'Mortal Kombat' 2 Casts Adeline Rudolph As Kitana

Mortal Kombat 2 casts one of the major parts of the movie as Adeline Rudolph is set to play Kitana who seeks revenge against Shao Khan for killing her parents.

Adeline Rudolph is known for Netflix’s Resident Evil and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina where she joins her Sabrina co-star Tati Gabrielle who was recently announced as Jade, the assassin and bodyguard for Kitana. Rudolph is also starring in the new Hellboy: The Crooked Man.

It has also recently been confirmed that Karl Urban will play Johnny Cage, where THR says Urban will be “leading the ensemble and diverse cast.” Johnny Cage in the sequel is described as an “action movie star who enters the Mortal Kombat tournament in order to prove to naysayers he is able to do his own stunts.”

Leaked character descriptions also offer Baraka will be a part of the movie who starts off as an enemy of Johnny Cage but upon seeing his fighting skills, joins with the side of Cage in the fight.

It’s also said Quan Chi, Kitana’s father King Jerrod, and his wife Queen Sindel, will be a part of the movie.

The plot is said to revolve around Shao Khan as the emperor of Outworld who kills and steals the throne of King Jerrod, kills the queen, and turns her into his undead servant.

Adeline Rudolph’s Kitana is said to be a central part of Mortal Kombat 2 described as the High Princess of Edenia who is scarred for life after her father and mother are killed by Shao Kahn and seeks revenge.

Mortal Kombat 2 doesn’t have a release date as of yet, with Simon McQuoid returning to direct, and it is reported members of the first movie’s cast will return. James Wan is producing.

THR describes the sequel as “continuing the story of a group of ragtag fighters, versed in the ways of martial arts, who defend our reality which is known in Earthrealm against the Outworld.”
