Watch Crowd React To Ian McDiarmid And Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Trailer

Earlier today at Star Wars Celebration, Disney released the Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker trailer, poster and first look high-res images, but that’s not all as Ian McDiarmid took to the stage following the footage having been revealed.

Check out video below of the crowd reacting to both the new trailer as well as Ian McDiarmid appearing at Star Wars Celebration, who says in his Palpatine voice, “Roll it again.” And with that, the trailer replays and the crowd goes wild — again!

Following Ian McDiarmid’s appearance, Rotten Tomatoes tweeted that he is confirmed as the Emperor for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, and J.J. Abrams has also confirmed the return of Palpatine. Last we saw of the Emperor alive was in Return of the Jedi when Darth Vader threw him into the generator, so the best guess is that maybe the Emperor used the Dark Side of The Force to switch host bodies.

Recall The Emperor’s line to Darth Vader from Return of the Jedi(!): “Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.”
