Mad Max Choose Your Path Interactive Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a new interactive trailer for the upcoming Mad Max video game.

The game becomes available September 1st.

The barren landscape stretches out before you, seemingly unending with no signs of life and no relief from the relentless sun. As you navigate your battering ram of a vehicle over the remnants of a long-abandoned highway, you contemplate this existence you call life. There is no mercy in this post-apocalyptic world and no solace — only the instinctual quest for survival and the cold comfort that is vengeance. You’ve become a lone warrior, a reluctant hero, but only because your choices were that or death. The only thing that gives you any hope is the thought of leaving this madness behind and finding peace at last in the storied Plains of Silence. You are Mad Max, and these are the end of times.

Embark on a dangerous journey through the Wasteland that is this post-apocalyptic world on a quest to retrieve your Interceptor, which has been stolen by a deadly gang of marauders. Take on each foe with brutal moves and combos that are your only chance of beating the deranged bandits of the Wasteland. Scavenge the landscape for the scraps you need to craft and upgrade equipment, vehicles and weapons — your lifelines in this unforgiving setting. With the ability to construct the ultimate war vehicle by choosing from dozens of customizable parts and upgrade combinations and arming your vehicle with a slew of deadly weapons, you can annihilate enemy vehicles in dynamic, physics-based vehicular combat. As you explore the vast, open-world environment of the Wasteland, take on unique missions and side quests, eliminate eccentric bandits and battle savage gangs. There’s only one thing to live for now — revenge.

Hugh Jackman Teases Sabretooth & Berserker Rage For The Wolverine 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21738:]]

In addition to Parick Stewart returning as Professor Xavier for the sequel to The Wolverine, it’s possible Sabretooth may make an appearance.

Recently, Hugh Jackman took to his social networks to ask fans what they wanted one last time. The majority of responses was in regards to Wolverine wearing the classic yellow costume, but while taking part in a podcast, Jackman let two other requests be known. Jackman says a lot of fans want to see Sabretooth return as well as many fans want to see the infamous Berserker Rage from the comics, and of course, many fans want Jackman to stick around.

There were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back, there was… I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don’t make it the last, but I’m really excited about this last one, and if you’re a comic book fan, then the words ‘berserker rage’ came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you’ll understand.

Update: Sabretooth actor Liev Shreiber has noticed Hugh’s comments.

The as of yet untitled Wolverine sequel has a March 3, 2017 release with James Mangold returning to direct.

Press Release

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2015) — Disney, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm presented their live action film slates this morning at the D23 EXPO 2015 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The presentations, which revealed exclusive news and details about the upcoming live action films, were aided by live and video appearances from talent and filmmakers. Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn hosted the highly anticipated biennial event.

“It’s quite something to be able to have Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm all on the same stage, and it’s tremendously gratifying to unveil our upcoming projects to our most dedicated fans first,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “We always have an incredible time at the D23 EXPO.”

After welcoming the crowd to D23 EXPO 2015, Horn introduced Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, and Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, to present overviews of the Marvel Studios and Disney live action slates. Later Horn returned to the stage to present the Lucasfilm film slate to the enthusiastic audience.

A recap of the presentation follows:

· Kevin Feige led off with a glimpse into the world of Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” featuring a video greeting by Benedict Cumberbatch, who stars as the title character, followed by a pre-production piece that offered fans a taste of the look and feel of the upcoming film, opening in U.S. theaters on October 26, 2016.

· Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” marched into D23 EXPO with an introduction by its producer, Kevin Feige. To the delight of the audience, Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie showed up on stage to help Feige show never-seen-before footage from the movie. Before the footage rolled, Feige revealed that there was a special “Easter egg” for fans to find: it was aptly a nod to D23 EXPO.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

The movie stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Frank Grillo, Tom Holland, with William Hurt and Daniel Brühl. Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee serve as executive producers and the screenplay is by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” opens in the U.S. on May 6, 2016.

· Alan Horn took the stage again to present the Lucasfilm slate and timeline to the D23 EXPO fans. Horn told the audience that there were only 124 days to the release of Episode VII, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” on December 18, 2015 and added that there have been record-breaking trailer views and fantastic fan response. Touching on “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” Horn reminded the audience that Rian Johnson will be directing the film slated for release on May 26, 2017. Then in a surprise announcement, Horn informed everyone that Colin Trevorrow (“Jurassic World”) has signed on to direct “Star Wars: Episode IX,” which is scheduled for release in 2019.

Moving on to the new Star Wars stories series, Horn touched on the “Untitled Han Solo” stand-alone film, slated for release on May 25, 2018 by reminding everyone that it will be directed by Christopher Miller & Phil Lord, with Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan writing the screenplay.· Horn then took the audience by surprise, announcing the cast for “Rogue One,” the first of the standalone Star Wars stories to hit the big screen, which has commenced principal photography. Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) is directing “Rogue One,” which tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.

