition 3-disc deluxe vinyl, the first public sample of the music has been made available, and the album is now available for preorder. The 2-CD deluxe package, the digital deluxe version, and the 3-disc deluxe vinyl set feature over 90 minutes of music, five bonus tracks, an exclusive fold-out poster and liner notes from the composers. Additionally, the vinyl set features etched vinyl art and an album download card.

“Junkie XL is an incredibly insightful film composer. It was a perfect idea for us to work together on the ‘Batman v Superman’ score,” explained Academy-Award-winning composer Zimmer. Grammy nominee Junkie XL showed equal excitement at the pairing, saying, “Hans has an incredible legacy, and I was extremely thrilled when he approached me to work on ‘Batman v Superman’ with him.” 

The composers discussed their close working relationship with director Zack Snyder. “Zack allows us to try things we haven’t tried before. He’s very supportive of the eccentricities that we bring to this,” says Zimmer. Junkie XL concurred. “He’s very open and accepting of our ideas, and infuses the creative process with an energy that inspires you.” 

“Hans and Tom (Junkie XL) created an incredibly compelling and interesting new musical world for Batman, while continuing to expand on the amazing world and themes Hans had previously created for Superman,” noted director Zack Snyder. “By aligning their vision with my perspective and seeing the characters anew through the lens of the film they were able to support the visual aspects of movie in a way that elevates the film to another level. In so many ways, they become the final texture, the final note in the process of creating the world.”

COMIC BOOK ARTISTS

Comic Artists Frank Cirocco (“Alien Legion”) and Shannon Eric Denton (“Con Man”, “X-Men”) will also be part of the star-studded lineup of famous artists on hand.

SPECIAL PERFORMANCES

Award-winning artist, set designer, illustrator and papercrafter, Owen Gildersleeve will be creating a life size Iron Man on the show floor. His past work includes the “Nissan Juke: Folded in Britain” where he built a life-sized Nissan Juke out of paper, “Discoverer’s Alliance” a mockumentary of a fictional society devoted to the exploration of sea and space, and the book “Paper Cut.”
