James Gunn fans might think they scored a win — or did they?
A fan recently commented on longtime Batman producer Michael Uslan’s Facebook post, bringing up my reports about the SnyderVerse returning.
The fan wrote: “That’s cool & all, but what’s this I hear about Zack Snyder teaming with the Saudis to restore his universe or something to rival Marvel &, possibly, killing Gunn’s DCU? I hope it’s just another silly Gossip Gerty piece from the Snyder bros…”
Uslan fired back: “‘Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.’ — Abraham Lincoln, 1864.”

Uslan’s Long History With DC
Uslan has been tied to DC for decades.
He started writing comics for the company in 1975, produced the 1982 Swamp Thing movie, and has been credited as a producer on every Batman movie since Burton and Keaton’s 1989 film, along with both Joker movies and multiple DC animated projects.

Uslan Used the Same Line on Batman Beyond Rumors
But here’s the interesting part: Uslan used the exact same response when rumors spread about a Michael Keaton Batman Beyond movie.
After The Flash released, Kevin Smith claimed a hit box office would have led to Keaton returning for Batman Beyond.
Uslan responded on social media at the time with the same Abraham Lincoln line, posting the meme on Instagram: “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.”
Smith later responded to our article about the situation, saying it was actually Uslan’s son who told him the info at The Flash premiere:

What I’ve Been Told About The Flash Ending & The SnyderVerse
From what I’ve been told, the real ending of The Flash was meant to set up a Batman Multiverse and bring Ben Affleck back as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, along with Keaton in Batman Beyond.
I was told that WBD CEO David Zaslav canceled those plans and pushed James Gunn to reboot DC with cheaper talent.
Now, with the impending sale of WBD, I’m hearing the SnyderVerse is back in play.
Worth a note is my insiders filled me in first on Uslan’s Stan Lee comic, which which was confirmed months later.
I’ll have more tomorrow for Thanksgiving.
