Spider-Man: Brand New Day Already Beats Every Summer Movie in One Key Number

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Already Beats Every Summer Movie in One Key Number

UPDATE: That tracking lead has now converted into actual sales, as Brand New Day has posted the best first-day presales of any film in five years — and the strongest of 2026 — even without IMAX.

Spidey is already doing the heavy lifting, as the first tracking numbers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day are in, and one figure stands above the entire summer slate: interest.

The hype has a new focal point, as Sony has scheduled a worldwide fan event on June 17 that is widely expected to serve as the official trailer launch.

Per The Quorum via Puck News, the Tom Holland-led Sony and Marvel sequel is pulling the highest fan interest of any movie on the chart, a 66, ahead of Toy Story 5 (64), Minions & Monsters (53), and both The Odyssey and Moana at 47.

The Quorum uses audience surveys to track movie awareness and interest, offering an early look at which upcoming films people know about and whether they actually want to see them.

Awareness lands at 68, down 2 points from the prior read, while interest held flat at 66.

The dip is worth watching, but it’s hardly panic time this far out, as the film doesn’t open until July 31, 2026, and a new trailer is already rumored for next week.

Where Spider-Man Ranks On Awareness

On raw awareness, Brand New Day sits third on the chart at 68, behind Toy Story 5 (77) and the live-action Moana (69). That’s still a strong number, but it’s the interest figure that tells the real story.

Interest measures the audience that actually intends to show up, and there Spider-Man: Brand New Day is leading the pack.

High interest with slightly softer awareness this early is a normal pre-marketing pattern: the committed fans are locked in, and the top-of-funnel awareness number is the easier one to grow.

The Trailer Could Move The Numbers

A new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer is rumored to drop, following leaks teasing details involving the Hulk, Peter Parker, and the larger direction of the story, exactly the kind of push that pulls awareness back up.

With the movie still over a month out and three full weeks behind Moana‘s July 10 opening, Sony and Marvel have plenty of runway.

The flat interest number is the takeaway: the audience is already there in force. If the rumored trailer lands, expect both numbers to climb.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens July 31, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, with Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and more.
