This shouldn't be a big surprise if you are a diehard Marvel fan and have been following all the news.
Chris Evans is done with Marvel following The Avengers 4.
Chris Evans, along with some other Marvel actors, sees their contract end with The Avengers 4 next year.
In an interview with the NY Times where it's mentioned The Avengers 4 will be undergoing reshoots in the Fall, Evans says he will be finished with Marvel.
Last year, he filmed back-to-back the final two Marvel movies for which he is under contract — “Avengers: Infinity War,” due in April, and a sequel planned for next year. For now, he has no plans to return to the franchise (“You want to get off the train before they push you off,” he said), and expects that planned reshoots in the fall will mark the end of his tenure in the familiar red, white and blue super suit.
The other Marvel actors whose contracts are also up include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.
Scarlet Johansson apparently has signed on for further Marvel movies as a Black Widow solo film is in the works.
Now the bigger question is what happens to the actors' respective characters?
Will Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and the Hulk be killed off? It is a possibility as The Avengers: Infinity War writers recently confirmed Avengers will die.
"Some heroes may simply get to ride off into the sunset. Others may sacrifice themselves or fall in battle," Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely teased.
Robert Downey Jr. even teased the death of the Avengers.
"We're going to pull out the stops and stop exploring conventions, and look to stuff where we go, 'Oh, but if we do that, that's very, very definitive.' Well, great, let's get definitive for a change," Robert Downey Jr. teased. "We're like a family now. Ten years later, we're hanging out and having lunch, and kind of wondering when the draft is going to come in. Which one of us bites it and when?"
