Star Wars: Episode VIII Films In London In A Few Weeks

Let’s dive into the galaxy of the iconic Star Wars series! Recently, John Boyega, the key actor from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, shared that shooting for Star Wars: Episode VIII will commence soon in London.

The Excitement Builds for Star Wars: Episode VIII

Celebrity actor Mark Hamill has already shot a few scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII, but now it’s John Boyega’s turn. The production for this much-awaited sequel to The Force Awakens is supposed to kick off within a few weeks in the city of London.

A Surprise Visit by John Boyega

According to the UK’s Sky News, John Boyega appeared unexpectedly at a screening of The Force Awakens in Brixton and expressed his exhilaration about working on the next movie.

In his words to the audience, “So I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting this movie. The movie is yours now and I really hope you enjoyed it and we are so happy to be starting on Episode Eight in a few weeks in London and it is going to be fun. May the force be with you always.”

Release Date and Feedback on the Script

With the release date set for May 26, 2017, Star Wars: Episode VIII is directed by Rian Johnson. Moreover, Greg Grunberg, JJ Abrams’s long-time friend since kindergarten and the actor who portrays Snap Wexley, revealed that Abrams had read the script for Episode VIII and found it so compelling that he wished he was returning to direct it.

While there is no official title yet for Episode VIII, if it follows the same pattern as “The Force Awakens,” which paid tribute to “A New Hope,” the new title might potentially echo “Empire Strikes Back.” Do you have any thoughts on this?
