Watch: New Star Wars Lightsaber Crossguards Tested Out

[page_title]

With the recent debut of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (watch below) came with it a bit of controversy surrounding the look of the new lightsaber.

Some fans complained online that the crossguards might hurt the wielder as they appear to be energy shooting out from side-to-side.

Another theory is that whomever built the lightsaber didn’t know what he/she was doing, which is why the crossguards were built to possibly funnel away excess energy.

Well, just maybe the person that did build the new lightsaber was smarter than everyone else.

Check out the video above where the Thegn Thrand YouTube channel puts the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens lightsaber to the test.

They test the crossguard out to see if it would indeed hurt the wielder or it it would be an effective weapon against an opponent.
