Canada Releases Wolverine’s Military Records

It is April Fool’s Day, but Canada has gone out and done a pretty cool thing by releasing the “military records” of James Howlett aka Wolverine.

The official Library and Archives of Canada released the following “info” about Wolverine:

Library and Archives Canada’s major acquisition of the declassified journals and military records of Canadian supersoldier James “Logan” Howlett

April 1, 2016 – Gatineau, Quebec – Library and Archives Canada (LAC)

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) acquires the declassified journals and military records of Canadian supersoldier James “Logan” Howlett.

Logan was born in 1882 in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, to wealthy landowner Elizabeth Howlett and her grounds-keeper Thomas Logan.

Logan’s journals provide valuable insight into his early life in Canada, including work as a miner in a British Columbia stone quarry, a fur trader for the Hudson’s Bay Company, and a homesteader in the Canadian Rockies. His military career spanned multiple conflicts, making his personnel records an unprecedented study in Canadian military history. Logan was gravely wounded in action many times, and gained a reputation as a gritty survivor.

Quick Facts:

• WWI: Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces (Devil’s Brigade). Fought at Ypres in 1915. Wounded by a sword through the chest.
• WWII: Returned to the Devil’s Brigade in the Second World War, as an allied spy and paratrooper for the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion during the Normandy landings on D-Day.
• Cold War: based in Ottawa and Calgary, worked for both CSIS and the CIA.
• Logan later changed his operative name to ‘Wolverine’, and worked with various NGOs.

Listen To Yoda, Obi-Wan, Luke, Darth Vader & Palpatine In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Listen to the secret dialogue in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rey flashback scene.

We already knew the scene featured Yoda and Obi-Wan (voiced by both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor), but apparently it features Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, the breathing of Darth Vader and Palpatine as well.

The Mike Zeroh YouTube channel put the video together, which first plays what we hear in the movie, and then later amplifies the sound so it can be heard a lot clearer. Cool video.

Batman Vs. Superman Cut Scene & Star Wars Easter Egg & Trailer Revealed (Video)

Watch video below featuring Batman Vs. Superman producer Deborah Snyder talking about a Star Wars Easter Egg that was included in the movie as well as a Henry Cavill cut scene.

Both Batman Vs. Superman and Star Wars: The Force Awakens filmed at the same time. Zack Snyder happens to be a big fan of Star Wars (and was at one time rumored for a SW movie). Snyder released an image of a Jedi Superman Henry Cavill (above), which saw Abrams follow suit with images of his own, only for Snyder to do so as well (see below).

Deborah Snyder actually reveals they created a special Batman Vs. Superman Star Wars-themed trailer, which was for their personal use, but hints it may be released at some point.

The Batman Vs. Superman Star Wars Easter Egg is of Lex Luthor as prisoner TK-421, which is the name of the Stormtrooper from Star Wars: Episode IV that Luke and Han stole the stormtrooper suit from used to infiltrate the Death Star.

Regarding the Batman Vs. Superman cut scene, it involved Henry Cavill as Clark Kent investigating Batman in Gotham City.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Eclipse Details & Zombie Trailer

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III ECLIPSE COMING FIRST TO PLAYSTATION 4 ON 19th APRIL

Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Eclipse Features Four New Diverse Multiplayer Maps, Including the Re-imagining of the Call of Duty: World at War Classic, Banzai

All-New Terrifying Zombies Experience Sends Players to the Shores of the Pacific In Next Chapter of Epic Zombies Saga

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Eclipse, the second DLC pack for the No. 1 top-selling console video game of 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, is set to release on 19th April, first for the PlayStation 4 with other next-gen platforms to follow*. In addition to a thrilling array of four new multiplayer maps, Eclipse features an all-new Zombies experience that immerses players in an undead World War II Pacific theatre.

“The incredible amount of engagement and response to Black Ops III from our fans continues to inspire all of us at the studio,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch. “Eclipse continues to demonstrate our commitment to delivering the most exciting gameplay experiences possible with each DLC pack. We are pushing ourselves at every turn to craft new and unique ways to play.”

Eclipse comes packed with four new multiplayer maps: Spire, Rift, Knockout and Verge, a re-imagining of the Call of Duty: World at War classic, Banzai.

· Spire: Spire takes Multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.
· Rift: Head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Utilise the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies as you traverse the suspended rail system.
· Knockout : Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a bloody Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.
· Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map, Banzai, Verge drops Multiplayer combat into the centre of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as you engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.

