Tatiana Maslany comes out in support of the strikes and blasts Bob Iger, Disney and her Marvel show, She-Hulk.
Disney CEO Bob Iger recently said the ongoing actor and write strikes are “disturbing” and “disruptive,” and Ron Perlman also blasted Iger for comments made about dragging the strike on until union members start losing their houses.
So while speaking with THR, Tatiana Maslany comes out against Bob Iger and also reveals that her Marvel Disney+ show, She-Hulk, took advantage of people by not paying them much, which fits with a recent She-Hulk writer stating he only made a few hundred dollars in residuals.
“I think he’s completely out of touch,” Maslany filled in THR about Iger from the picket lines in New York City. “He’s completely out of touch with the workers who make his shows happen, who make people watch these shows, who bring viewers to him and him money.”
Maslany added, “Having worked on a Disney show, I know where people fall through the cracks and where people are taken advantage of and it’s outrageous the amount of wealth that is not shared with the people who actually make the show. That’s crew, cast, writers.”
This was one of the most watched episodes of television, of one of the most watched television series on Disney +. Even made multiple "best episodes of 2022" lists.

My residual check was $396. This is why we’re striking. #wgastrike #WritersStrike https://t.co/tJbLEpqgSC

Insiders offer no end in sight for the strike
There doesn’t seem an end in sight to the strike, as recently the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) joined the writers guild (WGA), which is reportedly costing Hollywood $30 million a day.
Insiders have filled me in at Comic-Con that the strike could go on until the end of the year.
They also pointed out how the directors guild has a new contract and is not striking, which I am told has to do with artificial intelligence, as a big issue with the actors and writers is the use of AI, but I am told if/when AI is used, AI will still need directors, so that’s why the directors guild isn’t striking and got a new contract.
I’m also told people in Hollywood are transitioning from one role to numerous roles, so instead of being just an actor or just a writer, people are transitioning to something like an actor-writer-director. I’m also told they are now having a “regular” job while also doing the roles BTS for the Hollywood projects and such.
