It looks like it might be Spider-Man’s turn to own Wonder Woman as the DC vs Marvel wars continue with the release of this week’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
While Wonder Woman beat out Spider-Man: Homecoming for the Summer’s most anticipated movie, Fandango now reports ticket sales for Spider-Man: Homecoming are out pacing Wonder Woman at the same point in their ticket sales cycle.
It also presently looks to be close to the wire regarding the Spider-Man: Homecoming Thursday advance screening box office versus that of Wonder Woman as both look to be around $11 million. It’s too early to call as the West Coast numbers still need to come in.
What immensely helped Wonder Woman be so successful was word-of-mouth and positive reviews (and of course simply being a good movie), which looks to be the same for Spider-Man: Homecoming as Homecoming has a present 93% positive Rotten Tomatoes score. Wonder Woman finished with a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score.