Eclipse also sets the stage for Zetsubou No Shima, the highly-anticipated, all-new entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies storyline that spans the four DLC Map Packs for Black Ops III this year. The Origins characters continue on their mission to stop the zombie apocalypse not only in this universe but in all universes. Our heroes find themselves stranded on a remote Pacific island which is home to the Division 9 facility: a secret biological research lab whose experiments with Element 115 and its effects on human, animal and plant biology has created horrors beyond belief. Zetsubou No Shima features a foliage-rich island map including new terrifying zombie enemies, a variety of innovative transport mechanics, more devastating traps and classic Zombies side quests.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops III Eclipse DLC Map Pack is available at a discounted rate via the Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC Season Pass*, which features four DLC Map Packs planned for the year, as part of the discounted bundle. Call of Duty: Black Ops III is rated PEGI 18.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Eclipse is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 games and entertainment system from Sony on 19th April 2016 with other next-gen platform availability to follow**.

*Season Pass content not available on PS3 or Xbox 360. Downloadable content in the Season Pass may be sold separately. If you purchase the DLC Season Pass offering, do not also purchase these standalone DLC Map Packs, as you will be charged for them. DLC Season Pass and DLC Map Packs may not be available on all platforms or in all territories. Pricing and release dates may vary by platform. Call of Duty: Black Ops III game required; sold separately.

Kevin Smith Changes His Tune For Batman vs. Superman

Well, that didn’t take long.

Following Kevin Smith blasting Batman Vs. Superman for not having any heart and comparing Ben Affleck’s Batman to Donald Trump, now Smith has changed his tune.

Kevin Smith happens to be directing an episode of The Flash and posted on Instagram that after watching Batman vs. Superman a second time, he has found the movie’s heart. Awe.

Anybody know where Smith’s spine is at?

Smith was also involved in promoting Batman Vs. Superman.

So to thank me for sneaking him into the @dccomics universe, Jay took me to see @batmanvsuperman again (my second time, his first). I liked the flick more on my second viewing (see 1 hour review on my #KevinSmith #youtube channel). I’d said the film didn’t have any heart, but after the second viewing, I actually found the heart in #batmanvsuperman: it’s in the viewer. And the viewer I watched the blockbuster with the second time was all agog, eyes as big as saucers. During the Knightmare sequence, we shared a moment that even elevated the flick for me: when the winged New Gods nasties attack #Batman and take him down, Jay (age 40) & I (age 45) simultaneously looked at one another and whispered reverently “ParaDemons.” It was a beautiful moment shared by two lifelong fanboys who were delighted to see their childhood flash before their eyes.

Meta-Mewes! The folks at @cwtheflash were kind enough to include a cameo for my hetero life mate @jaymewes in the episode of #TheFlash I directed. As a longtime lover of everything that ever aired on @thecw, Jay was ecstatic to have scripted lines in one of his favorite shows (plus, he got to visit the @cw_arrow sets across the lot). But I also found an opportunity to sneak #jaymewes into another scene as well – this time as a masked super villain. And even though he had no lines as the Meta and is unrecognizable, THIS was the role that reduced him to tears. I’ve seen #JayMewes cry twice in my life: one time it was about the birth of his only begotten daughter, the other time was after he wrapped his super villain bit on #TheFlash. Jay gave me a huge hug and said “You made my dream come true, Moves.” You see, Jay never planned for @jayandsilentbob; while he certainly inspired the cinematic duo, it was never his dream to play Jay in the movies – it was just something that happened to him. But this boy LOVES his comic books – so much so that I’ve never heard him say he’s ever read a bad comic book (and I know for a fact he went deep on the I’ll-fated @marvel “New Universe” titles back in the day). He doesn’t dissect superhero material, he just consumes. Analyzing is for academics: Jay’s just there to see his heroes come to life. Last year saw Furious 7 pass the 200 million mark in eight days, Batman Vs. Superman did it in just six.

It’s projected this weekend will see Batman Vs. Superman remain at #1 and bring in close to another $70 million.

Jesse Eisenberg Doesn’t Know If He Will Be Back For Justice League

Spoilers follow for Batman Vs. Superman

Let’s see: Zack Snyder turned Superman into a killing machine, destroyed Metropolis, had Pa Kent commit suicide, killed Jimmy Olsen, killed Mercy Graves, killed Lex Sr., turned Jr. into a Mark Zuckerburg on Prozac, put Jr. in jail, closed LexCorp, killed Superman and Clark Kent, and did whatever he did with Doomsday. Am I missing anything?

So are the chances good for a return of Jesse Eisenberg in the near future as Lex Luthor? In Justice League? Not looking likely.

Business Insider caught up with Eisenberg to question the actor in regards to what’s next for Lex Luthor; however, Eisenberg doesn’t know.

