In another surprising turn of events following the news of the exit of R-Truth, WWE veteran Carlito has announced that his contract will not be renewed, marking the end of his current tenure with the company.
The 46-year-old wrestler shared the news on social media, stating that his contract expires in two weeks and will not be renewed. In a lighthearted tone, Carlito joked about WWE demanding he repay money for “stealing” from the company, referencing his limited appearances on Netflix:
My contract is up in 2 weeks. It will not be renewed. On top of that, WWE is demanding I pay back the $ they paid me for apparently “stealing money” from the company. I’ve had my lawyers look into it and after reviewing my footage on Netflix for the past months they suggested I pay them back the money
All jokes aside, gracias WWE & especially the WWE universe. Los quiero mucho! PS…I’ll reappear again in another 13yrs Dios me los bendiga!

Carlito’s WWE Career: From Instant Impact to Surprise Exit
Carlito’s departure comes shortly after R-Truth’s exit, signaling a shift in WWE’s roster. Carlito, son of WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colón, made his WWE debut in 2004, capturing the United States Championship by defeating John Cena in his first match. He went on to win the Intercontinental Championship and multiple Tag Team Championships during his initial run before departing in 2010.
After sporadic appearances, including the 2021 Royal Rumble and a notable return at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, Carlito re-signed with WWE, aligning with the Latino World Order (LWO) and later joining The Judgment Day faction. His last WWE match was in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during WrestleMania 41 weekend in April 2025.
What’s next for Carlito?
Outside WWE, Carlito remains active in the wrestling scene. On May 31, 2025, he competed at WWC Summer Madness in Puerto Rico, defeating Ray González to win the WWC Puerto Rico Championship. As he bids farewell to WWE, fans are left wondering if and when Carlito will make another return to the squared circle.
