Russo Brothers Tweet Out New Possible Captain: Civil War Related Image

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23910:]]

Following the ABC Captain America 75th Anniversary special, now the “Russo Brothers” Twitter has tweeted out a possible new image that connects to Captain America: Civil War or even Spider-Man.

The Twitter account is not confirmed to be official, but James Gunn did delete a tweet stating it was a fake (which probably means the account is related to promoting the movie).

Taking a look at the image below, obviously the first guess might be some sort of star. Perhaps on Captain America’s shield? However, the star on Cap’s shield is surrounded by blue, not red. There also looks to be a line of blue going through the bottom of the white part of whatever the image is. Maybe the paint gets messed up in a battle with Iron Man? Or perhaps this is an image of a patch or part of someone’s costume?

The Russo Brother Twitter did seemingly tease the Spider-Man costume, maybe this is related? Any ideas?

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Steve Rogers Returns As Captain America For Marvel Comics

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23893:]]

During tonight’s Captain America 75th Anniversary Special on ABC, it was announced Steve Rogers would be returning to the Marvel Comics comic books featuring a new costume and shield in the “Standoff” event.

Marvel.com also announced the news with the new series by Nick Spencer and Jesus Saiz.

Details include:

When the villainous Iron Nail removed the Super-Soldier Serum from his body, Steve Rogers aged into an old man, putting him on the sidelines and passing his shield to the former Falcon, Sam Wilson. But following the events of the upcoming Standoff event, Rogers will once again fight on the frontlines as Captain America, with a new shield, a new mission, and a brand new comic, Captain America: Steve Rogers.

Without spoiling too much of Standoff at this early date, something happens that restore Steve to full vigor, which will obviously greatly impact his own mission and his standing within the Marvel Universe. The biggest part of that? He’s Captain America once again.

The country is as divided as it’s ever been, and Steve is one of a kind; he’s a unifying figure, someone we can all look up to, [and] someone we can all put our faith in. It’s no secret the Marvel Universe is about to enter a period of serious conflict with Civil War II looming on the horizon, and as such, it feels like the perfect moment to bring Steve back into fighting shape.

Cap’s redesign has actually been created by the magnificent Daniel Acuña, and it truly is an incredible design. It’s very modern, and at the same time perfectly identifiable as Captain America at first glance. It has all the classic elements you’d expect to find in the character’s suit, but updated in a very clever way.

And the greatest part [is] the shield, indeed! Its shape is similar to the original shield Cap had back in the 1940’s, the pointy one, but this one has two main innovations: its tip can deploy an “energy blade” so Cap can cut into things, and the shield can be divided in two, so Steve can use both halves, one with each arm. Both modifications will help us see a completely different set of moves for Captain America, moves that we [have] never seen Steve use before, in terms of hand-to-hand combat.

It’s also revealed Falcon will still be Captain America:

It means we’ll have two Captain Americas. When Steve handed the shield to Sam, it didn’t come with any caveats. It’s his. Steve respects and admires what his old partner is doing, and wants him to carry on. There are enough problems out there, and enough bad guys, to keep both of them busy. They’ll have very different missions; Sam will continue fighting the battles no one else will go near, while Steve is faced with a resurgent threat from his past: Hydra is back, and stronger than ever.

Chris Evans Barfs While Filming Top Gear

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23860:]]

Update: It’s a different Chris Evans. Our apologies.

Who knew Captain America had such a weak stomach?!

Check out pics of Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the upcoming Civil War movie for Marvel, hunched over at the side of the speedway after suffering from a bout of motion sickness while being a passenger in an Audi R8 V10 for the UK’s Top Gear.

The problems don’t end there as Car Throttle reports the return of the show has seen its share of issues ranging from audio problem to reports of “meddling management,” and a production team that knows nothing about cars.

Top Gear was recently revamped following the departure of popular host Jeremy Clarkson.

According to reports, professional race car driver Sabine Schmitz had to pull over at the Monterey, California race track to give Evans some time recuperate.