“I don’t know if they are so settled on where my character goes,” Eisenberg said about Luthor showing up in future movies. “I only hope I have another opportunity to work with these wonderful people and play this interesting character.”

Eisenberg does offer he does think about Lex potentially showing up down the road.

“The character has so many different faces,” Eisenberg said. “He has a public persona that appears charming and friendly and then a deeply disturbed private persona, so it will be interesting to see where he goes.”

Who better to ask about Batman Vs. Superman than the Man of Steel himself, Dean Cain?

Dean Cain (go Bills!) starred as Superman on ABC’s Lois & Clark: The Adventures Of Superman back in 1993 for four seasons.

THR caught up with Dean Cain to get his thoughts on the Dawn of Justice. Overall, it seemed like Dean Cain enjoyed the movie, but he did note his son hated it. Some excerpts:

Yes, my son and I went to see it. My son hated it because Superman died. It made me very happy that he took it so personally and that he has such a strong connection to the character (laughs). The movie obviously was so well made; the effects were incredible. It was too long, though, and I admit, I dozed off a tiny bit, but maybe that’s because I was tired after a lot of traveling. Ben was great as Batman and Henry is a very good Superman. This incarnation is so dark compared to the lightness of the Superman I’ve grown to know and love, as seen in the two versions that I grew up with — Christopher Reeve and myself. That’s the only difference to me. [This movie] inhabits a dark world and Superman is such an alien in that world. Wonder Woman is really easy on the eyes, and I love that they introduced the other guys, the Justice League, because those stories are very cool. I loved how they did that. But I don’t see how you have a Justice League without Superman.

The suit looks fantastic; the suit is amazing! I would call him lucky to get that suit instead of the Lycra that I had. Henry is a big, physical guy, and he looks “super,” if you will (laughs). I’ve met him before and he has that Superman special something. This is a different incarnation, as I’ve mentioned. My favorite of all time will always be Christopher Reeve. He’ll always be Superman in my eyes.

It’s odd for me to watch that because of that incredible strength that he possesses. Whenever I played him, I played Superman as if I had a secret that nobody else knew. That secret is that you could always win. It seemed that Superman didn’t have that in this film. That was different for me. I don’t like seeing him get kicked around so hard. But what I did like a lot is that Superman was so heroic in this film and sacrificed himself before anything or anyone else. That is definitely in tune with the Superman that I know and love.

Dean Cain also happens to play Kara’s father in CBS’s Supergirl.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Robin’s Death Details Revealed For Batman Vs. Superman (Video)

Not only do we find out what happens after Batman Vs. Superman with the fate of LexCorp, but now Zack Snyder reveals details on the death of Robin, which took place before Batman Vs. Superman.

In the following video, Snyder reveals to IGN that the death of Robin took place ten years before Batman Vs. Superman at the hands of a young joker.

In my mind it was that Robin died about ten years earlier during some run-in with a young Joker, and that was intersting to me, sort of a fun back story to play with. I felt like the whole idea was that there had been loss and there had been sacrifice. In a weird way he sacrificed everything to be Batman. He doesn’t have a life outside the cave. I thought by including Robin – a dead Robin –  was helping us understand that he’s been on quite a little journey.

There is actually an intersting theory being floated around that the Jared Leto Joker in Suicide Squad is from a scene in the past, and that Batman has since killed the Joker. Rumors also previously hit the regarding Red Hood.

Check out what Zack Snyder has to say about Robin and more:

Star Wars: Episode VIII Rumored Luke Skywalker Scene & Poe Dameron Costume

We get some rumored details on a Star Wars: Episode VIII scene involving Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and also a description for Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron costume.

Previous set images revealed aristocratic-looking characters and aliens, and now the scene is said to take place at a casino. It’s said the scene involves lots of different aliens, similar to the cantina scene from A New Hope and The Force Awakens, but on a larger scale.  Luke is said to be walking around the casino looking for someone (unknown).  Something apparently happens causing an evacuation with the sequence said to involve Laura Dern’s character and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, as well as lots of people evacuating into smaller ships.

Regarding the costume of Poe Dameron in Star Wars: Episode VIII, Making Star Wars describes it as a cross between Han Solo and Indiana Jones. It’s said to be Poe’s Resistance costume (not the X-Wing costume), which is very similar to Poe’s Force Awakens look, but with slightly updated color and a new jacket. Poe has a V-cut undershirt that is grayish light blue with a jacket from the “Han Solo Collection,” described as a “cafe racer jacket,” but not tight fitting. The jacket is said to look like Han Solo’s jacket from The Force Awakens, but with a higher collar and the lapels stick out more. There is also a left breast pocket.

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” has a December 16, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
