Nova Movie Rumored: Hopefully Without Ms. Marvel and Sam Alexander

Kevin Feige has a decision on his hands: Does he continue the trend of flushing the MCU down the toilet or does he pull a 180 and bring the MCU back to its glory years?

Kevin Feige can do either with a Nova movie.

According to Daniel RPK, a Nova movie is now happening instead of a cruddy Disney+ series.

NINO or Richard Rider in the MCU?

Rumors have offered gay Lainto actor Froy Gutierrez might be playing Nova in the MCU, which obviously would be the woke Fake Nova, Sam Alexander, aka who the Marvel Cosmic fans have dubbed Nova In Name Only (NINO).

Much like Ms. Marvel, NINO is atrocious, never sells any comic books, and the fans can’t stand him. Both Ms. Marvel and NINO have also been heavily forced onto the fans despite never selling and not being popular (per Marvel Comics editor at the time, Bill Rosemann, Rider comics had “rock solid” sales). They’re a part of the woke “Marvel NOW!” initiative that was launched around 2012 to replace original characters with diverse characters, which also includes Carol Danvers becoming Captain Marvel. How’d that work out for The Marvels?

So Feige has a decision to make, does he go with the NINO version or the real deal Richard Rider?

Nova already set up in the MCU

I’ve said this time and time again, but if you haven’t read them, read the late Keith Giffen’s Annihilation event series and related titles, which includes Drax, Annihilation: Super Skrull, Annihilation Silver Surfer, and Annihilation Nova. Then read Abnett’s 2007 Nova series, 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy series, The Thanos Imperative, War of Kings, Realm of Kings and everything DnA Marvel Cosmic. It’s what led to James Gunn adapting Guardians of the Galaxy (comics are light years better) and it’s actually even been set up already in the MCU.

The start of Infinity War revealed that Thanos destroyed Xander to acquire the Power Stone. In the Annihilation event, Annihilus destroys Xandar when he invades the universe from the Negative Zone. This leaves Richard Rider as the last remaining member of the Nova Corps and he houses the full power of the Nova Force, the World Mind.

Jim Starlin also revealed there was a 45-minute deleted scene from Infinity War featuring the destruction of Xandar.

“But about a month before the movie came out, I got an email or something from Joe [Russo] saying, ‘the 45 minutes of Thanos that we had at the beginning of Infinity War, we had it cut.’ There was a whole sequence of him getting the first gem and they had to cut that out,” Starlin said. “They shot it, but they never wanted to spend the money on the effects and they didn’t want the movie to be as long as the second one [Endgame] was. They didn’t realize it was going to be quite the hit it was.”

Interestingly enough, when asked, the Russos said Nova was there during the big battle in Avengers: Endgame.

How did Quantumania and The Marvels work out?

So Feige can either go with the woke version of Nova that everybody hates, much like Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel, or go with the much better version, the original, that has been in existence for nearly 50 years.

Oh, and if Feige is trying to use both in the MCU, basically using Richard Rider as bait-and-switch in another desperate attempt to sell NINO to the fans, Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness tried that in the comics, another epic failure. How’d Quantumania work out?

The Nova movie should be more serious, a military science-fiction type of flick. A redditor gets it right, something closer to Rogue One.