Captain America: Civil War Spider-Man Introduction Rumored

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23836:]]

A new rumor has hit the net regarding details on how Spider-Man will be introduced in Captain America: Civil War.

From the Ant-Man movie (“we got guys who climb up walls”) and interviews with Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers, it’s already known that the Tom Holland Spider-Man will be established in the MCU (no more origin stories).

Now the website Geek.com is possibly providing further details.

According to a source in the know, Peter Parker decides to fight crime as Spider-Man because he is a big fan and idolizes Tony Stark/ Iron Man. It’s said Captain America: Civil War takes place ten years or so after the first Iron Man movie, so Peter would have been 5 years old when he first saw the news broadcasts about Iron Man.

It’s further said Tony Stark has been keeping tabs on “a certain young genius and his superhuman abilities” and goes to Peter Parker to recruit him with an offer of an “advanced Spider-suit to fight in,” which is an upgrade from whatever the 15-year-old Peter Parker has been wearing. Obviously as Peter is such a big fan, he is completely in awe of Tony Stark showing up at his door and accepts the offer.

We can even speculate that further evidence to support the theory/rumor comes from the viral marketing surrounding Ant-Man as the [fictional] WHiH news reports mentioned Tony Stark setting up scholarships for “promising students” in urban schools (i.e. Peter Parker).

Bring Back JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson For Spider-Man Reboot Launched

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23803:]]

A petition has been launched to bring back J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in future Marvel and Spider-Man movies.

Simmons played the character in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films.

Almost a year ago saw J.K. Simmons appear on the Howard Stern Show where the fan-favorite actor stated he would like to return.

“Absolutely,” Simmons responded when questioned if he would play J. Jonah Jameson again.

Marvel and Sony are currently rebooting Spider-Man with Tom Holland who will first appear in Captain America: Civil War, followed up possibly by a Doctor Strange appearance, and then the 2017 Spider-Man standalone movie.

You can head on over to Change.org to voice your support for the return of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

It is without a doubt that casting JK Simmons in the role of J.Jonah Jameson was another perfect casting choice just like RDJ as Tony Stark. He was just so damn perfect in the original Raimi trilogy and to use anyone else is absurd. They didn’t even dare try recasting him in the Mark Webb reboot and only had a cameo as an email?!? That’s because they know that it’s impossible to get anyone else for this role and even though JK is 61 years old now, age doesn’t matter since he wont do much physical action and it would be the right first step into introducing us to the new Spider-Man.

Yes, I am very serious.

Open Rivers Film Academy Launches Cinema South Expo

The State of Georgia’s First Motion Picture Career and Education Expo

Last year, more than 200 major film and television projects were shot in Georgia, making it home to the fastest growing entertainment industry in the world. With this status comes many benefits, including increased revenue in the state and also increased job opportunities. The question is, where can Georgia residents go to learn about working in the exciting field of motion picture and television production?

To answer this question and help train Georgia residents for careers in film and television, Open Rivers Film Academy launches Cinema South Motion Picture Career & Education Expo – the first film, television and digital production career expo of its kind in the state of Georgia. The Expo will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 10AM to 5PM at the Open Rivers Film Academy. Open Rivers Film Academy is located in Pinewood Production Centre, 461 Sandy Creek Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Military Veterans will be able to gain special entry to the expo beginning at 9AM on that day. Here is a sneak peek at what attendees can expect:

“There hasn’t been an event like this where not only aspiring filmmakers, but anyone seeking career direction in the industry could go to meet and engage film and television veterans about their craft,” stated Tammy Williams, CEO of Open Rivers Pictures and founder of Cinema South Expo. Williams saw in her students, and the community at large, a strong desire to interact with and gain insight from well-established industry professionals. “There are three questions that we heard the community asking: what careers can I pursue in the industry, how do I get started and where are the jobs?’ says Williams. “It is our goal to provide them with the practical answers they need to accomplish their goals,” added Williams.

