Taika Waititi was inspired by the king himself, Jack Kirby, for Thor: Ragnarok as well as 70/80s sci-fi films. Check out a super cool Thor: Ragnarok t-shirt that has surfaced online which is apparently promoting the movie's "art department."
The Thor: Ragnarok t-shirt features what looks to be a different/new logo as well as some sort of device resembling Jack Kirby art. My guess is that the device is used by the Grandmaster to pluck various individuals (or heroes) from throughout the universe to do battle in his Gladiator arena, which is how the Hulk (and John Cena) leave the Earth and run into Thor.
Pretty cool.
Update: The Thor: Ragnarok shirt was given to a redditor from a friend who worked on the movie.
"Thor: Raganarok" has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Sam Neill in an unknown role.
