Chris Hemsworth In Talks To Play Disney’s Prince Charming

Disney continues moving forward with its live-action Prince Charming movie where it is reported Chris Hemsworth is in talks to play the role.

Not much is known about the movie other than Wonka director Paul King is directing, and also writing with his Paddington 2 and Wonka writer Simon Farnaby, and Paddington 2 writer Jon Croker.

Most fans probably know Prince Charming from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, but his origins actually come from Cinderella, where Cinderella’s love interest is Prince Charming.

Deadline adds the film will not specifically be linked to Cinderella.

What will Disney do with Prince Charming?

Rachel, Zegler who stars in Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White, which doesn’t appear to be related to this Prince Charming movie, as Andrew Burnap is said to be playing the character, has gone on record that she thinks Prince Charming is a stalker.

“The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so,” Zegler said back in 2022, which received a massive amount of backlash from fans. “There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird! So we didn’t do that this time. We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we cast a guy in the movie. All of Andrew’s scenes could get cut, who knows? It’s Hollywood, baby!”

Since it is Disney, it remains to be seen what Disney is going to do with Prince Charming. Worth a mention is that Chris Hemsworth is 41-years-old, which seems a bit old to play Prince Charming.

Hemsworth also has a history of playing goofy simp characters with Marvel’s Thor that mega-bombed in Love and Thunder and Dementus in Furiousa, which also didn’t turn out well. Prince Charming sounds similar.
