In addition to Thunderbolts, Marvel’s announcements at the D23 Expo include Captain America: New World Order.
Marvel showed off the logo with Anthony Mackie on stage who will reprise as Sam Wilson and following the Disney Plus The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, Mackie will be the new MCU’s Captain America.
Captain America: New World Order announcements
The announcements include Tim Blake Nelson returns as Dr. Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader, reprising his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.
Tim Blake Nelson is known for playing the Looking Glass in the HBO Watchmen series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and lots more.
Danny Ramirez is also returning from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and is playing Joaquin Torres, with Carl Lumbly also back as Isaiah Bradley.
It is also reported Shira Haas is playing Israeli superheroine Sabra.
Director Julius Onah describes the flick as a “paranoid thriller.”
A recent rumor also offers Chris Evans might be back as Cap but in a completely different approach.
Captain America: New World Order has a May 3, 2024 release date.
