Ron Killings, widely known as R-Truth, has announced his release from WWE, concluding a remarkable 17-year tenure with the company. The 53-year-old veteran shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to WWE and his fans:
“I’m sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”

Wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp confirmed the exit of Killings on X:
The R Truth tweet is accurate, not a hack or accident. He will be leaving WWE when his deal expires.

Update: Carlito has also confirmed his contract won’t be renewed.
R-Truth’s legacy
Killings’ departure comes shortly after his involvement in a storyline with WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena. At WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, R-Truth wrestled and lost to Cena, who cheated to win. He also wrestled JC Mateo on “SmackDown” and lost just days before the announcement.
Throughout his career, Killings made a name for himself becoming the two-time WWE United States Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion (once with Kofi Kingston and once with The Miz), and holds the record for the most reigns as WWE 24/7 Champion — a staggering 54 times — making the title and its comedic segments synonymous with his name.
