Tom Holland Hurt Filming Spider-Man 4: Suffers Concussion

Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Tom Holland was hospitalized after a stunt went wrong on Friday, resulting in a mild concussion and a temporary pause in filming in the U.K.

Reports say he was treated and released; production has been suspended out of precaution.

Update: It’s reported filming will resume on Monday, September 29, and that the release date is not impacted.

What happened

According to The Sun, a stunt reportedly went wrong on Friday, where Holland “cracked his head” and was treated for concussion.

Coverage cites ongoing U.K. shoots, including Leavesden Studios (Watford) and Glasgow unit work; the incident timing lines up with the U.K. schedule.

As a result, filming is said to be paused “for a few days” while plans are adjusted.

Condition and next steps

While The Sun initially reported Holland would be out for a while, Deadline adds they’re sources are stating Holland will take a short break “out of precaution” and is expected back soon.

At a Mayfair charity event over the weekend, Tom Holland attended with fiancée Zendaya but, according to The Sun, left early after feeling unwell.

His father, comedian Dominic Holland, told attendees Tom would be away from filming “for a while.”

However, Deadline‘s report says that Tom Holland is expected to return to filming in a few days.

The Sun also reported a woman—believed to be a stunt double—was also taken to hospital. However, Deadline says no additional injuries were logged.

Authorities could review the fall, per The Sun’s report.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues Sony/Marvel’s Holland-led series and is dated for July 31, 2026. The cast includes Zendaya back as MJ, Jacob Batalon returns as Ned, Sadie Sink in an unknown role, and Liza Colón-Zayas in a mystery role. Jon Bernthal stars as The Punisher, with Michael Mando as Scorpion. Rumors offers Mark Ruffalo appears as Savage Hulk.
