First Wonder Woman 1984 Spot Is Here With Gal Gadot

The first Wonder Woman 1984 spot featuring Gal Gadot is here, courtesy Sunday’s NFL AFC Championship game pitting the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tennesee Titans.

No new footage is shown, but it gives us a quick look at the latest Wonder Woman 1984 trailer, which can also be found below.

I liked the first movie a lot, and I am hoping Wonder Woman 1984 isn’t some wannabee Marvel movie with goofy jokes and music, as Gadot offering they ditched the sword and shield because it’s “too aggressive” has me worried.

The good news, at least, is that this flick isn’t going to be about a feminist agenda, like what Disney did with its Star Wars movies and Captain Marvel, as Gal Gadot recently shut down a reporter who tried to bait her into pushing the flick as being all for girls.

“But I got to tell you, it not just for the girls,” Gal Gadot shot back. “It is for the girls, but we can’t reach the place where we are going to stop talking about female, men, you know women empowerment, feminism and all that before we work on both female and male. We can’t just empower women, only by focusing on women, we also need to educate the boys and the men so a young boy that goes to see this in the cinema, this amazing woman that does those amazing things, that he can believe a woman can do that, you know what I mean? So it goes both ways.”

Director Patty Jenkins also compared her Wonder Woman to James Bond.

“I want Wonder Woman to be the James Bond of the superhero world,” Jenkins recently told Empire Magazine. “I set out to make a grand massive tentpole, a la the ’80s.”

The film gets released June 5, 2020 also starring Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal.
