Another batch of Suicide Squad images has hit the net giving an up-close look at the characters and actors.

No Marvel Studios Stated Again For Comic-Con; Batman Vs Superman May Be Big

Confirming what James Gunn said back in March, now Deadline is stating that Marvel Studios will not have a presentation in Hall H at Comic-Con.

The report mentions that “Kevin Feige just doesn’t have anything new to show,” which is a rather odd statement as Marvel has Ant-Man opening the following week in addition to Marvel filming Captain America: Civil War and plans for Doctor Strange to be released in 2016, with filming to begin later this year.

There is also the fact that Marvel could have revealed their new Spider-Man at Comic-Con.

More than likely, Disney is holding back Marvel Studios from Comic-Con for either their own event, similar to the Avengers: Infinity War announcement with Black Panther at El Capitan theater from last year, or the Disney D23 Expo a month after Comic-Con in August.

It is noted that Marvel Studios’ absence will leave Warner Bros. with, potentially, a significant presence of its own as Batman Vs. Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League Part 1 are lined up. It’s possible Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and others may be at Comic-Con representing the DC movies.

For Marvel fans, while Marvel Studios will not be at the SDCC, Marvel Comics will be there with a booth and panels of their own.

Comic-Con takes place July 9-12 in San Diego.

With Paramount creating a big shared Transformers universe, it’s a possibility.

Check out set video below from Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 where Bumblebee apparently makes a cameo – of sorts.

Video is captured of filming taking place at some sort of parade where someone dressed up as Bumblebee gives one of the Turtles a high-five.

Suicide Squad Movie Merchandise To Be Aimed At Adults

As the 2015 Licensing Expo approaches, details continue to become known about WB’s merchandising plans surrounding their DC slate of movies.

It’s recently become known Wonder Woman will be featured prominently in Batman Vs. Superman merchanise, and now information about Suicide Squad is made known.

In their announcement about the Warner Bros. Consumer Products, it’s noted Suicide Squad merchandise will be geared toward adults:

Wonder Woman To Be Featured In Batman Vs. Superman Merchandise

A big complaint amongst the Marvel fans is that Disney skipped out on Black Widow merchandise for The Avengers 2.

Disney and Hasbro even went so far as changing a scene from the movie to remove Black Widow in the toy.

Mark Ruffalo and George Takei even had complaints.

The good news is that same can’t be said for Wonder Woman and Batman Vs. Superman.

This week sees the Licensing Expo out of Las Vegas in which various studios and merchandisers exhibit their plans for the related movies.

WB already announced their slate of products, which also included a Jakks Pacific Batman Vs. Superman announcement today.

Now in a report over at LicenseMag.com, it’s noted Wonder Woman will be featured promintently in Batman Vs. Superman merchandising.

“Our comprehensive program will include Wonder Woman in the merchandise lines and in standalone products supporting the film. We have always had a robust line for Wonder Woman, and her role in this film and future films offers us more opportunities to feature her character and empowering attributes in many creative ways.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

We get a look at the new upgraded(?) version of C3-PO in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as apparent merchandising has revealed C3-PO with a red arm.

It’s possible something happens to C3-P0 that causes him to lose an arm, so they use whatever spare parts are on hand to replace the arm.

Jurassic World IMAX To Include 6-Minutes Of Ant-Man

Marvel has announced a special 6-minute extended preview of Ant-Man will be attached to the IMAX 3D viewing of Jurassic World.

Marvel.com announced the news: Starting June 12, catch a six minute extended look at Marvel’s “Ant-Man” when you see “Jurassic World” in IMAX 3D.

Per the info, it appears the special Ant-Man preview is only to be shown with IMAX Jurassic World viewings.

Jurassic World hits June 12th starring Chris Pratt; Ant-Man officially opens July 17th starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas.

Watch: James Cameron Reacting To Terminator Genisys In New Featurette

The co-writer and director of the first two Terminator movies, James Cameron, weighs in on Terminator: Genisys in the above featurette.

Cameron, who didn’t have anything to do with the making of this film, notes he’s just a “fanboy” this time out and says it’s respectful of the first two films and more in the above video.

Dwayne Johnson Wants John Carpenter For Big Trouble In Little China Remake

Last week it became know that Dwayne Johnson will be starring in the remake of the John Carpenter 1986 cult-favorite flick, Big Trouble In Little China.