The filmmakers have assembled a stellar cast, including Felicity Jones, nominated for an Academy Award® for her leading role in “The Theory of Everything”; Diego Luna, who was featured in 2008’s Oscar®-winning “Milk” and the critically acclaimed “Killing Them Softly”; Ben Mendelsohn, recently nominated for an Emmy® for his leading role in “Bloodline” and co-starring in the upcoming “Mississippi Grind”; Donnie Yen, Hong Kong action star and martial artist who starred in “Ip Man” and “Blade II”; Jiang Wen, who co-wrote, produced , directed and starred in the award-winning “Let the Bullets Fly” and “Devils on the Doorstep”; Forest Whitaker, recently featured in the critically-acclaimed Lee Daniels’ “The Butler” and winner of an Academy Award® for his leading role in 2006’s “The Last King of Scotland; Mads Mikkelsen, who starred in “The Hunt” and was the memorable villain from 2006’s “Casino Royale”; Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in “Rogue One,” stars in the soon-to-be-released “Con Man” series and “Trumbo,” which releases this November; and Riz Ahmed, who was recently featured in “Nightcrawler” and starred in the BAFTA-winning film “Four Lions.”

The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and is slated for a December 16, 2016 release.

· “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ended the live-action presentation with a bang as J.J. Abrams introduced stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong’o. The crowd cheered when John Boyega announced that everyone there would get a Drew Struzan D23 EXPO commemorative poster to take home. Then, in a bringing-down-the house surprise moment, Harrison Ford, who is reprising his role as Han Solo, joined Abrams on stage to wild applause.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by J.J. Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” releases in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2015.

League of Extraordinary Gentleman Going Back To Its Routes With Female Lead

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21733:]]

About three months ago saw word of a League Of Extraordinary Gentleman reboot, which will see John Davis on board to produce.

Now Davis offers some potential details about the new League of Extraordinary Gentleman at the recent Television Critics Association press tour.

Davis offers the reboot will be more similar to the Alan Moore graphic novel in that it will focus on the female lead character, Mina Harker, whereas the failed movie focused more on Sean Connery’s Allan Quatermain.

Collider actually thinks Davis’ comment means the entire cast will be female, but what I’m getting from the quote – which says “going back to the roots and making it authentic” – is just that Mina Harker will be the lead of the film.

Here’s the blurb:

JOHN DAVIS: Just by going back to the roots and making it authentic to what the fan base was really excited about. It’s female-centric, which I think is interesting. I love female characters, point-of-view characters in action movies. I thought Mad Max was great. I think you can always find a fresh way of doing something and going back to the basics. What is that people love? What is it that made them love the property in the first place?

Some of the later stories happen to feature another female character as well with Captain Nemo’s daughter, Janni Dakkar, so I’m guessing the new League of Extraordinary Gentleman isn’t going the way of the female Ghostbusters.

It should be noted the 124 minutes may not be the final run time for Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the movie is still being edited, but it’s a good general indication.

Doctor Strange Concept Art Revealed At D23 Expo & More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21720:]]

Update: You can watch Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange message here.

In addition to the Captain America: Civil War trailer, Marvel revealed a special surprise for Doctor Strange.

Concept art was shown off as well as video of Benedict Cumberbatch.

Below you can check out YouTube user ShartimusPrime’s reaction to the Marvel panel as he just exited the D23 hall.

Reddit also put together the following description:

“The comics do it all, traverse these worlds, traverse these directions, and with each film we try to expand that.” He talked about Scott Derrickson, the director, and the cast including Tilda Swinton and Benedict Cumberbatch, the latter of whom sent a recorded greeting.

“I”m very lucky and excited to be playing Doctor Strange for Marvel. He’s an extraordinary character and brings in whole new multiple dimensions to the Marvel Universe. It will bring a mind-blowing experience.”

“You’re going to get girls, cars, explosions, and a bit of astral projecting into multiple dimensions – the usual fare.”

While the movie doesn’t start filming until November, they brought concept art for us to see in a video.

Narration by the director says “he’s the top neuro surgeon in the world, but has a car accident that mangles his hands. He goes on a quest looking for healing, looking to recover, and meets the Ancient One.”

The concept art shows Strange going to the far east, then being transported to, as promised, multiple cimensions. Cars flying through the air in the city, Baron Mordo fighting him, and the full on red caped look straight out of the comics.

He’s doing magic, pulling mighty magical chains, and no joke, that look was RIGHT out of the comics. Even a quick 1-second CGI shot of Strange shooting magic bolts capped it all off. Huge reaction from the crowd.

“Doctor Strange” has a November 4, 2016 release directed by Scott Derrickson.

Captain America: Civil War Trailer Description From D23 Expo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21718:]]

Update: You can watch the Captain America: Civil War panel with Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie here.

