It’s learned that Sony will be at Comic-Con next month as they are bringing both their Tom Hardy Venom movie and the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film to Hall H.
Sony recently debuted new footage from both at CinemaCon back in April.
It’s also being suggested that while Marvel Studios is skipping the SDCC again this year, that Sony might be bringing Tom Holland for the ride, as Sony owns the film rights to Spidey and the related Marvel characters.
Tom Holland recently promoted the title (it wasn’t a leak) for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, at Ace Seattle Comic-Con, with Deadline suggesting he could be a surprise at Sony’s SDCC panel.
The 22-year old actor has also been rumored to be appearing in the Venom movie, and Tom Holland also recently said he wants Spider-Man vs. Venom.
It’s also no secret that Sony is developing a Spidey spinoff universe (Jared Leto has been cast as Morbius), which could see announcements made at Comic-Con.
It’s looking more and more likely that Sony has plans to drop Spider-Man and Tom Holland into their spinoff universe once he is done at Marvel Studios.
The Sony panel takes place Friday, July 20 at 6:15PM in Hall H.
Venom hits October 5, with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on December 14.