Expos are common in a variety of industries; they create and hone interest, as well as help foster viable networking contacts for those just starting or interested in pursuing careers. “The television and film industry is growing at a rapid pace, and it is also highly competitive,” says Williams. “Cinema South Expo is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to work in this field. We hope to enlighten attendees about the numerous career options that exist as well as provide a wealth of information to help each person get in the door of their desired area.”

A few of the confirmed panelists for this event are:

James Young – Stuntman & Fight Coordinator

Most of the time he is unrecognizable, because he’s the man behind the mask, doubling for actors and performing all of those really cool fight scenes.  One of the industry’s most sought after fight coordinators, his credits include: Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Garden of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and so many more!

Camille Friend – Department Head Hairstylist

Camille’s current credits cover various mediums, including film, television, print and music videos. The diversity of her projects is impressive and reads like an A-list blockbuster script. Camille’s feature films include The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1&2, Hateful Eight, Dreamgirls, Captain America-Civil War, Django Unchained and The Help.

Carol Rasheed

Whether she’s developing one of her celebrated spas, or on location designing makeup for film and television, or consulting for a national network, Carol brings an overflowing wealth of expertise. Her credits include: Rectify, Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Walking Dead, Lawless, Solace, Steel Magnolias, Fist Fight and The Detour.

David Irwin

Starting as a Production Assistant, David rose through the ranks, from Best Boy to Gaffer and now serves as Operations Manager for one of the top providers in lighting and grip equipment, MBSE. David has a diverse film and tv portfolio, which includes Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ray Donovan, The Voice, Revenge and so many more!

Jasmine Burke

Jasmine Burke is a filmmaker, singer and advocate for children’s causes. Burke is starring in TV One’s movie premiere of Skinned and she is one of the leading actors in Bounce TV’s new drama series, Saints & Sinners. Burke landed her first guest-starring role in Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns”. Anthony & Joe Russo Talk Tone Of Infinity War Versus Captain America Movies

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23783:]]

This past weekend saw directors Anthony and Joe Russo take part in the Captain America: Civil War panel. Below you can check out what the two had to say about the difference in tone between Infinity War and the Captain America movies.

Other panel highlights include:

• Frank Grillo Reveals Potential Captain America: Civil War Spider-Man & Cap Spoilers

• Chris Evans Wants The Human Torch On His Side In Captain America: Civil War

• Chris Evans Wants Captain America To Interact With Wolverine

• 67 Characters So Far For The Avengers: Infinity War

Watch the Captain America: Civil War panel

Joe Russo on Infinity War:

Joe Russo: We have some big stuff cooked up in Infinity War. We are literally finishing Civil War and prepping Infinity War at the same time. We have such a great interaction with the cast… It’s really steered the last two movies and will for the Infinity Warmovies — interacting with the cast and talking about how they want to evolve the characters and where they want to see the characters go. It creates a very organic and natural process, which I also think makes it surprising and exciting for you guys [the fans].

Differences in tone:

Joe Russo: Winter Soldier and Civil War are companion pieces. They are Captain America films,  driven by the tone and execution that is tied to that character. The style of camera work that we use in those movies, there is a style of performance we use in those films, music, everything ties together tonally in those movies.

You will see in Civil War a shift that occurs half way through the movie in tone and in camera work. That implies the difference you will see in Infinity War. Obviously, those are very large scale movies, which is why we chose to shoot those movies in IMAX because we want the scope, of what IMAX brings you, you have larger than life characers figuritively and literally.

So I think the tone of Infinity War will be a little different because you are also incorporating characters from other Marvel films that don’t have the same tone as the Captain America films. So the tone will shift. The camera work will shift. The music will shift.

I think everything will be distinctive in those movies, but I still think, you know ultimately, we love action… We’ll still have our action set pieces. I think there will be some continuity of style. We also want to have some surprises in store for you guys. We want to shift it up. You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over.

