Chance For Young Justice To Return Says Jay Oliva; Series Now On Netflix

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24100:]]

About six months or so ago saw the hashtag “RenewYoungJustice” trend worldwide on Twitter.

Now hope is again renewed as Batman: Bad Blood and DC animated movie director Jay Oliva says there is a chance for Young Justice to return.

“Nothing’s ever totally dead. Futurama and Family Guy came back, but the crew, we all moved on,” Oliva told Inverse. “I’m doing this stuff, Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman are doing their own things. If the fans want it and there’s enough uproar, then eventually. Who knows? We all might come back and do it, but you never know.”

Cartoon Network cancelled the series in the Spring of 2013 with the exact reason unknown; however, the lack of merchandise may have been the cause (or the lack of selling merchandise).

The good news is that the first two seasons of Young Justice are currently on Netflix. Maybe if there is enough “fan uproar,” Netflix may think about picking up the series (and #RenewYoungJustice is currently back on Twitter.) Young Justice writer and creator Greg Weisman recently posted that he is asking fans to “make the push by racking up the views.”

Cartoon Network did just announce a new Justice League Action animated series, so there is at least that to look forward to.

Tonight’s Flash Preempted By Basketball; Airs At 11pm ET

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24097:]]

When I sat down to watch my favorite show tonight, instead of The Flash, on The CW happens to be a dang college basketball game with Virgina Tech at Syracuse.

I’m guessing it might be a local thing as it appears to be hitting the Buffalo/Western New York Area.

The good news is that tonight’s The Flash is still due to air tonight at 11pm ET (at least, let’s hope so).

Maybe we have Gorilla Grodd to blame?!

Update: The local Buffalo CW affiliate got back to me and said, “CW prime time programming will air tonight after News 4 at 10.”

Charles completes the ensemble of “Bat Family” voice actors to attend, joining Jason O’Mara (Batman), Yvonne Strahovski (Batwoman), Sean Maher (Nightwing) and Stuart Allan (Robin) – along with villain Travis Willingham (The Heretic).

Producer James Tucker, Director Jay Oliva and character designer Phil Bourassa will work the red carpet alongside the actors, as well as take part in a post-screening panel at the spotlight event to celebrate the release of the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Original Movies.

Strahovski (Chuck, 24, Astronauts Wives Club) and Charles (Friday Night Lights, Grey’s Anatomy, Aquarius) make their DCU animated debuts as the voices of Batwoman and Batwing, respectively. O’Mara (Terra Nova, Complications), Maher (Firefly, Serenity) and Allan (Batman vs. Robin) return to the roles they’ve created over the past several years as Batman, Nightwing and Robin, respectively. They’re not alone for long. New super heroes Batwoman (Strahovski) and Batwing (Gaius Charles) – each armed with her/his own sensibilities, physical abilities and crime-fighting tools – arrive in Gotham to assist in the cause. As this new “family” strives to find its own dynamic, chilling clues lead the group to suspect the Dark Knight may have gone over to the dark side. It’s up to the entire Bat team to uncover the truth before Gotham City falls prey to its greatest threat yet.

Produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, Batman: Bad Blood will be distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on February 2, 2016.

Slender Man Rumored For American Horror Story Season 6

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24037:]]

American Horror Story may be bringing the internet sensation to life known as the Slender Man.

According to US Weekly, the sixth season of American Horror Story will be about Slender Man, the fictional supernatural horror character created back in 2009 by a user on the Something Awful Internet forums.

“Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show,” an insider said. “They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there.”

Slender Man was created by Eric Knudsen for a photoshop contest. The character is faceless, tall and skinny wearing a black suit and is often depicted abducting and traumatizing children.

Following the contest, Slender Man quickly went viral becoming a fan-favorite character that inspired many works of fan-fiction, YouTube videos and even the Enderman in the popular Minecraft game.
