John Boyega was done dirty in Disney’s Star Wars Trilogy, so maybe they can fix things in the new Daisy Ridley flick.
Daisy Ridley is supposed to be returning in a new Star Wars movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and was asked if John Boyega will be returning as Finn.
THR notes she played coy but when asked if she would like Boyega back said, “Absolutely, of course. It feels like we should, yeah.”
Following the Disney Star Wars Trilogy, John Boyega was actually pretty bitter about how things ended up for Finn, but has since reversed course and said he would be open for a return.
“[The comments I made were] a few years ago, so they were the subject of that particular project,” he told Tech Radar back in July of 2023. “But I’m open to all characters and scripts that are enjoyable, have a great cast attached, and a terrific director. So yeah, I’m open to all opportunities.”
At the time, Boyega also ranked the Disney Star Wars movies and, much like most fans, said he favored The Force Awakens, with The Last Jedi in last.
“The Force Awakens is most definitely the best,” Boyega revealed to First We Feast. “Second for me comes Star Wars 9, and then the worst, in the most respectful sense, is Episode 8.” He added with a sarcastic look on his face that “they’re all lovely.”
John Boyega also recently reacted to Marvel fans casting him as the new Kang, which he also didn’t agree with.
The Daisy Ridley and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Star Wars movie doesn’t have a release date as of yet. The title is said to be New Jedi Order.
