A new update surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day is again pointing to Sadie Sink playing one of Marvel’s most powerful mutants.
Cryptic HD QUALITY on X has doubled down on earlier claims that Sink is portraying Jean Grey in the upcoming Spider-Man film.
Marvel Studios and Sony have not confirmed Sink’s role.
Insider Doubles Down On Jean Grey Claim
Cryptic’s latest comments reiterate what was first said months ago (not 48 hours) — that Sink is indeed Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The rumor has circulated widely across fan communities and industry rumor sites after Josh of Den of Nerds first posted the claim online, which sparked major reactions among Marvel fans.
Sink joined the film in 2025 in a mystery role, and Marvel has remained tight-lipped about who she is playing. Rumors also offer Jean Grey is the reason that Mark Ruffalo’s Banner returns as the Savage Hulk.
If the rumors prove true, it would mark the first major MCU introduction of Jean Grey ahead of Marvel’s larger mutant and X-Men plans following Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, with Zendaya returning as MJ and Jon Bernthal set to appear as The Punisher.
