An Annihilation movie is once again rumored for the MCU which is said to involve both Nova and Adam Warlock in a huge way.
Annihilation was the Marvel Cosmic comic book event from 2005/6 which rocketed Nova to the forefront of Marvel Cosmic universe, and the event series also led to the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy series which sort of inspired the goofy James Gunn movies.
As a result of those James Gunn movies, Marvel Comics canceled its Marvel Cosmic line up of comics that included Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy and relaunched to make the comics more in line with Gunn’s goofy attempt at the MCU films.
Long time followers of this site will know that I got my launch by promoting Marvel Cosmic, specifically the 2007 Nova series and the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy series that followed Annihilation. I regularly was in touch with the Marvel Comics editor and the creative teams behind the series offering advice and tips for the characters. Marvel Comics often used us to release exclusive previews, solicits and interviews to promote their Marvel Cosmic brand (hence “Cosmic Book News” – cosmic comic book news). Annihilation, Nova, Adam Warlock MCU rumors
Getting back to the Annihilation movie rumor, it’s claimed it will be a big event film featuring the MCU cosmic characters.
It’s said both Nova and Adam Warlock will be a huge part of the movie, but that it won’t be their MCU debut, meaning Nova and Adam Warlock will appear in movies prior to the Annihilation film.
It’s claimed that Nova and Adam Warlock will team up with other MCU cosmic characters, such as Captain Marvel, Moondragon and Quasar (hopefully Wendell Vaughn and not the PC-alien lesbian replacement with Phyla) to take on Annihilus, Galactus, and Terrax (Fantastic Four were featured in the recent Annihilation: Scourge comic).
It’s unknown just how close the MCU Annihilation movie will follow the comics.

Nova MCU rumors
Previous Nova rumors made mention that Nova would debut in Captain Marvel 2 and possibly be tied to Nick Fury and SWORD.
It’s thought Adam Warlock may debut in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
It’s also been rumored that a Christopher Nolan actor may be up to play the role of Richard Rider in the MCU, with me guessing possibly Nolan’s Dunkirk actors, Harry Styles or Fionn Whitehead.
A previous rumor also offered that Annihilation would come prior to a big Secret Wars Avengers event film.
It’s also thought that The Avengers: Infinity War teased the introduction of Nova at the start of the movie which revealed Thanos and the Black Order had destroyed Xandar to acquire the Power Stone.
Nova was also originally said to be a part of The Avengers: Endgame.