Disney showed off a Captain America: Civil War trailer today at their D23 Expo in Anaheim.

Sadly, I don’t think any of the footage will make its way online (at least not yet) as I’m hearing reports that Disney had their security confiscate everyone’s recording equipment and phones. Security was said to be super tight.

That said, various news outlets that were in attendance have reported on the Captain America: Civil War trailer, which you can read about below.

It is possible Marvel may release the Captain America: Civil War trailer online later today or in the coming week.

Note: There is a fake Captain America: Civil War trailer that is going around on Twitter and YouTube that starts with WWII footage.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21719:]]

Captain America: Civil War trailer description via IGN:

The footage opens with Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon dealing with Crossbones as the villain attempts to blow up a truck. During the fight, Crossbones tosses a magnetic explosive at Cap’s shield, and the hero throws it into the air so that the explosion avoids the crowd.

Crossbones removes his mask and reveals his scarred face, turning to Cap and saying, “He remembered you, you know. Your little pal Bucky.” The footage then cut to the scene from the credits of Ant-Man, where Cap and Falcon are talking to Bucky. Bucky tells Cap that he remembers his mom’s name was Sarah, and that he used to stuff newspapers in his shoes. Cap smiles, knowing that some trace of his old friend is still in there.

We then see General Ross (William Hurt, reprising his role from Edward Norton’s Incredible Hulk) telling Cap how the country owes him an impossible debt, but that for some he’s not a hero now but a vigilante. Cut to shots of Cap and Tony Stark talking about what comes next. Tony talks about how they’re operating with oversight so how does that make them different from villains? “That’s what this is about to you? Protection?” says Cap. While continuing to argue, Iron Man tells Cap, “Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth.”

The footage then rolls into quick shots of the heroes delivering some pretty great lines. “In this job, you try to save everybody you can. Sometimes that doesn’t mean everybody,” say a stoic Captain America. We see a quick shot of Black Panther, but no sign of Spider-Man. Black Widow and Hawkeye, caught on opposite sides of the Civil War, are about to fight. “We’re still friends right?” Black Widow asks. “Depends on how hard you hit me,” Hawkeye replies.

The footage ended with Hawkeye opening a van, revealing Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. He’s absolutely starstruck by Captain America. He’s shaking as he meets him, and fumbles the greeting. “You know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me.”

Via Reddit:

Here’s what we see: The new Avengers are in buildings overlooking a crowded market in what appears to be a third-world country. “Eyes on target, folks,” Captain America says. Falcon says, “Red Wing, launch,” and a small drone hovers free and dives down to the street, swooping beneath a truck, which is loaded with explosives. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson is in a café.) “It’s a battering ram,” she says. The team closes in, and the truck opens up—revealing Crossbones, a.k.a. Brock Rumlow (played by Frank Grillo, from The Winter Soldier). He spots Cap moving in and throws a magnetic bomb onto Cap’s vibranium shield. Cap thinks fast, throwing the shield into the sky just as it detonates.

He is now unarmed, and Crossbones pummels him. The rest of Crossbones’ crew springs to action. Falcon blocks machine gun fire with his wings. Black Widow flips through the air, sending bad guys flying. Crossbones grips Cap and slams him into a concrete wall. He leers at the hero from behind a metallic, skull-shaped masked. “You dropped a building on my face,” he snarls, a reference to the conclusion of The Winter Soldier. Cap rips his gauntlet off and pushes free, then tears off the metal mask. Crossbones kneels, defeated, and mutters: “You know, he remembered you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky.” Turns out, Captain America does have a weak spot.

From there we get the Marvel Studios logo and cut to William Hurt as Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross—the former general, known as the nemesis of The Incredible Hulk. “The world owes you an unpayable debt,” Ross says as images of past heroism play onscreen. “While a great many people see you as a hero, there are some who prefer the word vigilante. People are afraid.” Cap is indignant. “This job, we try to save as many as we can. Sometimes that doesn’t mean everybody,” he says. Then we see a shot familiar to anyone who waited for the end credits scene after Ant-Man. The Winter Soldier himself, Cap’s old friend Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan), is trapped in a warehouse with his metallic arm locked in a vice. “Buck, You know me?” The assassin whose mind was wiped in the previous Captain America movie looks up. “My mom’s name was Sarah,” he says. “You used to wear newspapers in your shoes.” Then we get a reunion between Cap and another powerful being: Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. “Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth,” he says.

Something has happened. Something that can’t be undone. The world wants heroes to stay heroes, but they need to be regulated. Controlled. We see a flash of heroes. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Paul Bettany as The Vision (wearing street clothes! A dapper suit), Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye striking a pose with his bow and arrow, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa—in regular clothes, and also in his Black Panther armor, complete with gloves that extend razor-sharp blades from the fingernails.

