Deadpool Star Weighs In On MCU

Deadpool MCU

If everything goes according to plan, the X-Men, Wolverine, Fantastic Four and Deadpool will be at Disney and a part of Marvel Studios by next Summer.

While Comcast is presently attempting to outbid Disney for the purchase of Fox Studios, Disney does have a plan in place if that happens.

If the character and movies do become a part of the MCU, Stefan Kapicic weighs in on his thoughts about the move.

“We’ll see. You know those are the are the questions we cannot answer because we don’t know what is going to happen,” Kapicic explained during a press conference recently in London. “But you know, Deadpool is such a successful franchise, so whoever takes over, I don’t think they’re going to change anything – and I don’t it that to be changed because you know Deadpool is Deadpool. It needs to stay R-Rated. You don’t want to destroy something that created so much money and first of all, you need to satisfy fans. So if they make that mistake, they’re going to [Colossus voice] need to fight dirty.”

Stefan Kapicic was also asked about X-Force and a third film.

“Well, we have [an] extremely successful franchise, so there [are] rumors of X-Force and Deadpool 3,” Kapicic said. “We will see what’s going to happen.”

Regarding Disney taking over the Merc With The Mouth, Disney CEO Bob Iger did state they won’t be changing the tone of the character or movies.

“It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool,” Iger said. “As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine.”

Deadpool 2 is now playing in theaters.
