David Tennant is returning as the Tenth Doctor alongside Catherine Tate as his companion Donna Noble in three Doctor Who Audio Dramas!
David Tennant portrayed the Doctor on screen from 2005 until 1 January 2010, returning to play alongside Matt Smith and John Hurt in the 50th Anniversary special The Day of the Doctor in 2013. Catherine Tate made her debut as Donna in December 2006, and after a series and two festive specials she made her last appearance alongside David on 1 January 2010. Their on-screen partnership is generally regarded as one of the great high-points of the enduring science fiction phenomenon.
‘I still remember the sense of joy I had when I heard that David had been asked to play the Doctor,’ says Big Finish executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery. ‘We were all so pleased for him — as we knew how much Doctor Who meant to him. And now David comes full circle, back doing Doctor Who with Big Finish — except that this time he’s playing the Doctor! It’s the same but different — it’s wonderful to have him back!’
The series opens with Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Technophobia by Matt Fitton, which is set in a London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology. Could there be an evil force at work?
In Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Time Reaver by Jenny T Colgan the Doctor and Donna arrive on Calibris – ‘An entirely mechanical planet. Catch, hitch, fuel, fix, buy, pretty much any kind of transportation in existence.’ It’s also a world full of scoundrels, where a deadly black market has opened up in a device known only as the Time Reaver.
Finally, in Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Death and the Queen by James Goss, Donna is swept along in a fairytale romance and meets the man of her dreams in the beautiful land of Goritania. What can possibly go wrong? And why has the Doctor never heard of Goritania?
‘I’ve enjoyed working with all the Doctors on TV, but David is the only one I’d known before he became the Doctor,’ says executive producer Nicholas Briggs. ‘I’d worked with him on our Dalek Empire series for Big Finish and had such fun. So along with the excitement of directing new Tenth Doctor adventures, I’m so happy to be working with an old chum again.’
Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures is produced by David Richardson, script edited by Matt Fitton and James Goss and directed by Nicholas Briggs.
‘This is one of those dream projects where I’ve spent months pinching myself. I’m covered in bruises,’ says David. ‘With two major international stars in place, and the legacy of this era of the TV show to live up to, we’ve worked our socks off to try and make some very special stories for this box set. Expect adventure, fun, scares… and some tears too.’
Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures will be released in May 2016 – exclusively on the Big Finish website. Each of the three titles are available to pre-order separately today for just £10.99 on CD or £8.99 to download. A bundle of all three titles is also available for £25 on CD and £22 to download!

Fans of the Marvel Comics know that David Tennant is playing Kilgrave in the Jessica Jones Netflix series, who in comics lore is also known as the Purple Man.
The Purple Man’s powers include using chemical pheromones to control and manipulate other people.
It’s unclear how close the Jessica Jones Netflix series will stick to the comic books, but the official Netflix page has been updated with a purple background (as well as the new Comic-Con logo), which may hint at the use of pheromones due to the cloudy nature of the image.
Likewise, previous set pics featuring Tennant revealed the actor in a purple suit as Kilgrave.
“Jessica Jones” premiers later this year starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker), and Carrie-Anne Moss.

David Tennant has joined the cast of the upcoming animated Chew movie.
THR reports Tennant will play Mason Savoy, the mentor to the lead character turned villain.
Tennant, known for Doctor Who, joins Walking Dead‘s Steven Yeun and Felicia Day for Chew.
Chew is described as:
Tony Chu is a detective with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means hes a hell of a detective, as long as he doesnt mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. Hes been brought on by the Special Crimes Division of the FDA, the most powerful law enforcement agency on the planet, to investigate their strangest, sickest, and most bizarre cases.
The Chew animated movie may be released straight to video and is being directed by Jeff Krelitz, with Chew co-creator John Layman writing the script.
At one time a Showtime series was in development, but has been since passed on.
Tennant is also starring in Marvel’s Jessica Jones Netflix series.
With Daredevil being such a hit, a lot is expected from the rest of the Marvel Netflix series.

Marvel recently announced the casting of David Tennant for the Netflix Jessica Jones series.
Tennant has been named to being playing the villain known as Kilgave.
While not exactly confirmed for Jessica Jones, Kilgrave in the comics is Zebediah Killgrave aka The Purple Man.
Radio Times caught up with Tennant and questioned the actor about Marvel and the character, where you can see in the following video that Tennant happens to be wearing a purple tie.
“I grew up on Marvel comics, so it’s very exciting to be part of their ever expanding entertainment empire,” Tennant said. “It’s great. I love the movies, I love the TV shows that they do, so I’m very pleased to be part of one.
“I grew up an absolute devotee to the worlds of Marvel,” Tennant continued. “So the fact that they’ve expanded now into TV and film is something that I think I sort of fantasized about when I was younger. So now to be part of it, to be on the other side of it is a thrill.
While it’s been said David Tennant will be playing a villain, the former Doctor Who remains coy.
“Who says it’s a villain?” Tennant questioned with a smile. “Make no assumptions. I’m saying nothing. I’ve found myself in another world which I can answer no questions about.”

Marvel has announced David Tennant has joined the cast of the Netflix Jessica Jones series.
Tennant, known for playing Doctor Who, will play the villain known as Kilgrave (aka Purple Man from the Marvel comics).
The character is described in the series as: An enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past, Kilgrave’s reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super hero’s world.
“I’m so honored and excited by the prospect of David inhabiting this multifaceted character,” said Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. “He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He’ll make Kilgrave a truly original villain.”
“Anyone familiar with David’s work knows he brings an incredible level of dedication to any role he inhabits, a level we knew we would need from the man playing Kilgrave,” added Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer/Marvel’s Head of Television. “While most know him for his roles as a hero, we can’t wait to unleash a whole new side of this talented actor.”
David Tennant joins Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter, who will play Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in “Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones.”