The original starred Kurt Russell as tough-guy truck driver Jack Burton who gets caught in-between a mystical feud in Chinatown involving his best friend and a green-eyed woman.

The Rock is set to play the Jack Burton character, and now Johnson states he wants original director John Carpenter involved.

“My response is: know that I come to the project with nothing but love and respect for the original, which is why we want to bring on John Carpenter,” Johnson told EW.com.

Johnson is aware of the fan response not only regarding all the recent remakes Hollywood has been doing as of late, but the reaction to him playing Jack Burton, which was received with mix feelings online.

“I loved the original when I was younger and I loved the main character – all the characters,” Johnson said. “It felt like if we surrounded ourselves with the right group of people, the right writers who loved the movie too and wanted to honor it, bring on John Carpenter in some capacity … If we did that, then we have a shot at hopefully making something good.”

Johnson, who will also be onboard as a producer, even continues with mention that if things go sour, he would walk away.

“Let’s see what feels good, what we can come up with and then go from there,” Johnson said. “And as we write it, if the whole thing starts to stink up, then we thank everybody for their efforts and accept this just couldn’t make it.”

Regarding the involvement of John Carpenter, fans asked Carpenter on Facebook about his thoughts on the Big Trouble in Little China remake last week, with Carpenter stating: “20th Centry Fox owns the rights,” and that “I only know what I read in the papers. I am not involved with it” and “I am doing fine. I didn’t write the original one–no harm no foul.”

JAKKS Pacific Creating Batman Vs. Superman Line Of Merchandise

JAKKS Pacific has announced a licensing agreement with WB Consumer Products for Batman Vs. Superman as well as announcing they have renewed licensing for the DC Comics brands, Batman, Superman, Justice League, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash and more.

Consumer Products to manufacture, distribute and market a line of toys and products based on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and RatPac Dune Entertainment’s highly anticipated feature film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2016. Watch: Chris Pratt Says Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Will Be Greatest Movie Of All Time

MTV caught up with Chris Pratt while promoting Jurassic World and asked the actor about Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Pratt wouldn’t offer anything about the movie other than taking a page from his favorite football team‘s running back, Marshawn Lynch, by replying: “I’m only here so the NFL won’t fine me.”

Pratt compared giving out details to spoiling Christmas presents, but Pratt did state he thinks Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will probably be the best movie ever.

Pratt also recently stated he teared up when he read the story for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and director James Gunn also said he finished the first draft of the script and offered new details in that there will be less characters used than the first movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has a May 5, 2017 release.

Batman and Superman – First Time Ever Together in a Theatrical Event!

For the first time ever, fans will see Batman and Superman together in the theatrical event of the year in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and WBCP stands tall at Licensing Expo with a powerhouse roster of global partners to support asBatman and Superman fly into theaters on March 25, 2016. WBCP promises to deliver on fan anticipation and licensing opportunities as this heroic theatrical event continues to build momentum through its licensing and merchandising programs around the world.  At the same time, the tentpole film will help drive the Batman and Superman franchises to new heights, offering licensees and retailers new opportunities to reach fans of all ages.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be supported by an impressive list of licensees, including global toy partner, Mattel, with a wide range toy line, including action figures, role-play, playsets and collectible figures, highlighted by the fan-favorite Movie Masters line.  Also supporting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be The LEGO Group, global construction partner; Rubie’s Costume Co. with a wide range of costume products based on the entire DC Comics portfolio, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice; and Thinkway Toys for role play items. DC Comics’ Super-Villains Team Up for First Time in Theatrical Film:

As the power of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and DC Entertainment’s film portfolio shows its strength, WBCP will also offer a targeted licensing and merchandising program focusing on collectors and adult fans in support of Suicide Squad, the first film to feature many of DC Comics’ iconic Super-Villains as a team, including Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Boomerang, Katana and The Joker, as the second theatrical release from the Studio’s DC Comics film slate rolls out.

From J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World:

The wizarding world continues to delight audiences with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling’s screenwriting debut, which marks an expanded creative partnership between Warner Bros. Entertainment and J.K. Rowling, and which will be fully supported by WBCP to offer fans an exciting licensing and merchandising program. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first in a new film series from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, is inspired by Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and the adventures of the book’s fictitious author, Newt Scamander.

