She-Hulk Canceled: Tatiana Maslany Fired By Marvel?

She-Hulk Rumored Canceled: Tatiana Maslany Fired?

It’s claimed that Marvel is canceling the She-Hulk series on Disney+, with fans even questioning if Tatiana Maslany has been fired from the MCU.

While scooper DanielRPK has said Kevin Feige is considering She-Hulk Season 2, Twitter user ThwipT is claiming just the opposite.

“She Hulk originally planned to have a S2 but due to poor reception it’s probably not going to happen,” states the account.

She-Hulk is the second least-watched Marvel series on Disney+

It’s known She-Hulk is the second least-watched Marvel series on Disney+, right behind Ms. Marvel, which also happens to be rumored to potentially get a Season 2. Iman Vellani stars as Ms. Marvel in the worst-performing MCU and superhero movie of all time that was just released with The Marvels and will likely lose Disney hundreds of millions of dollars.

Marvel hasn’t officially announced either a Ms. Marvel or She-Hulk Season 2, but according to the writer of that MCU book, Marvel is scrapping projects including Wonder Man.

However, following the publication of the book and with the release of the Echo series, it has been learned that Wonder Man is still moving forward now under the new “Marvel Spotlight” brand which separates projects from the MCU.

It could very well be possible that since both Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk weren’t watched and liked by a lot of people, that both shows could get rebranded under the “Marvel Spotlight” banner (maybe The Marvels and Quantumania, too???) and won’t be directly connected to the MCU.

Tatiana Maslany not “fired”

Regarding Tatiana Maslany getting fired, obviously if the rumor that She-Hulk is canceled is true, that means she won’t be back in the MCU.

Videos on YouTube and TikTok are currently going viral stating she has been fired, but it’s not true at the present time. Neither Disney, Marvel, or Tatiana Maslany has officially announced anything.

Tatiana Maslany getting fired was first speculated months ago during the strikes when she blasted Disney CEO Bob Iger over his comments about the strikes where she said, “I think he’s completely out of touch. He’s completely out of touch with the workers who make his shows happen, who make people watch these shows, who bring viewers to him and him money. Having worked on a Disney show, I know where people fall through the cracks and where people are taken advantage of and it’s outrageous the amount of wealth that is not shared with the people who actually make the show. That’s crew, cast, writers.”

Back in October of 2022, Tatiana Maslany also doubted a She-Hulk Season 2.

“I mean, I don’t think so, yet,” Maslany answered when asked about a Season 2. “Kevin in the scene seems to be very dismissive of this idea, so, if we’re basing this off of the real Kevin, then it doesn’t seem likely. But he was also, I think, just trying to get rid of Jen at that point because she was asking too many questions. Who knows?” The interviewer also recommended she move on to other projects which she replied, “Yeah, exactly.”

Update 1/16/24: During a recent appearance on NerdIncorrect’s Twitch live stream, Tatiana Maslany was asked if She-Hulk Season 2 is happening and she responded, “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.'”

She-Hulk is a B-lister not canceled because of anti-woke mob

Clearing up some other misinformation: Some fans think She-Hulk is an A-lister, but that is not the case. Stan Lee only created the character so Marvel would own the rights to a female “She-Hulk” character, as Incredible Hulk was airing on ABC at the time, and Stan Lee didn’t want them to own the rights to a female Hulk, so he came up with She-Hulk. Hulk is the A-lister.

It’s also been questioned if Disney is catering to the anti-woke mob with the potential cancellation of She-Hulk in the MCU, with it claimed that just because Marvel is using female characters it’s woke. However, that is not what woke means. Woke means adding diversity to send a message or lecturing the fans which comes at the expense of content and quality story. The message comes first with the characters, fans, and story last. Again, not many Marvel fans watched She-Hulk on Disney+ and something like 90% of fans didn’t watch The Marvels. It’s not because they are all right-wingers, it’s because the content is atrocious, all for the sake of sending a message. A minority of fans have been desperately trying to make excuses for the failure of Disney and Marvel to cope.
