Following the massive failure of The Marvels, it’s claimed that Captain Marvel 3 isn’t happening, and when asked about her MCU future, Brie Larson doesn’t have anything to say.

The Marvels bombed so bad at the box office it still retains the worst drop in cinematic superhero history (Madame Web breathes a sigh of relief), and Disney has confirmed The Marvels lost them $200 million.

“There won’t be a Captain Marvel 3″

While attending the SAG Awards, Brie Larson was asked what is coming up for her next with Marvel.

“I don’t have anything to say about that,” she quickly replied to ExtraTV as the camera cut out (watch below).

Twitter user MyTimeToShineHello also responded to a fan questioning who will be the villain of the third film.

“There won’t be a Captain Marvel 3,” tweeted the account, obviously considered a rumor at this time.

Will Captain Marvel 3 happen?

The potential news that Captain Marvel 3 won’t happen not only follows The Marvels bombing big time but also what that Disney exec had to say.

The Disney exec said that Disney CEO Bob Iger is pivoting away from female leads and instead is returning to putting men front and center.

The same exec also blamed fans for the failure of The Marvels, attributing it to fans considering movies “bad” when they are really using “code” to “make movies that conform to regressive gender stereotypes or put men front and center in the narrative.”

Prior to the release of The Marvels, Brie Larson also doubted her future in the MCU, and co-star Iman Vellani has begged fans to petition to get the Young Avengers in the MCU.

When Captain Marvel opened between Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame it opened to over $153 million and brought in over $1.1 billion.

The sequel, The Marvels, opened to $46 million, an MCU low, and only brought in $206 million on a budget of $300 million or more.