DC Super Hero Girls Empowers Girls to True Potential:

In a revolutionary partnership, WBCP, DC Entertainment (DCE), Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) and Mattel have joined forces to launch the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, an exciting new universe of Super Heroic storytelling that will help build character and confidence, and empower girls to discover their true potential.  Developed for girls aged 6-12, DC Super Hero Girls stars the female Super Heroes and Super-Villains of DC Comics during their formative years.

DC Super Hero Girls will take the girls space by storm when it launches this fall as it plays out across multiple entertainment content platforms and product categories to create an immersive world. Featuring a completely new artistic style and aesthetic, this unprecedented initiative will include digital content and TV specials, while made-for-videos, publishing, toys, apparel and other products will begin to roll out in 2016, providing opportunities for girls to interact with characters, learn about the storylines, and engage in customizable play.

The LEGO Group will also be key to building the DC Super Hero Girls franchise, leveraging their experience and success engaging girls in creative construction play to bolster this universe through an array of LEGO building sets designed to inspire girls’ imaginations.

All-New Adventures with Batman Unlimited and DC Super Friends:

As the DC Comics universe expands, WBCP, DCE and WBA offer boys and preschoolers all-new content inspired by two of the company’s most successful toy lines developed in partnership with Mattel and Fisher-Price: Batman Unlimited and DC Super Friends, respectively. Bringing dimension to the action figures and playsets available in toy aisles globally, each program will engage millions of young fans around the world like never before.

Batman Unlimited debuted content in May as a made-for-video animated movie entitled Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, with the sequel Batman Unlimited: Monstery Mayhem set to release in the second half of 2015. Adding to the new Batman Unlimitedcontent, Warner Bros. has started to roll out the 22 stand-alone, two-minute shorts featuring additional story elements along with companion apps designed for young fans to extend and customize their experience in a new interactive way. Everyone’s favorite canine, Scooby-Doo, is building more excitement at retail with licensing support from The LEGO Group, bringing Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and the Gang to life in LEGO form for the first time ever, in five all-new building sets and in never-before-seen animated content, featuring the zaniness of the classic characters in true LEGO form. Later this year, fans can look forward to a 22-minute LEGO special, featuring Scooby-Doo, and produced in partnership with WBA. Jason Momoa Super Stoked For Aquaman & James Wan

A couple of days ago saw Warner Bros. officially announce James Wan as the director on the new Aquaman movie, which will star Jason Momoa as the King Of Atlantis.

Momoa has taken to his Instagram account to voice his approval and excitement. 

“Game on. Super stoked Aloha AC,” Momoa posted.

The Aquaman movie is due out in 2018, with the description of the movie previously provided as: An icon for over 70 years, Aquaman is the King of the Seven Seas. This reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, is committed to protecting the entire globe.

Following a first look at Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, a first look at Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 has been released.

Hutcherson, who reprises as Peeta, posted the image on Twitter along with a next Tuesday’s date, which is speculated to be the reveal of the new trailer.

The next installment of the record-breaking franchise, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay– Part 2,” will be released on November 20, 2015, directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, LiamHemsworth and Woody Harrelson.

Beast Wars Transformers Movie A Possibility

Paramount, Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Akiva Goldsman have put together a writers room for a shared universe of Transformers movies.

The writers on board include newly announced Ken Nolan and Geneva Robertson-Dworet who join Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2‘s Zak Penn and Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Lost’s Jeff Pinkner.

Now Goldmsman has shared some of the Transformers plans, with mention that a Beast Wars movie would even be possible.

“If one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole room,” Goldsman told Deadline.

The first order of business for the writers room is coming up with an idea and script for the fifth Transformers movie, which will be directed by Michael Bay. It’s reported Paramount wants the script ready when Bay is done with his latest movie 13 Hours.

Goldsman also offered the following details in regards to the writers room Transformers process:

“I got a taste of this from JJ Abrams when I came in to write an episode of Fringe, and then Jeff Pinkner let me hang around for four years like the drunk uncle. The whole process of the story room was really delightful, and we are seeing it more in movies as this moves toward serialized storytelling. There are good rooms around town, including the Monsters Room at Universal, the Star Wars room, and of course, at Marvel. We’re trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise. There is a central corridor of movies that has been proceeding quite well, but our challenge will be to answer, where do we go from here?”

