‘Fantastic Four’ Reed Richards Rumors Include Star Wars, Christopher Nolan Actors

Even more Fantastic Four rumors are made known, this time surrounding the casting of Reed Richards, which follows no announcements at the D23 Expo.

YouTuber Grace Randolph who got all bent out of shape for the fan response to her Disney Little Mermaid video covered the Marvel D23 announcements where one of her fans asked about a shortlist of actors for Reed Richards.

Randolph didn’t offer any specific names for some reason but did offer clues about who Marvel is looking at for the role (via Reddit):

  • Someone from Star Wars
  • Someone from a Netflix show
  • Someone from a Christopher Nolan movie
  • Someone who voiced a character in a recent Disney live-action movie
  • Someone who works for another franchise

Fantastic Four Reed Richards casting rumors:

We can guess who some of those actors might be based on previous rumors.

Someone from Star Wars could be John Boyega.

Someone from a Netflix show could be Penn Badgley or also could be Regé-Jean Page.

Someone from a Christopher Nolan movie – as suggested by Redditors, maybe Joseph Gordon Levitt? Or how about David Oyelowo? John David Washington? Fionn Whitehead (previously rumored for Nova)?

A recent Disney live-action movie actor? Joseph Gordon-Levitt pops up again (and actually fits the bill for all the categories but it sounds as if they are different actors). Donald Glover? Justin Theroux? Thomas Mann?

Someone who works for another franchise? DC’s Henry Cavill.

Regarding when the Fantastic Four announcements will be made, it’s been said to be a long way off as reporters for Deadline and THR offer Feige first wants to talk to director Matt Shakman about the casting who just signed on, and that there are more D23 Expos before the flick gets released.

So since Fantastic Four doesn’t get released until 2024, official announcements might not come for another year.