Anthony Russo on Infinity War:

Anthony Russo: The good news is that Infinity War is meant to be the culmination of the MCU up until this moment and be a comprehensive sort of culmination to what the MCU has been. I think on the up side, everybody is going to have an oppurtunity to interact with a whole bunch of people in not too long. That’s one of the exciting things about that film.

“The Avengers: Infinity War” Part 1 hits May 4, 2018; Part 2 lands May 3, 2019.

Anthony & Joe Russo Talk Black Panther & Spider-Man Sides In Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23779:]]

While speaking with the foreign press about Captain America: Civil War, Anthony and Joe Russo were asked about Black Panther and Spider-Man, with it brought up the characters are similar in that they aren’t directly connected to The Avengers. The Russo brothers talk about the sides the characters may or may not choose in addition to letting it be known when Spider-Man gets introduced in the film.

“They both have a special place in Civil War because of the reasons you’re saying,” Anthony Russo offered. “They don’t fall neatly into either side.”

“For the emotional reasons that Tony and Cap do,” Joe Russo added.

On Black Panther:

“Black Panther is one of our favorite characters in the movie because he is on his own side in this film,” Anthony Russo said. “He’s not aligned with either side, and he has his own road forward with the movie that’s very central to the plot of the film – like he’s very invested emotionally – but it doesn’t fall into clean sides.”

On Spider-Man:

“Spider-Man, similarly, enters the movie after the Avengers pick sides,” Anthony Russo continued. “He doesn’t have a huge investment politically, but he develops a very personal relationship why he picks a side. I won’t talk about the personal relationship he develops. It’s very interesting. Very Cool. One of the most special parts of the movie.”

The Russo’s also smiled and responded “I don’t know” when asked if we’ll ever get a glimpse of Spider-Man before Captain America: Civil War.

“Who knows. Who can say,” Joe Russo teased with a grin.

Anthony & Joe Russo Would Be Interested In Black Widow Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23778:]]

If Marvel Studios was ever to make a Black Widow solo movie, would Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors behind Captain America: Civil War, be interested?

You betcha.

Anthony and Joe Russo were asked about a Black Widow movie while doing press for the Chinese. Here is what they had to say:

“Hell, yeah. We love that character,” Joe Russo responded.

“And we love Scarlett [Johansson],” Anthony Russo added.

“We find that the character is one of the richest, if not the richest character,  in the Marvel universe,” Joe Russo said. “A very complex character, who is haunted by demons and her understanding of the world is fascinating. I think there is a lot that can be done with that character.”

Regarding Black Widow in Captain America: Civil War, Anthony Russo said:

“Her and Captain America, I think their relationship came to a very intersting place in The Winter Soldier. They developed a trust of one another that was really intersting. One of our favorite parts of that movie was the relationship between him and her. And so because they have such a thick emotional relationship, yes, in Civil War, of course we are going to use that. She has a very important role in Civil War, it’s a very complicated role in Civil War, and it goes very much to the heart of the relationship of her and Captain America.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

No Red Hulk For Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23777:]]

With William Hurt reprising as General Thunderbolt Ross from The Incredible Hulk movie for Captain America: Civil War, some fans online speculated the Red Hulk might make an appearance.

Now in an interview with the Chinese press, Anthony and Joe Russo shoot down an appearance by the Red Hulk.

“There’s always a chance in Marvel you could see anything, but let’s say: There is no Red Hulk in Civil War.”

The Russo’s also offer a description of the role Ross will be playing in Captain America: Civil War.

“General Ross is a big presence in Civil War. He’s a character who was ham-fisted in his approach in The Incredible Hulk. I think that’s a polite way to put it. And I think he’s learned from his over-aggressiveness in that movie and he’s become more of a politicaian. He’s much savvier now, and he’s cornering the Avengers. Superheroes have always been anathema to him; he’s not a fan of them. So now he’s come at them strategically, by aligning the world against them and cornering them… I think you’ll find he’s grown as a character, he’s different than he was in Incredible Hulk, and he’s a more formidable, policital opponent to him.”

