Daredevil: Born Again Makes Marvel History: All 9 Episodes Fail to Chart

Daredevil: Born Again Makes Marvel History: All 9 Episodes Fail to Chart

A moment of silence, folks, because #RIPMCU continues, as it has been learned that all nine episodes of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again have failed to appear on the Nielsen viewership charts.

It’s the first time in MCU history that a Marvel series on Disney+ has failed to make the charts. Even Agatha, Echo, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Secret Invasion made the Nielsen charts.

The Marvel crybabies also can’t downplay Nielsen. Disney+ has Nielsen tracking automatically enabled on all user accounts. It’s the industry standard for measuring streaming viewership. At the same time, Disney-backed Samba TV hasn’t released household data for Daredevil: Born Again, likely at Disney’s request due to how bad the numbers are.

Daredevil: Born Again is a complete and official flop.

What are the ratings?

Nielsen has released the charts for the week of April 14 -20, 2025, which is when the last episode, episode 9, “Straight to Hell,” of Daredevil: Born Again was released on Disney+. The episode has failed to make the chart, just like the previous eight.

At bottom, at #10, is Paramount+’s Mobland, with 385 million minutes. It also has less than half the number of episodes available. Of course, that means the last episode and the entire series of Daredevil: Born Again came under that number.

No one binge-watched

Nielsen also measures all the episodes available within a week’s timeframe, so that means no Marvel fans came onboard to binge-watch.

We knew Daredevil was done for when Marvel released the two episodes, five and six, at the same time, which failed to chart. They effectively averaged under 172 million minutes each, a complete disaster.

Daredevil: Born Again Season Finale Saves The MCU - For Now (Review)

What’s next for Daredevil: Born Again?

The good news is that Daredevil: Born Again hasn’t been canceled, only the second Marvel series not to do so following Loki.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is currently in development. Disney and Marvel recently confirmed Krysten Ritter will be back as Jessica Jones from the Netflix shows.

However, as we saw with Season 1, the Marvel TV budgets have been slashed due to Kevin Feige blowing hundreds of millions of dollars on content nobody asked for or watched. So shows like Daredevil have to suffer as a result of the big-time failures of Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Secret Invasion. Just imagine if Feige had launched the MCU on Disney+ with a $200 million Daredevil show? Wow.

Charlie Cox has at least also promised Season 2 will be better. It’s known Season 1 had been retooled, but they still kept a lot of the original which as we see wasn’t any good:

“I don’t want to oversell it. I do happen to think it’s some of the best writing we’ve ever had on this show. I am sure everyone always says that. I texted the showrunner, Dario, the other day and was like, ‘Obviously we’re still halfway through shooting it, but huge, huge credit to what you’ve pieced together here.’ He’s done something which I’m really excited about, which is that he’s fleshed out characters that in the previous iteration of the show often get left behind. So, it feels much more like an ensemble than it’s ever felt.”

Let’s hope if they learn anything from Season 1, it’s that fans want to see Charlie Cox in the Daredevil costume. They also want Kingpin to stop crying.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 can be watched on Disney+.
