IMDb sent over its lists of the most anticipated movies and TV series for 2023 where Barbie and The Last of Us are at the top.
It’s honestly hard to believe Barbie made it to the top of the list but the results may have been released following that first trailer which got everybody talking.
Interestingly, we see Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamania is at the bottom and that James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 didn’t make the list nor did The Marvels, which may be due to the Marvel brand being hurt so badly by Phase 4.
The IMDB lists results aren’t conducted using polls but page views and IMDbPro movie rankings so the results are likely more fluid closer to current times (trailer releases like Barbie) and release dates.
Rather than base its annual rankings on small statistical samplings or reviews from professional critics, IMDb determines its list of the most anticipated titles by the actual page views of the more than 200 million monthly visitors to IMDb. This exclusive and definitive data is derived from the IMDbPro movie and TV rankings, which are updated weekly throughout the year.

Regarding TV shows, We also see The Last Of Us is at the top which makes sense as there is tons of hype surrounding the HBO series, with Marvel and Disney Plus’ Secret Invasion at #2; The CW’s Gotham Knights is also on the list, which is another one that’s hard to believe.
