Disney Brings Out the Big Guns: Avatar 3 Trailer Attached To Fantastic Four

Disney’s not playing around with The Fantastic Four. The studio is attaching the first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash to the Marvel reboot, and you’ll only be able to see it in theaters this weekend.

First Look at Avatar: Fire and Ash

Fans heading to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps this weekend will be treated to the first public screening of the Avatar threequel trailer. It’s said to be the same footage that debuted behind closed doors at CinemaCon earlier this year, and it won’t be available online, at least for now.

The trailer returns viewers to Pandora, spotlighting two new Na’vi tribes:

  • The Wind Traders – sky dwellers who fly balloon-like craft
  • The Fire People – mounted warriors who ride flying beasts and fire flaming arrows

One clash ends with a Na’vi being taken out mid-air. The tone is heavier this time around, with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) telling Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), “We can not live like this, baby. We can not live with this hate.”

What’s the Story?

Fire and Ash picks up directly after The Way of Water, which ended with Jake and his family allying with the ocean-dwelling Metkayina clan to push back against the human invaders.

Now they’re up against the Ash People, Na’vi who’ve broken from their peaceful traditions and aligned themselves against Jake’s tribe. Internal conflict is brewing, setting up a larger war on Pandora.

Avatar 3 Release and Franchise Outlook

  • Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters December 19, 2025
  • Avatar 4 is scheduled for December 21, 2029
  • Avatar 5 lands on December 19, 2031

The first two films made over $2 billion apiece. If Fire and Ash does the same, it’ll make Avatar the first franchise in history with three $2 billion movies.