In addition to a possible first look at Spidey merchandise, a potential description for Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War lands online.

A redditor posted some Atlanta set images from Captain America: Civil War in which he states Spider-Man was in involved. The description appears to be from early filming as it’s noted Tom Holland wasn’t apparently cast, and they may have been using a placeholder costume.

We do see the scene may involve both Captain America and Falcon, and Iron Man even gets a mention.

Hello! I am the previously described friend.

To be more accurate, Spidey wasn’t in the scene they were filming outside my place, but they were reviewing VFX work on a macbook pro after filming for the day.

I only knew they were VFX shots because the guys were doing things that were impossible to be filmed on the day (Cap throwing his shield at a full IronMan suit flying in the air, etc) and from my admittedly distant view, it looked photoreal and not an animatic.

After the action beats, there were several shots of Spidey sitting or standing on the edge of a building next to (I believe) Ironman and several other super heroes. He was visibly shorter than everyone which was a pretty cool look. You could really tell he was a kid. Overall the suit looked pretty similar to the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spiderman 2 outfit with the large comic-booky eyes, except this time they were extremely reflective. I’ve since read rumors about him having goggles, but from what I saw they were the same large spidey-shape we’re used to, and there was no visible strap around his head. It makes sense that they could be reflective glass, though. (Basically chrome eyes – not white or matte silver.) The only reason why this stuck out to me was because Spidey’s eyes were reflecting the setting sun.

But take all of this with a grain of salt as far as final designs go. At that time they had flown multiple actors out here for screen-tests, so no one had been locked down as Spider-Man yet. Plus with the other obvious-CG shots, I’m assuming the outfit I saw was fully CG, and could just be a placeholder. (Like I said, from what little I saw, it looked a lot like the 2nd Garfield Spider-Man movie, which admittedly is extremely close to the comic design.)

Anyway, as proof, here’s two shots I took earlier in the day.

The only thing really sticking out to me are those patches on the arms. I didn’t catch that at all from what I saw. Basically the only takeaway I had at the time is that the general shapes were very much the Spidey we know. It wasn’t the weird tapered swirly basketball crap from Amazing 1, nor was it a patched together costume a kid would make. The eye size was comparable to the last Andrew Garfield film, but were highly reflective like glass. All in all it just looked like a good Spider-Man….just one a good couple of inches shorter than the rest of the Avengers. I didn’t see anything lower than his hips, I think, so I don’t know if he had shoe soles or anything like that for his feet. Truthfully if my buddy didn’t bring it up in this thread, I really wouldn’t have chatted on the internet about it because there isn’t a whole lot different about the overall design from what I could make out. It was just cool to see Spider-Man. 🙂

Chris Evans Wants Captain America To Interact With Wolverine

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23739:]]

Back last Summer saw a rumor hit that an Avengers and X-Men movie is being planned for 2020.

While the validity of the rumor must be questioned due to the properties being owned by different studios, we now hear from Chris Evans who mentions Wolverine.

At this weekend’s Wizard World New Orleans comic-con, the members of the Captain America: Civil War panel were asked, with all the new characters coming up, who would they like to interact with from the Marvel Universe?

Chris Evans responded with Wolverine.

“I would say Wolverine. I don’t know if that would ever happen, but in the Marvel world, wouldn’t that be fun?” Evans said. “Wouldn’t that be a great little blend, a crossover. Because we don’t have enough crossovers, but still. That would be great.”

Evans also previously offered earlier in the panel that he would like another Fox-owned character by his side — The Human Torch.

The other panelists responded to the question as well:

Mackie: I would say She-Thor. Nothing weird. Nothing weird.

Atwell: Black Widow, for me. For sure.

Grillo: Spider-Man. I love Spider-Man.

Joe Russo: You haven’t interacted with Spider-Man?

