X-Men ’97 Season 2 Trailer Leaks Online With Apocalypse, Time Travel, Wolverine

The X-Men ’97 Season 2 trailer has leaked online after apparently being shown at Comic Con Revolution in Ontario, California, over the weekend.

The footage has not been officially released by Marvel, but footage from the trailer is now making the rounds on social media. Comic Con Revolution was held May 16-17 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California, not Canada.

Watch the trailer below.

Trailer Shows Mutants In The Future

The leaked X-Men ’97 Season 2 trailer appears to open in the future, where a group of young mutants runs toward the X-Mansion.

The problem? The mansion is in shambles.

“It’s over there. What did I tell you? The X-Men are never coming back,” one of the mutants says.

Another says they need to split up and regroup, then they are safe.

“Safe? This was the safe place for kids like us,” comes the response.

From there, the Marvel Animation logo appears, and the trailer kicks into the bigger story.

Bishop Says The X-Men Have Been Scattered Through Time

The trailer then shows what looks like the X-Men falling through time, with Bishop explaining the setup for Season 2.

“Something or someone came to the X-Men through time… scattered across the past… and the future,” Bishop says.

The trailer then cuts to Bishop in the ’90s, where he says, “We gotta get the X-Men back.”

That leads to the apparent return of Wolverine: “I’m back.”

The trailer also flashes the tagline: “This summer… the ’90s are the past, are the present, are the future.”

Apocalypse Appears Across Different Time Periods

The final part of the trailer puts the focus on Apocalypse, who appears to be tied to the different time periods.

Magneto tells Xavier, “Whatever forces await, we’ll face them together.”

Xavier responds, “I fear there is more to the darkness than we have yet to understand.”

The trailer ends with a look at Apocalypse across the different timelines, which fits with where X-Men ’97 left things at the end of Season 1.

There is also a joke at the end involving Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and Morph, with a punchline about a laser disc.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 Releases This Summer

Marvel has not officially released the trailer online, but X-Men ’97 Season 2 is confirmed for this summer on Disney+.

Disney+ lists the show as returning with the X-Men facing “a dangerous and unexpected new future.”

Marvel Comics is also launching an official X-Men ’97: Season Two prelude comic series on June 3, with the story picking up after “Extinction-day” and the X-Men lost in time.

The season is also set to have a world premiere screening at the Tribeca Festival on June 13.

About X-Men ’97

X-Men ’97 continues the story of X-Men: The Animated Series and follows Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Beast, Jubilee, Bishop, Magneto, Professor X, and the rest of the team as they protect a world that hates and fears mutants.

Season 1 premiered on Disney+ in March 2024 and ended with the team split across time. Season 2 continues that story this summer on Disney+.