“We’ve got a work space that is beautifully production designed to be immersive with a strong sense of the franchise history. We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe.”

“It just felt like such fertile ground and a rich environment for storytelling, and there has already been thoughtful work done long before any of us came into the room. We will be innovative miners, and we will have fun and get to do what we imagined this was all about when we were kids.”

The Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation to Cure Batten Disease was established to raise the necessary funds to progress this urgent medical research in order to save the Gray girls and all children impacted by Batten disease. After lots of questions and many tests, 4-year-old Charlotte Gray was diagnosed in March 2015 with Late Infantile NCL Batten Disease CLN6. Her family quickly learned this neurodegenerative brain disease is extremely rare and would leave Charlotte blind, immobile, cognitively impaired, and, ultimately, dead between the ages of 6 to 12. Charlotte’s younger sister Gwenyth was immediately tested and given the same grim diagnosis. Due to its rarity, solutions for this presently incurable and fatal disease have received minimal research, focus and funding. But there is hope; three promising treatment options exist, including a potential cure.

Ron Perlman Starts Hellboy 3 Social Media Campaign

Hellboy 3 was thought long and gone, but now Ron Perlman has taken to Twitter to bring it back to life.

Perlman tweeted: “Anybody out there wanna see #HellboyIII as much as I do? Let’s get this muthafucka trending, y’all! Let’s end the trilogy; we earned it!”

The tweet has since been retweeted over 11,000 times and favorited over 9,000 times.

Geek Tyrant also points out Doug Jones, who played Abe Sapien, joined in, as Jones tweeted: Locking elbows with you, Big Brother Red!! #HellboyIII”

Guillermo del Toro stated last year Hellboy 3 wasn’t on the cards due to finance issues, but perhaps with Perlman starting a Twitter campaign, something is brewing.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Has Less Characters & Gunn Nixed A New One

In addition to James Gunn finishing the script for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Chris Pratt stating the story brought him to tears, new details are learned about the sequel.

James Gunn has been using the new Periscope App as of late and answered a bunch of questions about Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Screen Rant jotted down some of the answers with the most notable being Gunn mentioning Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will actually have less characters.

Gunn, who removed Richard Rider Nova from the Nicole Perlman’s first Guardians of the Galaxy script, also lets it be known he removed another character for this movie. He confirms instead of two new characters, there will only be one (assumed to be a Guardian).

“People ask for so many characters to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and they ask for so many actors who they want to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but we actually have less characters in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 than we have in Guardians of the Galaxy 1 because everything is just getting too sprawling and too crazy for me in these superhero comic book movies. And also in superhero comics in general. There’s just too many characters so you can’t concentrate on one and really get to know that character, and I really want to get to know the characters that we know better, and yeah, we will be introducing a new character…”

“I did not get any help with the first draft of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 other than I wrote a scriptment which I’ve been working on for nine months, and I wrote that very, very in-depth scriptment which is a 70-page combination of a script and a treatment and it goes through every beat of the movie, everything, and I’ve been going through that and showing that to [Marvel Studios Boss] Kevin [Feige] and getting feedback and seeing what worked and what didn’t, what characters work, what didn’t. I mean, people will be disappointed – at some point I’ll release – but I had another big character in my original draft and it was just getting too busy. I took that character out. And it’s a character I like a lot and hope to work with in the future but I just didn’t have room for that person, that character.”

Some other tidbits Gunn mentioned include:

• Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is “not forced to fit in puzzle pieces from other creators nor is it required to serve as setup for Avengers: Infinity War.”

• The Guardians movies don’t follow the comics too close because a lot of the Marvel Cosmic characters aren’t owned by Marvel Studios.

• The five core Guardians are returning along with Yondu, Nebula and Kraglin.

• It hasn’t been mentioned whether the Nova Corps will be involved.

• Star-Lord’s father has not been cast, yet.

• Scott Chambliss is the new production designer (known for Abram Star Trek movies, Mission Impossible).

• Guardians is the most standalone series Marvel has.

• Gunn said he is going to wait until after Guardians 2 to decide if he will do Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

• Gunn also again said on Facebook that the Hulk isn’t involved.

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” has a May 5, 2017 release.