Grillo: I have interacted with Spider-Man, but it’s none of your business. [laughter]

Renner: Oh, Mockingbird. That’s pretty good.

A leaked piece of Spider-Man merchandise may offer clues as to the look of the new Tom Holland Spider-Man costume for Captain America: Civil War.

While the Spider-Man hoodie is said to have been under embargo until this Friday, a Twitter user is claiming this is the design, which is similar to the comic book version.

As noted, the hoodie seems similar to the potential Spider-Man costume teaser images the Russo Bros. tweeted out.

Check out the pics below.

Chris Evans Wants The Human Torch On His Side In Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23737:]]

Flame on!

At the recent Wizard World New Orleans comic-con panel for Captain America: Civil War, Chris Evans was asked by a fan if he could pick any Marvel character to be on his side and have his back, who would it be?

Evans’ answer? Of course, the Human Torch!

“I would take Johnny Storm,” Evans said. “I would take… I just like the guy. I just like the guy. I think he’s fun. It would be fun to fight with him. I think he would be cracking jokes and having a good time. I just want to hang out with him, really.”

Joe Russo then interjected, “Frank [Grillo] just looked at Mackie and said, ‘Who the hell is Johnny Storm?'”

Evans responded, “The Human Torch,” with Mackie heard in the background laughing.

As we all know, prior to playing Captain America, Chris Evans played The Human Torch in the two Fantastic Four movies.

You can watch the mention of the Human Torch by Evans around the 34:00 mark below.

Update: Evans also mentions Wolverine.

Frank Grillo Reveals Potential Captain America: Civil War Spoiler

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23736:]]

The Wizard World New Orleans comic-con featured a Captain America: Civil War panel with Frank Grillo being a member.

During the audience Q&A, the panel was asked if there was a scene they wanted to film, but haven’t been able to yet.

Frank Grillo responded by stating, “I would like to kill Captain America.”

This is potentially a spoiler as if Grillo didn’t film the scene, we then know Crossbones doesn’t kill Captain America in Civil War.

Anthony and Joe Russo were quick to follow up Grillo’s comments with:

“We may or may not have filmed that scene, though,” Joe Russo stated.

Anthony Russo added, “She said a scene that you haven’t done.”

Earlier in the panel also saw Frank Grillo talk his relationship with Captain America and state he thinks the Crossbones costume is the best.

“In the first film, I was friends with him [Captain America],” Grillo offered. “You know, there was this moral problem I was having, but not in the second one [smiles]. I have a clear cut mission.

“I got to tell you, when I saw the costume, when it was done, to me – I know you guys all have these fancy costumes and stuff – I think Crossbones has the baddest costume of everybody,” Grillo said.

Grillo also told the audience the characteristic from Crossbones that he would want in everyday life.

“I would be homicidal,” Grillo joked, to the delight of the crowd, which erupted in laughter.

Update: Grillo also offers up what Marvel character he would like to interact with that he hasn’t, which offers another potential Civil War spoiler.

“Spider-Man. I love Spider-Man,” Grillo said.

Joe Russo then questioned, “You haven’t interacted with Spider-Man,” to which Grillo joked, “I have interacted with Spider-Man. It’s none of your business.” The Russo brothers and everyone can then be seen laughing.

Marvel Comics Killing Off Character in Civil War 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23133:]]

With the upcoming release of the Captain America: Civil War movie, Marvel Comics is also releasing a new Civil War II comic this year.

Now it’s learned Marvel Comics is killing off a character with the event.

According to the NY Daily News, the death comes at the hands of a “fellow costumed hero.”

The superhero to die obviously isn’t revealed, but Marvel Comics writer James Robinson offered the following:

“That’s like an epic,” says Robinson. “I’m genuinely shocked.”

The plot of the series is also revealed:

“A mysterious new Marvel character comes to the attention of the world, one who has the power to calculate the outcome of future events with a high degree of accuracy,” according to the synopsis. “This predictive power divides the Marvel heroes on how best to capitalize on this aggregated information, with Captain Marvel leading the charge to profile future crimes and attacks before they occur, and Iron Man adopting the position that the punishment cannot come before the crime.”

