White House Video Uses Superman, Iron Man, Deadpool And More Hollywood Clips

The White House has posted a new video compilation using clips from various Hollywood movies and TV shows, including footage of Christopher Reeve’s Superman declaring “Truth, Justice and the American Way.”

The video mixes together a wide range of pop-culture scenes, including moments from Marvel, DC, classic films, anime, and modern action franchises.

It also follows a previous post where the White House shared a Superman-themed meme of Donald Trump tied to the release of James Gunn’s Superman movie.

Christopher Reeve Superman Featured

Among the footage used in the compilation is Christopher Reeve’s iconic portrayal of Superman, including a moment referencing the hero’s famous motto: “Truth, Justice and the American Way.”

The phrase became widely associated with Superman thanks to the 1978 Superman film starring Reeve and the earlier Adventures of Superman TV series, cementing the motto in popular culture for generations of fans.

The use of the line stands in contrast to the marketing for James Gunn’s Superman movie, where official merchandise promoted the slogan “Truth, Justice and the Human Way.”

The White House also previously posted a Superman-themed meme of Donald Trump when the new Superman movie released, which similarly used the classic “Truth, Justice and the American Way” phrase.

Hollywood Montage Includes Marvel, DC And More

The White House video features a rapid montage of clips pulled from numerous movies and TV shows across different genres.

Among the footage included:

– Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark designing the Iron Man suit while speaking with JARVIS
– Russell Crowe in Gladiator
– Mel Gibson in Braveheart
– Tom Cruise in Top Gun
– Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad
– Bob Odenkirk in Better Call Saul
– Keanu Reeves in John Wick
– Adam Driver as Kylo Ren from Disney’s Star Wars
– Transformers footage
– Deadpool
– Mortal Kombat
– Halo
– Yu-Gi-Oh

The video also includes additional scenes from other well-known films and franchises.

Hollywood And Politics Continue To Collide

The White House’s use of movie footage comes amid ongoing cultural and political debates involving Hollywood franchises and messaging around characters like Superman.

James Gunn’s Superman reboot sparked its own discussions when Gunn described the character as representing broader human values, while critics and fans debated the shift away from the classic “American Way” wording.

Now, the White House’s latest video again places that original phrase front and center by highlighting Christopher Reeve’s Superman.
