A new rumor suggests Marvel may have quietly removed several major actors from the early Avengers: Doomsday promotional rollout.
On a recent stream, Nerdrotic’s Gary Buechler claimed the original Marvel “chair promo” — the video showing cast nameplates on production chairs — initially included Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Owen Wilson, and Ke Huy Quan, but that their footage was pulled at the last minute.
If true, this would add another wrinkle to the increasingly chaotic rumors surrounding Marvel’s biggest movie since Avengers: Endgame.

Rumor: Four Big Names Removed From Original Promo
According to Nerdrotic, Marvel shot the name-reveal segments for all four actors, placing their chairs alongside the rest of the Doomsday cast.
Gary says these scenes were prepared and intended to appear in the official announcement video, but Marvel cut them right before release.
He notes the footage exists and that the decision was likely made due to the actors not having signed on the dotted line.

Why Marvel May Have Pulled the Footage
The speculation centers on contract timing. The theory is that Marvel hadn’t finalized deals with Reynolds, Jackman, Wilson, or Ke Huy Quan by the time the promo was scheduled to drop.
Even if filming took place, the actors’ names couldn’t legally appear in marketing without signed agreements.
If true, Marvel likely opted to remove the footage to avoid creating expectations it couldn’t officially confirm.
Worth noting is that Ryan Reynolds seemingly confirmed his involvement in a social media post, so maybe the deal was signed after the big reveal or Marvel is waiting to announce the actors in a second round of promotion.

The Latest Build-Up
This follows new rumors that Marvel created three separate Avengers: Doomsday trailers that will release over three weeks, each with different footage and connecting story beats.
Marvel is also releasing Endgame in theaters before the arrival of Doomsday.