Bendis, writer of the Civil War II event, also offered the following about the story:

“People’s personal accountability is the theme of this one,” Bendis explains to his peers of his project with artist David Marquez. “From the way cops are acting on camera, to the way people talk to each other online.”

As the story unfolds this new seer predicts the hero in question will be the cause of a major incident of destruction in three days, requiring the other good guys to make a tough call. The writer just hasn’t figured what or how bad that cataclysm will be.

“It has to fall somewhere between Hitler and self-defense,” Bendis says.

First Look At Spider-Man Costume In Captain America: Civil War Coming Soon?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23702:]]

This is pure speculation on my part, but Marvel may be revealing a first look at Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War by January 15th.

It’s learned new Spider-Man merchandise is under embargo until the 15th, which is next Friday.

Merchoid.com has a listing for an officially licensed Spider-Man hoodie where it’s stated:

Ok, so here’s the deal: we have photos of the Spider-man hoodie coming very soon. We really, REALLY want to show it to you now, but we’re not allowed to just yet. Make sure you check back on the 15th January for your very first look!

With the images under embargo, it’s possible the pics of the hoodie may give clues as to the design of the new Tom Holland Spider-Man costume. Taking a quick glance at some of the related products seems to match the color schemes for the various properties (Destiny, Super Mario, Assassin’s Creed, Captain America, etc).

This also begs the question, if the site is under embargo, does that mean more Spider-Man merchandise will be released next week? And the obvious: Will Marvel reveal a look at Tom Holland’s Spider-Man costume next week?

Of course, the Spider-Man hoodie could simply have nothing to do with the movie.

Star Wars: Rogue One Trailer Rumored Attached To Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23682:]]

In what’s probably a no-brainer, it’s being rumored the Star Wars: Rogue One trailer will be attached to Captain America: Civil War.

Actually, the second teaser for The Force Awakens was attached to The Avengers 2, so it’s possible Disney may release the first Star Wars: Rogue One teaser prior to that (maybe during the Super Bowl?).

Slash Film has also rounded up a batch of Star Wars: Rogue One rumors which includes:

• Mads Mikkelsen‘s character is the Imperial scientist chiefly responsible for getting the final Death Star fully functional (via Making Star Wars).

Mads Mikkelsen (Galen appears to be his name in the film) is kind of the key to the film in a way. He is a scientist that took over the Geonosian Death Star project. He solved several of the flaws the Empire could not and is sort of a revered person in the Empire for his contributions. However, Mikkelsen’s character is a Robert Oppenheimer-type character. Oppenheimer helped design the atomic bomb only to say, “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” The guilt “Galen” feels for his contributions to the Empire become too much and he defects, attempting to make things right. In order to do this, he enlists the help of his only daughter….

• Mikkelsen’s daughter may be Felicity Jones’ character:  teams up with a group of rebels (and bounty hunters) to destroy what her father built.

Harry Potter‘s Guy Henry is believed to be playing an Imperial Officer (via Jedi News).

• Possible scene description with Bounty Hunters:

On the street, two men walk in front of the wreckage of the black-and-white X-wing fighter. It isn’t clear if they were a part of the crash or if it was just a part of their entrance. The first man has a long rifle that in spirit seems to resemble Doc Brown’s riffle from Back to the Future Part III. He has a black leather trench coat on. His mask is dull red and the visor is like a cross between Kylo Ren and and the Imperial guards from Return of the Jedi. The other man has a brown trench coat and a really big rifle with a stock that reminds me of the guns used on Hoth by the rebels in The Empire Strikes Back. If I had to guess, I would say these two are probably bounty hunters or two of the coolest extras of all time.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” has a December 16, 2016 release directed by Gareth Edwards starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in Rogue One, and Riz Ahmed.

Synopsis:

Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.