As we see various teams of powerful beings running at each other, the footage cuts to another van—this one with Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man inside. He meets Cap and totally geeks out. “Captain America…” he says, awestruck, shaking his idol’s hand. And shaking it some more. And then some more. “I’m shaking your hand too long,” he says. Pinwheeling around, he looks at Scarlet Witch. “I know you, too!” Ant-Man says. “You’re great!” He tries to play it cool. “I want to say I know you know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me,” he says. Then pauses. Blinks. “Thanks for thinking of me,” he corrects himself.

Oh, and that Easter egg Feige promised? It wasn’t a glimpse of Spider-Man (unfortunately). It was the glass-block holding cell used to contain the Winter Soldier in the one-shot. The container number was 23, in cell block D. … Get it? A little nod to Disney’s fan convention. That’s all for the Marvel panel. Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6.

Star Wars Coming To Disney Theme Parks

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21717:]]

In addition to the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster, Rogue One announcement and art, and Colin Trevorrow directing Episode IX, Disney has announced Star Wars is coming to their theme parks, which also came with the following concept art.

Via StarWars.com:

Today at the D23 EXPO 2015, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, allowing Star Wars fans to step into the stories from a galaxy far, far away.

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14-acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Iger. “Through each new attraction and new land we create, we push the boundaries of what is possible. And as you can imagine, with Star Wars, we are taking that to a whole new level, with a whole galaxy to explore.”

These authentic lands will have two signature attractions, including the ability to take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, theMillennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Warsadventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle.

The filmmakers have assembled a stellar cast, including Felicity Jones, nominated for an Academy Award for her leading role in The Theory of Everything; Diego Luna, who was featured in 2008’s Oscar-winning Milk and the critically acclaimed Killing Them Softly; Ben Mendelsohn, recently nominated for an Emmy for his leading role in Bloodline and co-starring in the upcoming Mississippi Grind; Donnie Yen, Hong Kong action star and martial artist who starred in Ip Man and Blade II; Jiang Wen, who co-wrote, produced , directed and starred in the award-winning Let the Bullets Fly and Devils on the Doorstep; Forest Whitaker, recently featured in the critically-acclaimed Lee Daniels’ The Butler and winner of an Academy Award for his leading role in 2006’s The Last King of Scotland; Mads Mikkelsen, who starred in The Hunt and was the memorable villain from 2006’s Casino Royale; Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in Rogue One, stars in the soon-to-be-released Con Man series and Trumbo, which releases this November; and Riz Ahmed, who was recently featured in Nightcrawler and starred in the BAFTA-winning film Four Lions.

Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe,” says Kathleen Kennedy. “It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary ensemble cast he’s selected for Rogue One.”

Veteran ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll, who shares a long history with the Star Wars movies, dating back to the mid-1990s, originated the idea for the movie. Allison Shearmur (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Cinderella), John Knoll, Simon Emanuel (The Dark Knight Rises, Fast & Furious 6) and Jason McGatlin (Tintin, War of the Worlds) are executive producers. Kiri Hart and John Swartz (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) are co-producers.

To create the lived-in, realistic feel of Rogue One, Edwards chose Greig Fraser (Zero Dark Thirty, Foxcatcher) to be his director of photography and Neil Corbould (Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan) to be his special effects supervisor. Star Wars and Lucasfilm veteran Doug Chiang (Star Wars: Episodes I-II, Forrest Gump) and Neil Lamont (supervising art director for the Harry Potter series, Edge of Tomorrow) will be the production designers. Additional crew members will include stunt coordinator Rob Inch (World War Z, Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger), creature effects supervisor Neal Scanlan (Prometheus) and co-costume designers Dave Crossman (costume supervisor for the Harry Potter series, Saving Private Ryan) and Glyn Dillon (costume concept artist for Kingsman: The Secret Service, Jupiter Ascending).

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21712:]]

Today at the D23 Expo, Disney announced that Colin Trevorrow, the director on the blockbuster film Jurassic World, will direct the as of yet untitled Star Wars: Episode IX, which gets released in 2019.

Via StarWars.com:

While production won’t begin for a few years, Trevorrow is heading to Lucasfilm this year to begin working with artists and his fellow Star Wars directors. “Colin is someone I’ve been interested in working with ever since I saw Safety Not Guaranteed,” says Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. “The power of that film paired with the enormous success of Jurassic World speaks volumes about his abilities both as a storyteller and skilled filmmaker. We are thrilled to have such an incredible talent as Colin join our family and step into the Star Wars universe.”

Trevorrow states “This is not a job or an assignment. It is a seat at a campfire, surrounded by an extraordinary group of storytellers, filmmakers, artists and craftspeople. We’ve been charged with telling new stories for a younger generation because they deserve what we all had—a mythology to call their own. We will do this by channeling something George Lucas instilled in all of us: boundless creativity, pure invention and hope.”
