'Deadpool & Wolverine' Fetches 1.3M Households, 19M Views On Disney+

Deadpool & Wolverine premiered last week Tuesday on Disney+ and scored 19 million views and 1.3M households.

Disney has reported that Deadpool & Wolverine was watched for 19.4 million views in its first six days.

That number makes the flick the most-watched live-action film (emphasis on live-action) across Disney+ or Hulu since the streaming release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in February of 2023.

According to Samba TV, Deadpool & Wolverine scored 1.3 million households on the streaming service in its first six days.

However, according to both Disney and Samba TV, Deadpool & Wolverine didn’t beat Inside Out 2‘s 30.5 million views and 1.7M households in its first five days from earlier in September. Again, emphasis here is that Inside Out 2 is animated while Deadpool & Wolverine is said to hold the most Disney+ live-action views since Wakanda Forever.

For a comparison to other Marvel movies on Disney+, Samba TV says more households watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with 2.1M households in its first five days.

Likewise, Samba TV also says Eternals was watched more than Deadpool & Wolverine with 2M views.

Regarding the MCU shows, Samba TV also says She-Hulk was watched by more with 1.5M households in its first four days (if you can believe that); 1.5M for Hawkeye, 1.5M for WandaVision, 1.8M for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; 1.8M for Moon Knight, and 2.5M for Loki Season 1.

Additional data provided by Samba TV says Encanto (animated) was watched by 2M households in its first weekend back in December of 2021.

Samba also says 2.7M households watched Hamilton in its first ten days; that 2.5M watched Turning Red (animated) during its first weekend; that 2.14M watched the premiere of Obi-Wan in its first four days, and that 1.7M watched The Book of Boba Fett in its first five days.

It probably should said a majority of the aforementioned weren’t watched before, as Deadpool & Wolverine was first released in theaters, so maybe not such a good comparison.

We can argue the reason Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Eternals has better numbers is that less fans went to theaters to watch them (especially for Eternals), so they tuned in to Disney+ to watch them for the first time, which boosted the views.

Kevin Feige was recently asked if Deadpool & Wolverine 2 is happening and made it sound as if there are no plans. To boot, Ryan Reynolds recently (instead?) announced he is writing a new non-Marvel movie that reteams him with both Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy.

Deadpool & Wolverine finished with $1,337,900,827 at the box office; $636,745,858 domestic; $701,154,969 foreign.
