Spider-Man 4: Sounds Like No Tom Hardy, Venom, Knull

Lots of rumors have been swirling that Spider-Man 4 might finally(?!) merge the MCU with the Sony Spider-Verse.

We also most saw that happen with No Way Home, but it seems they decided to change things and keep Tom Hardy’s Venom separate, a part of its own universe.

So following Venom: The Last Dance, some fans have theorized it could happen in Spider-Man 4, which is already said to connect to Avengers: Secret Wars in a big way, the big MCU multiverse movie thought to be featuring variants of lots of Marvel characters.

Sony has also confirmed Knull for Venom: The Last Dance, which gets released this week. In the comics, Knull has multiverse connections, and connections to MCU storylines.

However, the bad(?) news is that it seems Tom Hardy, Venom, and Knull are unlikely for the MCU and Spider-Man 4.

Hardy was asked about Spider-Man 4 at the Red Carpet premiere of Venom 3 where he seemed to indicate he won’t be in the film. Worth a mention is that Hardy said he’s not going to be in it because he hasn’t read the script, but Tom Holland just said the script isn’t ready (update: Holland confirms Spider-Man 4 films next year).

ā€œI don’t see him in the next Spider-Man movie because I’d have the script and I don’t have that,ā€ he said.

The so so reliable ā€œscooperā€ on X, My Time To Shine also chimed in about Knull, doubting Knull for Spider-Man 4. Sony has teased more plans for Knull, but we can guess that is only on the Sony side of their Spider-Verse, which includes Kraven coming out in December.

Interestingly, Sony has yet to announce additional Marvel Spider-Verse movies.
